I think the luckiest we were was when Saka wasn't seriously injured by Christie in the first half. How many times have these terrible tackles happened and gone unpunished recently? Tomi last time, now Saka.

I think this summer we ought to sell Eddie (he needs to play and it's not happening ay arsenal), sign a striker, keep Jesus but as a winger, and continue with Havertz up front. Just the little cameo today for Jesus but he looked so comfortable on the right, could be a great way to rotate saka. A Partey midfielder (rare, i know) should be a priority because of how much freedom he gives to Rice to be one of the best box to box midfielders in the world. Personally, I think the main difference now between us and city is that ability to rotate quality players in at any time in the season, also makes them more resilient to injuries, we will simply need more players, I think, if we want to challenge on multiple fronts. Love the content! Always the first thing I look for in the AM

Kai Havertz is the embodiment of what makes Arsenal a fantastic football club with an astute transfer policy, a settled dressing room and a very good young manager who has the potential of becoming a great one. Coming to the Emirates has allowed the German forward to blossom and show the world why Chelsea paid an initial fee of £62 million to prise him away from Bayer Leverkusen.

Bizarrely loving Kai in defensive third - calm, confident, reliable touch. Compared to Martinelli who means well but always capable of defensive blunder in covering back.

Hi Charles, we should have been out of sight by half time really. I was nervous up till Leo scored the 2nd goal. No complaints about the Havertz pen, it's the type of thing Kane does weekly. Don't know what's going on with Martinelli just now, i think that's 3 times lately he's been clean through on his own and missed them all. Such a shame Gabriel's goal didn't stand, even Saliba had a shot in the first half. But its all about the points now and that's 3 in the bag.

Thanks for the great content as ever Charles! On the disallowed goal, the difference between this and what White does is Raya gets knocked while going for the ball. White always does it early before the keeper can even go for the ball and then gets out of the 6 yard box. I think fouls like this when the keeper is clearly going for the ball, as soft as they seem, are always going to be given. Remember Trossard's disallowed goal away at Leicester last season?

Hi Charles, good game today. I thought we played really well but I must say, we’ve got to be more clinical in front of goal, especially with two games left. We should have had at-least two goals in the first 20 minutes of the game. Overall, great performance, Rice was superb and I’m glad he got a goal and assist. - Chi
@gentleken786429 күн бұрын
Missed a lot of chances. VAR weird. Christie should have been sent off. Havertz insitigated contact, which will hopefully be thing that the VAR team make new rules on in the summer becuase it's too inconsistent. Also, Rice incredible. 3-0 is fine and probably a fair result in the end.

Hello Charles, I appreciate your match analysis mostly immediately after each game. Another matured performance from the guys, I feel Arteta has gotten to the stage now where he should be supported by the board. What an unbelievable signing KAI has turn out to be all thanks to the coach and Edu.. Whether we win the league or not, the board should back Arteta and we go again next season.

Martinelli was more a defensive substitution!!! Tomi was finding it hard to see the second ball with some tough headers to win, Trossard can’t cover the flank without Tomi so Martinelli does the trick at both ends. Was genius from Arteta.
@user9413329 күн бұрын
A lot of shots were blocked inside the first 25 minutes. I'd hope our video analysts will review and fine tune shooting techniques and decision. We seem to shoot low so should we aim higher when the opposition all diving in to block? Would rather the shot went wide or over the bar than straight at the keeper! Trossard shot straight at Martinez from 3 yards vs Villa could go down as the decider in our title.... imagine we went 1 up inside 30 minutes ..would have been a totally different game and title race! Can always hope for divine intervention
@Dax13Dax29 күн бұрын
Hi Charles, always enjoy your videos. Was a decent game and the result is all that matters at this point. I've been wondering when the last time was that we've scored from a direct free kick? Do you think that's something that we're missing in this team? Don't get me wrong, our setpieces have been amazing this season but I can't remember a player taking a shot and scoring directly from a free kick.

That Kai strike from the left! absolute magic. He is a striker par excellence! we need to bring Biereth in to be his understudy. We must concentrate our resources on a replacement for Zinchenko, a world class winger and a replacement for Partey, everything else can be brought through the academy.

For me 2 things are becoming clearer with each game: 1. Declan Rice is our starting left hand side no.8 2. Kai Havertz is a proper starting no.9 for the club. I think given their splendid performances, that's the framework the club oughta keep on their minds when approaching the market. Its hard to deny that them two in those positions just work.
@lukabaljkas900329 күн бұрын
This probably leaves us needing another no.6 to complement Jorginho, a right winger to compete with Saka, and a right-handed center back to provide cover to Saliba. ( if Timber is cover for White, Tomi and Zina are battling for Lb, and Gabi and Kiwior are our Lcb's, that's the one we're missing with Soares leaving, to have two in each position, unless we promote Norton Cuffy, and count either Timber or White as Rcb cover ). That's the 3 additions we need, plus the replacements for the likes of Ramsdale, Vieira and ESR, ( Patino, or is it too early? ) if they were to leave the club.
@lukabaljkas900329 күн бұрын
I say lets go all out on Guimaraes for that no.6 role, Olise as competition for Saka, and if another midfielder is necessary Paqueta will more than do. 3 Premier League proven top class players right there, plus maybe chuck a defender in there, and I'd call that a 10/10 summer. Easier said than done though, of course, lets keep an eye on what happens.
@adaflyci223228 күн бұрын
Gabriel Jesus can play Saka's role
@lukabaljkas900328 күн бұрын
@@adaflyci2232 Yeah, but if Nketiah and Nelson go, you want two for each position, you got Trossard and Martinelli on the left, and Jesus can only count as cover for Havertz or for Saka, he can't be two things at once, which means we're one body short in the offense.
@adaflyci223228 күн бұрын
@@lukabaljkas9003 I agree with you. That's why we need Alexander Isak.

What are you talking about Charles? Last I checked, you cannot intentionally push/nudge a keeper who is moving to catch/punch the ball. If Solanke was just standing in front of Raya, like White usually does, that would have been accepted. However, he moved and used his elbow to push Raya. That is not allowed. On the penalty, this is not new knowledge that plays like that is usually called as a penalty. A penalty was given for similar situation in the SheffieldVsForrest game.
@spags696228 күн бұрын
Declan was outstanding but Saliba was also a 9 for me. Every time bournmouth looked dangerous, he was winning the ball and closing down their play, not to mentioned covering big Gabby's couple of mistakes.

@UnknownUser-rb9pd29 күн бұрын
This game demonstrated why the Everton game is not a given should we beat Man Utd. Everton are better defensively than most PL teams and we need to be more ruthless in putting away our chances. And also why, despite us scoring a load of goals the last two seasons, we still need that ruthless finisher. The second half would have been a walk in the park if we had a top finisher in this game and we could probably have rotated in a few players. And yes, we were lucky to get the penalty and to get away without them scoring and unlucky that they didn't have a man sent off but we will be a much better team if we have a ruthless finisher.

Charles, a question for another day... I know that pundits and fans look back on the losses in December (Villa, West Ham, and Fulham) as big points dropped. Totally fair, but do you think that "chasing" City and Liverpool for much of the second half of the season actually worked out as a benefit to this team? Of course there's pressure in every game, but perhaps coming from behind in last furlongs of the race might have helped this young team (not assuming any outcome, of course, I'm just impressed with the run-in this year compared to last)?

The Havertz penalty was a penalty, it was a bit soft but the Bournemouth keeper went to ground early, sold himself and caught Kai's trailing leg. Should their goal have stood? Yes, I think so as I didn't see much wrong with it, but to be honest, Christie should've been sent off due to that horrific challenge on Saka. This is the 3rd game in a row where Arsenal players have been extremely lucky to not have had very very serious leg injuries.
