In this clip, Team Canada runs a masterful Sagging Zone setup. They run it almost identically to the way we describe it in the Coaches’ Training Course (see link above). The only real difference is that they give their players more freedom to interchange positions--which is completely acceptable at this level of play.

Great breakdown, very well done. Only comment is 8 is Doughty and 16 is Toews.

Excellent live footage to go along with your sagging defensive zone chalk talk. When a player watches the live action along with watching your chalk talk and diagramming, they really are able to begin to understand the positions and responsibilities involved in defensive zone coverage. That footage is painful to watch as an American. Still, the whole "sagging zone" was executed at a level like no other.
