I think one of the reason they haven’t capitalized off her popularity with a undeniable hit is because she’s signed to another artist’s label, Parkwood which is Beyoncé’s label. I like Beyoncé’s artistry and longevity, so don’t come after me hive. There’s this unspoken rule that an artist should never sign to another artist label, because they will never let you get higher than them, and Beyoncé is actively putting out music thus making Chlöe competition or the lack of due to B pulling the strings. I’m not saying that B has ill intentions, but it’s not a smart idea. Her sister has already started to take more on acting as of right now. Just look at all the promising artists who signed to another artist’s label, and see how long they stayed on the scene. Jay-z even felt some type of way(mentioned in his verse on Boss by him and Beyoncé), because Drake wouldn’t sign to his label which I think was smart on Drake’s part.

The only artist I've seen get pushed constantly by another artist label is Rhianna with Roc Nation. And that's only because Jay Z makes a lot of money off Riri, music and business wise.

Chloe's music sounds the way it does because she made it a point to make her first album flow right in amongst her contemporaries (songs about dealing with heartbreak and fuckboys, being the baddest, overtly freaky both lyrically and visually in her videos, etc.) such as SZA, Summer Walker, Jhene Aiko and the likes. She didn't want to be looked at as the "good girl" of R&B because she wants to eventually be the next "queen" of the genre and in this age the title really doesn't even exist anymore in the way it used to....

Taylor Swift may not have a loud voice, but she has a distinct sound and a wide lower register range and she has technique, which means she knows how to utilize her vocals. Rihanna on the other hand has a unique voice that makes her standout but she tends to be quite lazy for live performances. She is the example of a lack of training, to be honest.

No it was because it was a mariah song, once the notes got higher thats were she struggled. The video is biased af because not only he picks a old video, he picks one where she's singing a song that wasn't made for her voice. She did good though, I don't know most 15-16 year olds who would bravely sing, especially if it was gonna be recorded.

Anyways, she was clearly having issues that aren’t normal at the end of Hero, because she was still cracking after the climax when the notes became lower. Since then, she performed a song that’s imo harder than Hero called “Kisses Don’t Lie” where she actually SUSTAINS high notes with vibrato. She did it so well in Manchester 2007
