The heat shield isn't normally rivetted, theres one bolt at the bottom and, as I recall, one bolting it from behind to the manifold. The latter is accessible through a hole in the heat shield is easy to get out and areal bugger to get back in.

Gracias amigo, el mío a estado una semana con éstos síntomas. Por ahora se quitaron sin hacer nada. Si vuelve hacerlo se lo hago, no soy mecánico y con éste vídeo me animaré.

Brilliant video, great detail too. Thanks for mentioning the extra time spent freeing it up off camera. Has the egr been removed. My Disco has similar symptoms at 2800 rpm when heavy acceleration, fine under constant acceleration.

You shouldn't need to drill out the rivets. There should be a hole in the back of the heat shield where you can fit a socket and undo the whole bracket from the manifold. Maybe that's with later Td5s though?
