I wish just one time, even back in the early days when Blackmore was in the band, that someone would at least try to duplicate his solo off of Machine Head. Never heard it done before or since, only on the studio album. Is that too much to freaking ask? It seems like everybody just wants to start shredding when the solo comes including Blackmore, that lead break was so perfectly placed on the studio album I wish somebody would at least try to do it

Kelly McDonald Steve Morse played this solo in the Hall of hame live (2016) 😉 My guitar cover of this fanatic song had the most of the original too, but some Steve part on the end of the solo

new guitarists often don't want to blindly copy a solo, when they join a band. they often try to give it their own touch. that's basically always when a member of a band gets replaced. blindly copying basically never works out

Is it Blasphemy to criticize Legends? I guess so. I saw them live in 1998. 1972 was 41 years ago when they played at Wacken. You can see it. Legends may underperform top.

jeremy savage ripeto un conto il 72 un conto oggi, steve morse ha vinto 3 anni di fila il premio miglior chitarrista del mondo,qui ci sono altri chitarristi oltre lui è una festa.ascolta altre versioni forse lo apprezzi.i deep purple con blackmore hanno fatto 3 lp penosi

Jon Lord e Ritchie Blackmore sono coloro che hanno creato il tipico sound dei Deep Purple. Detto ciò, Steve Morse e Don Airey sono due grandissimi musicisti e da quando sono entrati nella band hanno dato il loro ottimo contributo. Inutile stare a pensare al passato, anche perché i dischi degli anni 70 restano, sono storia e se uno se li vuole ascoltare può farlo in ogni momento. Ma la vita va avanti e a me questi Deep Purple non dispiacciono affatto.

They do deliver in terms of power, but the solos are loose - which is shame. I saw them with Blackmore and then Morse - live they are damn good, but they are not as tight as say Genesis or Floyd. I take your point... Morse did not capture the crescendo on the solo as per Blackmore - which he is more than capable of doing. I just don't get that. Maybe just lazy....?
