But Nelson's theory won't work in all the scenes. It did not work in BEAST where the audience did not feel the heat of super market being hijacked because people were laughing and passing jokes. That turned out to be the main reason of the movie's failure. Here in JAILOR he balanced it very well as he did not cross the line in important serious scenes. Also it worked for Rajini's image as he is a natural comedian. Still there were some scenes (like Rajini joking to YogiBabu after killing Saravanan, Villain going to kill Rajini family kneeling down and begging) that took away the seriousness and intensity of the scene. But luckily the audience accepted them and it worked. The villain group dancing for hindi songs every now and then is the kind of comedy that will be acceptable and enjoyable. Plus the second half comedy between Tamana, Director , Hero and Redin Kingsley worked very well as it doesn't interact with any serious character. Jaffer rotating in the fan comedy also worked well. Overall , the movie is a very good mix of story, serious scenes and comedy scenes. .

Though Thalaivar #SuperstarRajinikanth never had a setback since the 80's 👑... #Jailer movie worked really well for all sections of Audience, due to the simple writing & Outstanding High Points with unique humour content from Nelson... So it was a Great comeback for him..!!! Keep Rocking Nelsaa.. U will not get opportunity like how u got for this movie because of Rajini sir.. Cuz this is a cruel & selfish world...

Beast movie only other hero fans created negative impact. Movie was good. Even rajini told in audio launch that kalanidhi himself told beast was profitable and had good collection. Only negative talks which Vijay had in all his movies made beast look like a avg movie

Beast was bad. Whole movie takes place in same place, the villain was so weak, all the action scenes were too over the top and the fighter jet climax was comical joke. Who even rides a fighter jet wearing t shirt and pants. Just accept that beast was bad

Even if the upcoming movie is a disaster and more worse than beast,vj or ajith movies will surely have good BO since they can get back the investments in the first day of the release itself., since it relases all the country nd some parts overseas., so it doesnt mean every movie they did is a above average movie in my pov

The director, who is inspired by the one and only trendsetter of Tamil cinema C.V.Sridhar, the greatest complete filmmaker of all times. Nelson has a VIS COM degree + TV experience combined, stands him in good stead. Knowing all the technical aspects of filmmaking ( script writing, shots division, editing, cinematography, last but not the least Camera Angles) of the essence. Most of the directors now think with just Script Writing is enough to become a film director. NO NO NO. Everything must be learnt to be reckoned with, a complete director.
