The main principles of Buddhism/Daoism is mindful of self and of others. Balance is the key to life. Being mindful of oneself helps in the midnfullness of others. a recovery mate said something to me earlier which I am glad I reached out to inquire what he meant. he says "selflessness to avoid responsibility" isn't selflessness. In order to be mindful of other, you must be mindful of oneself; in action, in reaction and just being. actions have consequences; positive or negative. at the end of the day working on oneself is the step to being mindful of those around.

If something is boring for a minute, think about it for 2 minutes. If it’s still boring after 2 minutes, think about it for 4 minutes, etc. Eventually, it won’t be boring anymore.
