I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your “NO FEAR” attitude, sense of fun, adventure, and musical experimentation with these rare vintage antique instruments of yesteryear!!! Despite my Mother’s attempts to pay for piano music lessons for me during my childhood, I DEEPLY REGRET my lack of discipline and interest in those formative years to practice and pursue a career in music in some form. At best, the only thing that I can play today is a radio and I have to have instructions to do that most times….I’m old….What can I say!!!???…..LOL!!!! However, all is not lost and my Mother who passed away from cancer in 2019 would be pleased to know that I have a very special appreciation for music and art thanks to her!!! THANK YOU for sharing your love of music and rare and unique musical instruments with those of us like myself who are less musically inclined!!! What a TRUE JOY this has been to me and my partner this Holiday Season!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024 to you and yours!!!❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍😊😊😊P.S. PLAY ON, MY DEAR!!! PLAY ON!!!!👍😊

Beautiful and brilliant. I believe that music is the only lasting and significant thing that man has created in all of history and you are an excellent example of that beautiful creative achievement !!!

Absolutely fascinating. I play electric and acoustic guitar, banjo and dobro, but if someone placed any if these strange instruments you present here and in other videos before me, I wouldn't even know how to begin. That aside, these are beautiful sounds. Thank you for preserving these strange vehicles of music.

Many of them were actually created to be easy versions of more difficult instruments!

Beautiful! Block and strum is the original way to play instruments in the zither family. It is still used on Finnish kanteles. (Kanteles are zithers with no chords on the side.) The zithers with two octaves on one side and chords on the other are now called chord zithers. You can use strings in the chord section to extend your melody range. You do block and strum way better than me!

Just wonderful! The star-like, twinkly notes of the autoharp suit Christmas tunes perfectly. Thank you so much.

Absolutely amazing that your way sounds even better than the maker of this instrument intended. They would be so proud! I'm bingeing all your videos at what is now nearly four thirty a.m. and I find nyself running low on superlative words! I'll just use the favorite word of my kitty, Levi, who is also enjoying your imprompu concert...MEOWZA!

If someone asks me this, I usually say the Mountain dulcimer or ukulele. Uke if they like to sing with it, and dulcimer if they want to actually play the melody.
