Here’s what I did to make this a reusable form with which I can plan my “persuasion encounters” in advance: I took a piece of regular paper. I folded it in half, lengthwise. Then I folded that in thirds. Now I unfold it; I see six rectangles. I put the paper in “landscape mode”: Two rows, three columns. I make the top row represent *myself* I make the bottom row represent *the other person.* As for the columns: The first column is *DESIRE* The second column is *VALUES* The third column is *CRITERIA* Here are the labels I write on the top of each of the boxes: TOP ROW: 1) What do I want? 2) What’s important about that? 3) How will I feel when I get it? BOTTOM ROW: 1) What do they want? 2) What’s important about that? 3) How will they feel when they get it? Answering the top row questions will make me more: 1) visionary 2) clear 3) influential Answering the bottom row will make me: 1) persuasive 2) curious 3) in rapport The outcome? A *mutual project.* Thanks for this framework, I’ll be using it from now on 🤗

All great things if applied in ethical sales… if the product is not good for the world (planet &/or people) or won’t bring the benefits promised or if the individual would be best off not purchasing (because of their budget) then it’s no longer ethical sales. All these suggestions applied ethically are wonderful!

I actually have an entire program dedicated to context, values, criteria, and vision. Maybe I'll do a video summary of it. Kenrick is definitely a master. How can I persuade people to like and respect me. I would like to limit conflict in my life. IN the family and friends in my life..
@DamonCart
@DamonCart 2 жыл бұрын
First I would recommend that you not put your focus on making people like and respect you. You don't control other people. You can do all the right things and say all the right things and people still might not like you or respect you and you will then be disappointed and it will likely crush your self-esteem. Instead, focus on being authentic. You will attract the right people when you're true to yourself. Show genuine interest and curiosity in others and they will tend to like you, but don't focus on making them like you. Focus on your interest.

Hi Damon, I have a question that I'm hoping that you could help me with. I just got certified as a hypnotist and now I am looking to certify in NLP. Do you have any recommendations for where I can go to get my certifications? Do you offer certifications? I live in Toronto, Canada
@DamonCart
@DamonCart 4 ай бұрын
My suggestion is to not focus on certifications in NLP. They're mostly meaningless. Most institutes, even the most reputable ones, will hand certifications out to anyone who pays the tuition. There's no NLP organization that governs what institutes do, how they teach, or what they include in their teaching. The only true certification is your ability, knowledge, and how effective you are at using NLP on yourself and with other people. One of the biggest mistakes I see in NLP students is focusing on accumulating certifications and not actually learning anything or practicing. Certifications give people a false sense of having knowledge and ability they don't have. Then they go on to teach NLP courses themselves and they don't even understand what they're teaching. As a result their students don't actually learn anything. The basis of this KZfaq channel when I started it was to teach people, who had already taken NLP courses, what they should have learned in their courses. In other words they would pay a teacher thousands of dollars for the certification, but then watch my videos to actually learn what their teacher couldn't teach them. I created a thorough and inexpensive NLP Practitioner course based on a 24 day training (which is unheard of these days). It's real NLP. It's not watered down. You can find out more about it here: ultimatenlppractitioner.com/ I don't offer a certification for it. I don't certify people unless I test their knowledge and their abilities, which I do for my Self-Concept Coaching course. I've been teaching and coaching NLP for more than ten years and no one has asked for my certifications so don't think that you need them to coach or teach. Like I said there's no organization that oversees this and most NLP teachers these days don't know NLP well.

What is the difference between Influence and persuasion? Please help.
@DamonCart
@DamonCart 3 жыл бұрын
Influence is more passive and indirect. Think of a celebrity who uses a particular product. People will often also use that product even if the celebrity doesn't endorse it directly. He or she is not actively trying to persuade anyone to use the product. It is there presence that influences people to buy it. Strong leaders, popular and charismatic people have influence. Persuasion is the active communication that inspires people to take action or to be convinced of something.

Where do I even begin? You give me way too much credit. Even if you were right about my "seductive look" and my hand gesture, what good would it do me? If you really think that's what I was doing, you're either paranoid or gay for me or both while at the same time priding yourself on being so clever. How's that working out for you?

Jesus, I wish you’d get to the meat and potatoes quickly. I mean great info...but, really watered down it would be great to have a step-by-step first, do this, then do that, then practice this etc. You offer a lot of filler if I’m being honest. But thanks for the video

Before replying I rewatched the video. If I had to do this video over again, I wouldn't change it. I can't say that's true for probably half of my videos. If you're looking for something more robotic, which is easy to find in NLP, I'm not your teacher. What most people miss when it comes to persuading and influencing is the gaps I fill in this video. I see people making the same mistakes over and over again and it's because they're trying to follow a 3 step process without understanding why and how it works. Judging from your comment it sounds like you missed it as well. I recommend rewatching the video. Do it at double speed, if you need to. I watch most informational videos on KZfaq at double speed. In addition, dude it's free. It took me a lot more time and effort to create this video than it did for you to watch it. If you're not satisfied with that, I recommend changing. That mindset will hold you back.

Can you go straight to the point next time, this quantity of cheese is annoying

It took me only 90 seconds to get to the teaching part of this video (or cheese as you put it). This video is also 4 years old. Attention spans have shortened since then with the rise of TikTok. In my more recent videos I get to it quicker because of this. I recommend working on your patience. It's a free video after all. 90 seconds is a small price to pay.
