Its all fun until you wake up @ 03:00 with the stove out and -30c and you have run out of kindling to restart the stove 😄 But the challenge has always been the attraction to me 👍 Hope you are doing well - Looks like you guys are going to get hit with some heavy snow soon ❄️

@@TheEmporiumOutdoors right now it’s just a little bit of snow but they’re saying tomorrow morning is going to be a sketchy ride into work. I’m right on Lake Michigan so sometimes the lake will warm up the snow into rain. We shall see. But yeah there’s a pretty big system right now over us.

Yup - Its about the same weight with some nice feature, like the double wall and glass door. A grinder and a bit of welding will fix it 😉

Hey Mark - Glad to hear from you!! I keep up with all your videos 👍 For a mic system I recommend the DJI Mic - It has 2 wireless transmitters (for interviews, 2 is great), can be used with an iPhone, android phone or normal 3.5mm jack input. I just got an iPhone 15 Pro so I'm using that with an DJI OSMO 6 gimbal for b-roll, selfie shots - So far so good! The DJI Mic plugs in the side of the iPhone and just works beautifully. I have a Sony A7IV full frame camera, but I would not recommend it honestly, unless you like photography in general. Too complicated and expensive to take to tough places. I would maybe take a look at the Sony ZV-1 Mk II with the VLOG kit or the Sony AX43A/AX53 Camcorder . I also have the DJI Action 3 which is a great camera. Hope that helps! 👍

Hi Michael. Thanks for your response. I purchased a Canon M50 a few years ago and have been enjoying using it. I have been thinking of going with something smaller and simpler and more weather resistant. I have been using the RODE Wireless Go mic system. I hd it replaced by RODE twice as it started producing a lot of noise. I am about to replace my cellphone so maybe I will start using that or buy a decent action camera like the DJI@@TheEmporiumOutdoors

@@MarkYoungBushcraft Hi Mark - The M50 is a great camera but I know what you mean about something simpler. What I like about the DJI mic is it connects via USB-C or lightning connector directly to the phone or Action cam (DJI Action). I had the rode mic and sold it. The DJI Action has a rear and forward screen so its great for working solo! Have a great day! 👍

Hi Juddie! Thanks for the comment. Typically the damper on smaller stoves is closer to the stove body so that the gases are kept as much inside the stove as possible for warmth and full combustion. I don't think moving the damper up would change things very much. The likelihood of fully damping down for sleep is unlikely, as you keep a little open to prolong the fire and not put it out. HOWEVER, if the damper was slightly open for sleep and it started to clog, smoke could pour out during the night and cause a serious risk to life. All other stoves I've owned don't exhibit this issue. I really want to fix this stove as there is more right with it than wrong but I have to be honest with the viewers, and warn them of the possibility of smoke inhalation during normal operation. 👍
