Make a gorse/whin flower toddy when you're feeling off/poorly. Basically: make a gorse flower tea, add lemon, honey and whisky. Some folk swear by it. Auld East coast Scottish thing.

As for the bunnies, when I lived in Spain the local cantina had rabbits on the roof, you choose your size and boom, dressed and cooked on the coals in front of you with roasted peppers and home fried long chips in duck fat. Halcyon days indeed.

Handy way of squeeze gutting is to put it on your thigh as you squeeze it. Handy in the field if you are carrying a few rabbits. But never squeeze gut a rabbit taken with a shotgun. Great rabbit dish: brown a jointed rabbit well in some fat add in chunky carrots, onions and celery. Season with salt, pepper, garlic and thyme. Cover with ale (larger will do but ale is best), add a stock cube. Simmer until bunnies are just tender, throw in a handful of prunes and cook until meat is tender and the liquid is reduced by half. You can mash the prunes up to thicken the sauce or eat as. For those who eat carbs dust the jointed rabbit in seasoned flour before frying.

Clay pig tongue is the best we used to eat it up in Thailand, the wife never told me what it was till I'd scoffed the lot she did that a lot. Thai surprise was always on the menu.

Here's a story for ya. not far down from the Rye Valley in the sounds I was working on a rotary shed and the farmer was a great chap who gave me access to bow hunt at the back of the farm. I had taken the bow for a walk a lot in previous years but saw very few animals up close but this day I was walking up into an old skid clearing and other side of a gorse bush was a yearling facing away drinking from a puddle. Well I got such a rush at this stroke of luck that I issued an explanative maybe a bit loud while ducking and loading up and as I turned to point the sharp end his way I come face to face at five yards and saw that his mum whom I hadn't seen was face on to right at maybe eight yards. They looked and I looked and loaded up frozen they bounced gracefully into a gap in the gorse and disappeared. The rush of it all was not unlike your fallow incident.

I always remember the time,well one of the times we went into Countryside rabbitting with my ferret & @ the corner of the farmers field was a lot of movement,so we walked up & it was a sheep wrapped up in barbed wire. So we got it lo0se & it ran,but my bro & law l0oked over the field & pointed out to me,all the magic Mushro0ms & he muttered that is why that sheep eneded up wrapped up like that,it tried to run through the fence & got caught up. Well i seen all these Mushies for my own eyes,but i wondered if it was true,do sheep & other Grazers get a kick of the Mushro0ms & get into that king of mess. If anyone knows i believe you wouldf? Anyways LOVED this Video & Awesome you got great results in your Hunts & i will be trying to make Kims Scones & the road side singing from the wee Girl was Cool.

I hit the bottom of life 6years ago and ended up in Hillmorton for two years, I came out alive but broken. I was a meat shooter heli shooter bushman underground coalminer, tough as they come until the black dog got me and my friends went from 40 to 10 tops, you don't get to have many REAL friends when you suffer a mental illness, you become a leper you find people really don't want to sit next to you in case they have to make conversation with you and they become scared of you as you might become dangerous, so you retreat from there world and withdraw from life as you knew it, and its all because they lack knowledge about mental sickness so I don't hold any grudge against them just sadness that they will never understand the hurt we feel that brings us to a real bad place that only we know about.

100%.on that mate you soon find out who your real friends are when you get bloody sick as as I am now.but I won't forget if I make it through this.
