Man I CANT WAIT for this throttle! A much needed upgrade from my orion2 F/A-18C throttle!

7:13 Friendly reminder: The finger lift kit has no switches. It is purely mechanic in nature to replicate the physical gates of the real throttle. You have the option to install two gates with the kit. One for off/idle and one for afterburner. However it is worth remembering there are no electrical/bindable switches in the finger lifts themselves. 10:05 Uhm... the F-15E uses pretty much the same stick as the F/A-18C. The only difference is that F/A-18C stick has a "shield" in front of the weapon select switch and it has an additional Recce switch. The shield is irrelevant and the Recce switch is actually useful to e.g. bind your center TrackIR or view point function. So really I doubt a separate F-15E stick is worth it, just use the F/A-18C one.

Hi @pricklyhedgehog72 , the Newer F-15E based jets (SA,IA,QA,EX) still have the base F-15E hotas. The "EX" that winwing is selling is like there F-16EX stick where it has additional buttons/axis on it but does not corelate to any actual aircraft version. Its just really confusing because of the new F-15EX that the USAF is buying. :D Thanks for the deep dive into this, I'm highly considering switching from my warthog setup to this and the stick as well.

I can see this being very helpful for those of us wanting something close to the A-10C HOTAS. When my TM Warthog throttle died I invested in the WinWing Orion and like it but the buttons/switches/hats don’t really line up well with my beloved Hog. This is a much better option than having to buy another overpriced and outdated TM Warthog throttle. Thanks for the info!

There is one additional small elevation style switch not mentioned. Located to the right of the coolie switch on the EX.

I am in need of an upgrade. This is coming at the perfect time. A November birthday present to my self 👍🏻. My T1600 throttle has been having issues. The TDC “stick” has been going rogue. No long use it. Only the button partook.

Now I just need them to release the new Z-axis for the sticks so I can steer and use the Apache in DCS again! Its been out of stock now forever and I have heard that the older one had problems and they are making a new version and I need it ASAP!!!

Nice info there. But please do something about the low frequencies echo on your voice. Put an equalizer on it and put a high-pass (or low-cut) filter at 120Hz. This should solve your problem.

thank you for this review. The big downside with the Orion2 base is that Windows no longer recognizes it after a few months, for some people. I know someone who has the problem and who is in contact with Winwing support and still no solution.

The rumble effect in my f-16 stick basically doesn't work. It's poorly implemented software side. Doesn't seem to work or there aren't any rumble profiles for the aircraft I fly. It's a great idea though(really! Great when it works). Stick is top notch BTW.

You don't need a separate flight stick for the F-15E; real world it's the same stick as the Hornet minus the recon button (WP increment button on the Harrier, which also has basically the same stick except the trim and castle switched are in the other's postions).

Good luck guys getting either of these in UK/Europe any time soon! The first two batches of stock (including the version that comes with the new Orion 2 Base) sold out within minutes of the website being updated (last night most recently). Also, with WinWing being in China the time difference means the re-stock goes live at 03:00AM in Europe. So unless you don't have a job and can stay up half the night just to click a mouse button a couple of times you're in for a very long wait to get these! Patience is a virtue they say.....🤣🤣🤣🤣

So, since you have only images to show, meaning you do not have the new product in your hands? I have the F-16EX which does have a vibrator built in, and it does give you some tactile feedback to let you know whats going on with your aircraft, I imagine this might be the same deal. I haven't played around with the programing of it though, they have a standard setting and you can download other people's profiles. I am in the market for a new throttle I am looking at Christmas to get it, I am curious as to how much more this will be compared to their F-18 throttle grips. still a big fan of your videos, but you might consider using the verb form "oriented" (a past participle) instead of the trendy orientated. granted many uk and Commonwealth English speakers seem prone to this sort of construction, but it is one syllable too many. (o.k., it is a pet peeve of mine. apologies.)
