I do much prefer sleeping in a mummy bag as you described... feet inside the box, but open like a quilt over top, whether in a tent or hammock. Also, although possibly I am not typical, as a person nearing the end of my life I have discovered that the memories which keep coming back to me most vividly and joyfully are those I spent in the wild, whether alone or with others. I am most grateful to everyone who helped facilitate my being in some of the many beautiful places on earth. I have been very blessed. And (as a little side note to Karen) I have discovered that the 'intimate' times I shared with another in the wild, on the ground, have stayed with me with a vividness that is truly amazing. Just a little tip....

You seem to be a man in search of peace and that makes your videos all the better for it. Our kids break our hearts even as we are proud of their achievements, don't they mate. When you chunter on it touches my soul so don't stop eh. Maybe it's a generational thing I don't know. Whatever it is keep doing it.

Hello from Virginia! I thoroughly enjoyed your video and your photography work is wonderful. You really captured the beauty of the forest and the water source; those tiny waterfalls are captivating and it's no wonder homeowners try to emulate them in their waterscape areas of the yard. That burger sure looked delicious. Food always tastes so much better outdoors, especially at camp. I've had my OneTigris Bungalow 2.0 for several months and I love it. The awning makes a huge difference from my other tents. I love your country. My wife and kids were all born in Chelmsford just north of London. I served two tours at RAF bases, one in Essex and the other in Suffolk. My sons and I fished and camped everywhere as I pulled a trailer filled with gear. We had so much fun. I loved and respected how you talked about your son. All my kids live on the West Coast in Covid infected California so we haven't been able to visit them at all in 2020. The year 2021 looks suspect with the new strains entering the mix.

Regarding the humming in the woods you are not going mad! I have been reading about this for several years! Most cases are followed by a headache! This was discussed by David Paulides of Missing 411! Fascinating and still no resolve but definitely a real affect on people out n the woods!! Be aware and be safe. Really enjoy your videos!❤️

A good day to you, and thank you for the video. I figured there would be a post of yours along and so it is. Decent looking tents and nicely made. Midges? I expect they may find a way through your mesh! We call our variety "no-see-um" and the little burgers can get through very fine mesh. Good luck...lol. They prevail, and overlap black flies which we have an abundance of in spring and the "mossies" which show up in the summer. Any blood one has left our assortment of ticks will deal with...lol. Always something to look forward to!

The humming sound i had when i was younger 12 and only happend at night, i thought it was a bee or blue bottle in my bed room and mum and dad always checked the room but was all clear lol and it was just in my ears the humming sound, think it stopped when i was 15. Funny you mention the hum, the only place I can of think that I haven't heard that is last year when I was up close to Oban by Loch Awe. I sat there and suddenly realised that this was the first time I've not heard the droning hum of built up traffic from the roads, electricity (so I've heard it said), air traffic from a long way off, ships etc. My usual camping spots are off in the islands around Scotland and a lot of the time you hear the hum and I'm sure some of it is ships in the distance, the engine noise carries so well over calmer water. Anyway, hope you're doing well with all of what's going on and that you'll be getting out again soon. I'm looking forward to your next upload. It's nearly time to get out and about for me! I agree with you on the comfort level of a sleeping bag used as a quilt and have been doing it for 47 yrs. I originally started doing it after a girl was hauled away in her sleeping bag and killed by a grizzly bear in Glacier National park. The zipper on the bag was caught up and she couldn't escape the bag. We have alot of bears here. I very much enjoyed this video, thank you.

Nice video! I recently began to experience the low humming too. It's like a droning - like a big muffled engine running. I thought I was going nuts. I'd call my wife and kids over and ask if they hear it. They always gave a puzzled look like, "hear what??" I discovered that it's a physiological effect within the inner ear and/or auditory nerve. Try this in a 'quiet' place where you're hearing the hum. Turn your head one way and the other. Also tilt your head up/down/left/right. Depending on your head position, you can make it louder or make it subside. It's not a cure but more of a sanity check. Lol From what I've researched, it is a form of tinitus. Best wishes!

Hi Mike, good to see you out destressing again. We all need to do that on a regular basis! That low bass humming that you mentioned I have heard it too the last couple of years! Another great video, Mike. Peaceful and relaxing time in the woods. I mean who needs to buy a garden water feature when that lovely stream was millions of times better! Also, your tent really blended in with the died-back bracken and leaves on the woodland ground. Which is how it should be! Sequence of sunrise through trees with music was so lovely - a classic match of music and images. So please keep up the good work whenever you can. I'm grateful.

I have just watched the best video I have ever seen. I have tennitis. I'm 59 years YOUNG, my hearing is bad as well, for the same reasons. And yet I can be out where I can see for miles in the hills of Idaho, Oregon, Nevada & Arizona and have for at least the past decade sometimes heard like an engine running. And if there happens to be someone with me, which is RARE, I ask & they hear nothing. Thanks for the GREAT video, And all the heart felt sharing. TAKE CARE..

I use my OneTigris Bungalow 2.0 when overland camping and need a smaller footprint due to the terrain; otherwise use a Gazelle T4 Plus. It can be backpacked but I prefer a tarp then. I added extra tent stakes as it was short three stakes if fully deployed and two tent poles by Green Elephant to add to the trekking poles used in the main part of the tent. The tent poles support the awning which I love to use. If heavy rain or snow is falling I'll add another tent pole in the center of awning but adjust it to a longer length which helps promote runoff. The beauty of the awning use is you can set up a folding table and camp chair and cook under it, even if it's raining or snowing. I've never closed the awning as it would get awfully stuffy in the tent.
