@@GailPatriceDesign I traded my Triumph at Sew Right Sewing in Queens, NY. They're lovely there. I was just practicing the decorative cover stitching that I learned from YOU (!) but I'm wishing for a Bernina version of the BL curve foot which really did make a difference. I like to do gentle curves. On the L890 is the C13 the best choice? I feel like it needs to be shorter, like the BL one. Perhaps I can practice with the standard (longer) foot and maybe lighten the pressure on the foot...

@@elenam4694 hi Elena. BERNINA is coming out with more specialty feet but COVID Hs slowed down worldwide production. I will definitely pass along your excellent suggestion. Hi Elsa, I’m stitching on the BERNINA L 890 . It’s an overlock/Coverstitch combo machine that stitches beautifully. By making the chain yourself it can be customized to the colors you have in any type of project-garments, home decor or quilting. Hi Gail, love your videos, very helpful. I was wondering if you could and wouldn’t mind answering a question. I have some 0.6 mm waxed polyester thread. Would this be ok in the Evolution serger upper and/or lower loopers. I ask because it tells you not to oil the ports and I wonder about the wax. Many thanks. Catherine

Can this be made on a Babylock triumph serger ?
@GailPatriceDesign
@GailPatriceDesign 2 ай бұрын
Hi Cheryl, Most of the stitches can be created on a Triumph. Because you can't adjust tensions on the Triumph, the Twice as Nice Stitch isn't doable, but you have the beautiful Wave Stitch that shows both the upper and lower looper thread colors on the top side of your fabric. (I just put your Thread Fusion in an envelope and it will ship tomorrow.) If you have questions or need any help with the Decorative Stitches, let me know and thanks for your purchase and for watching Serger Tip Clips!

@GailPatriceDesign
@GailPatriceDesign 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Krystle, The BERNINA L890 is a combo overlock/coverstitch machine. It is computerized, will auto set tensions as well as allow you to tweak the settings for specialty stitches and threads. You can also save settings in the memory. And the maximum overlock stitch width is 9.0mm. The Triumph has a maximum stitch width of 7.5mm. Let me know if you have a question on either machine and I'll be happy to help you. Thanks for watching Serger Tip Clips.

Hi, my camera has a mic on it that is less than 2inches from the machine and it amplifies the sound. The L890 is probably the quietest machine on the market but in order to get the best shot of the presser foot, the camera and mic have to be that close. Thanks for watching Serger Tip Clips!

Hi, Every serger brand and model has its own nuances. And some sergers handle decorative threads and techniques better than others. The key is to find threads that work well on yours and be willing to experiment and test a variety of settings to find the best results. Many sergers work well with 12 wt cotton threads for decorative stitches. Please feel free to email any questions you have and if you include pics, it helps me troubleshoot faster. thanks for watching!
