What would it be like to live forever? Immortality is the promise of most religions, thwarting the looming fateful finality of death. Everything in science screams 'Impossible!' Even the universe will not last forever. How then to understand #immortality?

This channel is losing so many subscribers and respect because it has gone from profound and respectable scientific insight into what we cant recognise anymore. Even the host is confused by the silly quests your having recently.

I’ve viewed more Closer to the Truth(s) than I can remember. Nobody gets Mr. Kuhn worked up like Mr. Chopra does. I can’t help but think, its because he knows Mr. Chopra is closer to the truth ,than his other guests…

People need to realize, our life is like electricity. We are all one source of electricity in different light bulbs. Bulbs might die, get smashed etc but electricity does not die with it. The same electricity powers 100000 light bulbs, so its an illusion that they are separate, its the same power source expressing itself in different forms. Its the same with (what people call soul) we are the same source of consciousness expressing itself in many different forms, creating illusion of separateness . There is no such thing as an individual soul, it's a fairytale that other religions created because of an ego, people are attached to their identity, friends, belongings and achievements so they want to hang on to it even after passing on, this is fictions. Once you realize that you and your family are ONE anyway, you will not fear it. We will all eventually be back in that same ocean of life, not as the people we know today but as ONE being or non being i should say

It's going to feel just like the 13.5 billion years before you were born. It wasn't painful or scary. What makes a book good is that it has a begining and an end, the reason a cake is great is it has a start and an end. Infinte life would be meaningless.

I love this channel, and I’m thrilled it’s getting a good number of subscribers. But...I feel that Chopra is full of it, and is as close to being a fraud as we can get. We know almost nothing of consciousness. In another part of his interview, he states that he has a “deep understanding of consciousness.” He’s just BSing. He takes different points of science, and confuses it. His conclusions don’t follow from his arguments. He makes me tired.

I agree with your opinion about dipak. He compares life and death with being awake or sleep. While sleep every cell of our body is supplied with oxygen and nutrients whereas when we die no longer Oxygen and nutrients are circulating in any part of our body/brain and therefore the memory and consciousness are gone too.

Conscious + Mind = Consciousness. Conscious is Universal and Mind is bodily. At death body dies with Mind and conscious exist as immortal and Universal. But Conscious alone without Mind can not generate Consciousness. So even Conscious live after death, it is at Unconsciousness state. You will not feel you are alive after death. One unit of specific Conscious can couple with only one specific Mind like dialed signal for a targeted mobile phone. Conscious also leave mind at sleep and you do not feel you are alive even your body is not dead at sleep.

A lot of hate for this guy!? I watched two episodes in a row with Robert Tanzi and Stuart Hammerof. It was their reference and agreement with Chopra that led me to this video. I've always view our western academics and ideals to be skewed by monotheist based hierarchies. And eastern philosophies have maintained a strong pervasive belief in polytheistic but wholistic beliefs. There are similarities in humans and cultures from east to west on almost everything. The lines are very blurred. Until you get to spiritualism and ontology. This to me is where the key divide appears. Although there is a lot to be said of the pass over of knowledge between early East and West with the Alexandrian cities and empires of central Asia. Chopra definitely comes across as being rather aloof of Kuhn, like he's schooling a child. He probably believes he is too. I prefer Kuhn's approach to interviewing and philosophical debate. But I think Kuhn is lost in Chopras lack of scientific words and description. I think Chopra is often not taken so seriously because his use of very specific meta-scientific language is quite limited. Chopra uses more common words for quite specific subjects, which through Kuhn, and anyone else used to dividing those meanings. I think Kuhn's statement about considering Chopra a friend was a bit disingenuous. It might be Kuhns word to describe a mind of similar academic interests, but it doesn't mean he enjoys his company..

Yep, this is how two thirds of the people in the world are imagining stuff. It's all OK what he said, except he forgot to mention we are aware of our astral journeys because our body is still alive and able to send conscious signal over some old neural pathways we call memory. Part of our mind is imagining he is and other parts fire up internal light, projecting illusions of past and future to our self aware master ego. All logic and clear so far, except we could ask ourselves how does electromagnetic radiation connect over distance, meaning what is the space between photons of mind? Photons are pulses inside EM field, they are a wave, but separated from a hole somehow. It's simple if we talk in electronics or optics terms, except there are no diodes and transistors inside our body, not really, it's more like consciousness is a light that is not photons. And this is impossible as far as i understand physics, there can be no information before superposition of particles occur. Mind does not disturb EM flow, it can reproduce photons of dreams before energy became real photons. This would suggest part of us can exist inside non materialized space, like light can have life of it's own and this is a very weird concept, since mind is supposed to be constructed from material information, but it doesn't work like that.

@@reculture What big words, this is philosophy, not science class. I was talking about light we can see with our brains, was trying to describe the difference with real photons. Sorry for my bad English, it's global English anyway, we must improvise to share ideas, but it's better than nothing.

Unless we are non human? It would be like it is now but longer-wink. Ok,but seriously folks, old memories would fade away into fragments if not all gone. Parents?..You know you had them...but after that it would take holographs to keep them fresh. For poor live forevers who say lost all in a fire?..I bet nothing for thousands of years..millions is retained. You would keep fresh by learning to be somebody else...farmer to watchmaker. Children?..yeah, a few million of them is just wishing things went well for them. Imagine how many times life would fluctuate from horrible to win the lotto..over and over peaks and valleys. Suicide would keep the universe from filling with humanoids.
