3:46 Explanation of How the Laser Works
The LightForce CureLite is truly amazing! Prior to coming to PBISM, I had never heard of Deep Tissue Laser Therapy. I'm super blessed to be working with the incredible staff at the Palm Beach Institute of Sports Medicine. Super shout out to Dr. Conner "The Fixer" Colosi for helping me get my life back. Thanks to Bleith, Jordan, "The other" Conner, and Jonny back in the old days.
This laser therapy is only one function of therapy that I am receiving. There are many other therapies that we are also working on additionally. I'll keep showing up and keep getting better.
If you are considering Physical Therapy in the South Florida area, be sure to check them out!

Random stuff with Erick Martin there is so much more going on at this place than just the laser. I’ll keep truckin’ on! Ps...not sure why but I’m scared of the table!

Haha!! The place looks a little intimidating but you're getting the therapy that you need so rock on!!

Random stuff with Erick Martin actually not intimidating at all...it’s more like a gym with a lot of things they don’t have at the gym. Out of respect for the other patients I didn’t film everything. But for real...this place is first class, young, and hip...ie the opposite of me! Lol

How many treatments did you have? Will there be a max in the case there are no results? Was this covered by insurance? Was it worth it? How is your injury today?

Laura Chapman I had many treatments along with PT. I did both consistently with my bulging disc and was able to heal within 3 months. A couple years later I ended up with a herniated disc. Although the laser did help reduce the pain by lowering the inflammation...the end result was surgery for me. I have a 2nd channel on KZfaq called Rebecca Meyer Too. I talk about what I tried...what worked, what didn’t...and how I am recovering. As far as the laser...would really depend what your diagnosis is as it unfortunately is not covered by insurance. Hope you are doing ok. Hang in there...don’t stop fighting.

@@RebeccaMeyer Thank you for the quick reply. I have a 3rd degree sprain from 2015 and instead of it healing like a normal sprain, loose joint, my joint froze up. My doctor said it healed too well apparently. Lol I've had 2 ankle surgeries (by 2 different doctors), 2+ years of PT, which consisted of dry needling (that's torture) and grastoning, more torture. Lol I tried out 3 different physical therapy clinics. I also saw and still see a chiropractor, medical message, accupunture and even had a yin yoga study where my instructor made specific sequences for my ankle for 6+ months. Ive had a few cortisone injections pre-surgery which I didn't even know about and 2 post-op, but after the 2nd one, my ankle looked like a skeleton and the relief was not worth doing anymore and breaking down what little is left in my joint, so yeah, I've done a lot. I came across a post about someone using this laser and it supposedly kept them from having knee surgery. So, I was curious how it helped someone post-op. I met with the chiropractor on Monday and he does 8 treatments max, 2x a week, not covered by insurance either. Just looking for reviews on whether it's worth it it to spend the money. He said he has never had someone come in just for an ankle issue, but he has had 3 that he recalled and they did get relief. There aren't many 'real' reviews on patients, like you, so before I spend another $500, I wanted to do my research. Im trying every day to keep going. I know I have to do things on my own, which i do, but I don't want to have anymore surgeries, so anything im willing to try, but I don't want to waste my time either. Thank you again. I will try to find your other channel too... Sorry to hear you had to have surgery in the end. You never know how important a body part is until you lose function of it. Fingers crossed you are doing much better now.

Doing way way better...97% back to normal. With my place...I think they have me 1 or 2 freebie sessions. There are different types of laser you can get. Make sure it is class Iv and not just cold laser. That being said...never forget ice is your friend...I know what it means to keep trying different treatments. It actually took 5 Orthepedic’s and too many different treatments to find what really worked. Even if you like/love/adore your dr. Get a second opinion. I wish I had done that sooner. I’ll be thinking of you.

@@RebeccaMeyer That's great you are doing better and almost 100%, so that's amazing in itself. That's how I had my 2nd surgery, by getting a 2nd opinion. If I would have found my 2nd doctor the first time, then that might have alleviated a 2nd surgery altogether. I can't go back though. I didn't think to get a 2nd opinion the first time around, but I definitely should have. There are so many things I should have seen as 'red' lights, but this is my first major injury, so I had no idea what to do. I didn't think to ask much about my 1st surgery, but after 3 months of PT and breaking down weekly, I know something was wrong because the movement was not getting much better. My mom actually found my 2nd doctor and he basically told me what I found out the following week from my first doc. My first doc wanted to do a Halo device and that thing looked like torture in itself and I was like I only have a sprain! Lol I ended up leaving that doc for my new doc. You wouldn't know anything was wrong if you saw me walking. I can walk and run again which is amazing. I don't run every day but try 2x a week. It's just pretty stiff and I know it will only get worse as I get older too....I actually found a physical therapy place that has the laser I believe you had treatment with, by LightForce, and the one the chiropractor has is the MLS M6, both are class 4 lasers, one seems to be hand held and the other one moves on its own from video I've found. Im trying to see the difference between the 2, because I am not sure if the physical therapy one might be covered. I am going to call them on Monday for a consult though... Its funny when you think ice on a frozen joint. We always laughed at PT about it. But I know what you mean. I love doing water aerobics because there isn't so much impact on the joint. The journey forever continues. Thanks again for talking with me. :)
