I came upon your videos recently and I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching them. I share your philosophy on so many things. I love listening to your gentle and soothing voice in unison with the nature sounds and as a result I've come to often use your videos for relaxation to the point that by the end I'm able to easily drop off to sleep. As a young girl I often spent time alone in nature around my house and imagined myself living in the woods. I'd pack a lunch and find a quiet, often secluded place to just enjoy the sounds and sights of surrounding nature. I absolutely love trees. Watching your videos of cold and rainy weather is so soothing and I can feel the actual warmth myself of watching you in layered clothing beneath a waterproof tarp listening to the cold rain fall. I love the bits of poetry you display at the beginning of the videos and the music you choose is perfection. The photography is stunning....I feel like I'm right there. I too suffer from lifelong depression that comes and goes, as well as anxiety. As a result, even though I've worked two jobs most of my life and interact with people, in my awkward social life I tend to shy away from them, have a handful of people I trust and connect with, but it's mostly my pets I enjoy being with. They've never intentionally left me down or hurt me...except for when they cross that rainbow bridge. I agree with your views about the elite and Mars, etc.....I've thought the same things for many years. I've also had an encounter with something otherworldly and will never forget it and the night. Are you my soulmate?? Haha...I'm kidding. I thing I'm probably much older than you. From the U.S., Michael....thank you for your awesome videos. I've picked up quite a few pointers from them. Be safe out there.

Hi Patricia, Hey what lovely words...Thank you so much, it's the first time anyone's ever said I have a gentle and soothing voice...How lovely of you thank you🤗 Hey as long as I dont bore you to sleep heheh! 😂😉 Love that you shared your memories with me about when you were a girl that you would find comfort alone out in nature, you were just like me.. Oh yes the rainfall and listening to it pitter patter on the tent or tarp is truly wonderful isn't it. Getting all snug and warm and lying back is the pinnacle of a good wild camp, as it's done nothing but rain here..In fact it's raining at this very moment heheh! Thank you very much about my attempts at poetry😂I try my best as it's not normally something I'd do. Do you write poetry? I fully understand about how you live your life and find it's more complete with animals rather than other people. I'm of the same as you again and have very few folk around, but those I do I love very dearly. Love that ' rainbow bridge' what a sweet way of talking👍 Oh so you've seen things in the sky also, that's cool I'd love to hear about it some time Patricia. Thank you again for sharing your experiences and thoughts with me, you're so sweet 🤗🌳🌳🌳🌳 Hope you've had a nice day, all the very best to you 🌳🌳🌳🕊🌳🌳🌳 Mike

I liked your statement at the 1:03.20 mark... " All the time in the world" That's my thought when I'm camping or out in the woods. The Trangia's are great backpacking stoves, light , easy to pack , easy to use and quiet. I enjoyed your video , it's nice to see that it rains on someone else them myself. Here in Florida I have camped in Hurricanes , Tropical storms , numerous tropical downpours and our Summer thunder storms. When I can listen to some Owls sounding off during the night and rain on the Hammocks rain fly it's the perfect trip. No better sounds in this world when your camping.

Hi Chuck, great to hear you enjoyed watching my friend thank you. We sound very similar in our thoughts, and yes those trangia triangles are superb in every way. Heheh good job we enjoy the rain so much isn't it Chuck👍🏻😊👍🏻🌧🌳🌳🌳 Wow you have some serious weather over there to contend with, I'd love to wild camp in a tropical storm! That really would be epic, very testing but hey it's good to push ourselves and learn from experience. I completely agree owls and rainfall are awesome to hear whilst out on a camp my friend. Thank you very much for watching it's really appreciated Here's wishing you all the very best Mike

Hi there, thank you mate much appreciated 🤗🌳🌳🌳 Yes everything is going on a downward spiral and I get no joy from talking about it, it's mostly the rich and their unquenchable greed and lust for power. These type only look after their own, the 'get rich as quickly as possible attitude' and tread on other people whilst do so is sickening. No thought for others including the earth and her long term health whatsoever. Agreed my friend the Autumnal and winter weather is lovely, all the seasons have their own individual beauty Thank you very much for watching, here's wishing you all the very best Mike

Im here for that too, in the beginning I found ''bushcraft / wild camping'' through one of those ''this is my dayjob'' channels, I now never watch that or any channel like that, I prefer channels like Mike and others who are small and as you say, more down to earth - basically if Mike had 100k subs, I can see him still being the same person and thats what makes a good channel. Good to see another video from you big fella. Again, I'm watching it on a 16 hour nightshift but this time I'm going home to a few Amazon deliveries. Nothing massive; just a little Trangia burner and a versatile little bushcraft stove but it's a start. Guys like you have inspired me to get back into the camping lifestyle. I forgot down the years how nice it is to vanish and clear my head even more so when the rain is falling. Thanks for welcoming us back at camp. Happy trails. 🙂🔥

Premium quality video, thanks a lot!And you capture the beauty of the British countryside like no other. But I really admire most your inspiration and am so grateful for your confidence building and the encouragement that you you always offer your viewers to enjoy the outdoors. I am tomorrow having to live in a tent(new Vaude campo compact xt) for an indefinite period until I sort myself out,and watching your videos really has taken the fear factor out of the equation for me.I just hope two things: 1) I can find a beautiful peaceful spot same as you always find, and 2)that the "green"tent that I ordered on a website doesn't appear bright fluorescent disco green in real life! Have small £100 a week work pension which is ample to live on.But when I have settled in the wild camp site for a few days and gathered my confidence again I can with luck get work again. My pride won't let me go down the dole merchant route yet,but may come to that if i can't get work soon.Sliding rapidly downwards at the moment but all you wild camping guys are giving me a chance to tackle it all. Thanks mate, keep up the good work. You really are a pioneer and shining light in these spiritually dark days! Take care mate, best wishes and thanks again.

Hi Jon, aw thank you so much! What a super lovely comment from your good self. That's it Jon, fear not the woodlands and forests they belong to us all not just the wealthy landowners. But we must always respect the landowner and of course the woodlands themselves, if discovered then if your camp is tidy and no litter to be seen then you're set for the best possible outcome if you've been discovered. To find those lovely peaceful spots as you know you've got to get as far away from any trail as possible. To places where the only trails around are made by animals and not humans. All I can do is thank you for your kind words, and wish you all the very best for now and the future. I'm sure youll find work but if you have to claim dole money there's no shame in that mate. This is just a turning point in your life and I'm sure things shall change for the better. Obviously I hope (I'm sure you are) that you're not far from fresh water and ready for the frosts. Thank you for talking to me about what you're doing, I do hope that others know of your whereabouts Jon. The darkest and longest of tunnels cannot go on forever, light is always at the end of any tunnel my friend. Please keep intouch with me and anyone else. Take care, be safe and never sleep cold... Bless you 🌳🌳🌳🕊🌳🌳🌳 Mike

Hi Mike, sorry for the very late reply!! Have only just seen your lovely kind message. Thank you so much for taking the time to write to me! I am OK now thanks, have found a place that gives me free rent in return for a couple of hours cleaning in the morning, so have a base to build from now thankfully. Was wild camping for about 6 weeks only and the weather was damp but not really cold. Found a lovely spot in the woods north of Chichester. Wonderful listening to the deer and foxes barking at night and the owls screeching, the wind blowing through the branches. Knowing that you are the only one hearing it all is a real privilege. I never slept so well TBH. I bought 2 cheap sleeping bags and put one inside the other so was plenty warm at night. Surprised actually how good some of the cheap gear is nowadays compared to when I was younger. Tent was large enough to be comfortable but was not really strong enough. Unfortunately the inner tent material was a delicacy to woodmice so ended up with more ventilation than I desired... You are so right Mike water is the most important and lugging it into camp is worth the effort. Bought a Trangia after watching your videos and they are fantastic. Cheapest fuel from Toolstation;worth buying a big bottle of methylated spirits. Lasted me a couple of weeks with heavy use. Have a new respect for homeless people now. The downward spiral is very rapid; in one week only you can face despair. But there are still a few good people out there that care(people like you Mike)! If anybody finds themselves in that situation just try to stay focused and keep your self respect and discipline. Stay organized and keep planning and building for future health and well-being. Living in the peace and tranquility of the woods rebuilds a broken spirit and gives you valuable, undisturbed thinking time. Thanks Mike, leaving no trace and cleaning up the campsite is very important. Not only is it the decent thing to do but also is very pleasing to the eye! Anyway Mike, thanks again for the kind words and I look forward to all your upcoming videos in 2020 and wsh you many years of happiness both out in the wilds and also in your personal life with family and friends. Very best wishes to you. Cheers, Jon.

Not seen you in a while Mike but its an absolute pleasure to be watching you again. And I have the One Tigris Tipinova, I just bought it and what you said about a modern day polish lavvu applies to that as well. Single skin and weighs just over a kilo, loop on top or trekking pole / stick as a pole. Really fine midge proof big netting on the door and loads of vents. If anybody like me likes the lavvu but can't get hold of a large or wants a modern high tech lightweight hiking friendly version, get the tent Mike's showing here or the Tipinova. I don't see point in nodding a heavy lavvu to get half the features of a lighter tent like this one. Peace

Hi there, hey fantastic to hear you enjoyed the video I never intended it being that long! I think I just usually edit a little heavier than I did with this one...Guess it gives more of a raw feel this way. Ah yes the UFO that really was so very strange that night, no breeze no sound and no other people or traffic. It's quite near a main road that has plenty of traffic, not in that evening though...Seemed like it went on forever but only an instant lol, one experience I'll not forget. A ghost encounter, well maybe I could of added something along those lines but definitely nothing as solid as the UFO'S or whatever they were. Hi, Mike! Love your videos, especially the rainy ones! Love the sound of rain on a tent / tarp. One thought, though: you talked about avoiding the fat in your cooking. In actual fact, the only bad fat here is the olive oil, after it has been heated. Olive oil is, indeed very healthy if used COLD but when heated, it undergoes a molecular change and becomes toxic - it is then as unhealthy as ordinary cooking oil. All the other ingredients in your fry-up are healthy (bacon fat included). Use lard of beef dripping for frying! Natural fat is NOT fattening, nor does it cause blocked arteries! I have researched this subject extensively since I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, about 12 years ago. The 'fat-is-bad-for-you ' mantra is based of flawed research from many years ago. Keep on trekking! ...Jim

I see I've purchased most of the European-made basics I've seen you using, not to mention your DD tarps and hammock. lol And it was interesting to see your stainless steel US GI mess kit... I was in Belgium and Germany 20 some years ago and visited the battlefields where my father had fought, some of which happen to be in Belgian and German national parks now. A lot of the area in the Ardennes is virtually untouched from 1945! Besides munitions, shrapnel, etc, I found several GI mess kits of the aluminum variety, with scratched in initials and even drawings, and cellophane packets from the MRI drink packets. Amazing. This brought it all back for me. I've had one striking experience with unidentified flying objects myself, in 1973 during a multi-day campout in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico. The lights I saw were strikingly odd for their abrupt stops and complete change of direction with very rapid acceleration, as you mention, and something we're recently seeing described in declassified UFO sightings by US military pilots. Happy for you that you got out again. Carry on! atb from the Oregon coast, Diana PS We have had spectacular 'blooms' of mushrooms this fall. Amazing variety and quantity.

Hi Diana, very cool thanks for sharing! Such nice info you gave us here. about mushrooms I started foraging early 2019 so I am still new to this but this Autumn (Fall) was great! I finally got my first Boletus and Giant Puffballs! plus all of the other fungi whether edible or not, unfortunately in / around London UK we had a seriously droughty start to the summer season and hence the May / June period for mushroom foraging was not good at all. according to other UK foragers this year's fall was a very good one. Cheers Chris

I bring earplugs on every trip.. I’m a super light sleeper and hear every single sound around me. I wouldn’t get a wink without them

Hi Jeff, I've thought about that myself and I happen to use the foam insert type at work so there's no shortage of them. I guess if its raining hard there's no chance of hearing anyone approaching camp anyway, so the earplugs would be ok in this instant. I'll add some to my kit, thank you for the idea Jeff you're a star🌟👍🏻 Thank you for watching and here's wishing you all the very best 🌳🌳🌳🕊🌳🌳🌳 Mike

What is it with you guys and rain?? I bloody hate it. :) I have the updated version of your little lamp. It now has a solar panel on top and a USB port for charging your phone. Great little light. Regards JB.

Hi Jim, heheh I find it hard to believe that you dislike wild camping in the rain mate, dont you get a comforting feeling when you hear rainfall on a tent or tarp? Very interesting 👍🏻🌳🌳🌳 The rainfall for me takes me back to camping with my grandparents years and years ago, that's where my real passion for it comes from. Ah yes! The solar panel ones, I've seen those not sure how effective the panel is... Thank you for watching Jim, great to hear from you All the very best Mike

@@xCodeView I dont mind the camping / sleeping in the rain. Just dont enjoy the walk in / out with wet gear. Think I am a little spoilt because we dont get a lot of rain on the south coast.
