Fun Fact: They actually made new updated Palutena's Guidance conversations in Smash Ultimate for the characters not in Smash 4 who made it in as part of the Ultimate starting roster. There is a surprising amount of them honestly. Ultimate added conversations for; Bayonetta, Chrom, Cloud, Corrin, Daisy, Dark Samus, Ice Climbers, Incineroar, Inkling, Isabelle, Ken, King K. Rool, Lucas, Mewtwo, Pichu, Piranha Plant, Pokemon Trainer, Richter, Ridley, Roy, Ryu, Simon, Snake, Wolf, and Young Link. In addition to those; Ganondorf, Ike, Link, Mii Gunner, Robin, Sheik, Wario, and Zelda all got new updated conversations. Unfortunately since they were DLC later in the game; Joker, Hero, Banjo & Kazooie, Terry, Byleth, Min-Min, Steve, Sephiroth, Pyra & Mythra, Kazuya, and Sora all missed out on getting conversations and have a generic "No information" conversation shared between them all.

Pit, Palutena, and Viridi (and Dark Pit) are the incarnations from the 3DS game "Kid Icarus: Uprising". Pit and Palutena had only previously existed as pixel sprites, so when Brawl came out, people were surprised to see them with new 3D models, and speculated that a new game might be in the works. Few years later, we get Uprising, and boy is it a fun game. Wish the convos had Hades in a couple of them, he is a treat.

The Snake codec calls for Smash Bros. is also definitely worth a watch, Snake is hilarious.

Zelda doesn't have a multiverse, it has different timelines (without counting the non-canon) games. Nintendo actually released a timeline for it

the "Mii" guy who had a lot of forms is actually a Nintendo avatar for the player that first appeared on the Wii. there are 3 styles to choose from for a very basic "create a character" type thing.

So fun fact, a channel called Zelda Universe made their own versions of Palutena’s Guidance, complete with voice acting that sounds just like the original actors. They focus more on mii costumes and dlc characters, but it’s also done like how it would appear in the game There’s also joke ones they made called Hades Misguidance which goes more into parody territory, but they’re still fun to watch

Shulk is from the Xenoblade series. Not sure if it's exactly y'all's cup of tea but it just ended its story a month ago with the third game's DLC. Could be worth checking out if you want to learn more as it is a person favorite series of mine.

Pit and Palutena both originated in the original Kid Icarus on NES, Palutena was that game's "damsel in distress". Then after like two decades, Kid Icarus Uprising came out on 3DS, where Palutena is more of a deuteragonist who leads Pit throughout the game. Uprising is where these funny fourth-wall-breaking personalities came from, Viridi and Dark Pit are also from Uprising! Anyway this was super fun to watch, hope you guys do the Palutena's Guidances from Ultimate aswell!

So in Smash brothers ultimate, they did more Palitena’s guidance for the new characters introduced there, like Squirtle or Bayonetta, which is quite a lot all things considered. Perhaps enough to do a part two later on?

Fun Fact: Duck Hunt's Guidance is actually a little different if you're in europe, due to they begin called "Duck Hunt Duo" here in europe the beginning is the same but it also include: "These two might be called Duck Hunt Duo, but in some ways, it's kind of like they're a trio." with Pit asking "you mean it's 3 on 1?!"

These conversations are a reference to Kid Icarus Uprising, directed by the same director as Smash, where the characters would pretty frequently talk on the bottom screen while you play. Smash captures the writing style VERY well. It's one of the funniest games I've ever played.

About the "multiple incarnations of Link, Zelda, and Ganon" thing: There's actually a timeline that loosely connects the games and shows that they all take place over several millenia. Basically, in Skyward Sword (the first game in that timeline), the villain puts a curse on the first Link and Zelda that he'll come back to fight their reincarnations again and again, and thus a cycle begins that causes almost all of the other games to happen (apart from the one or two games where Ganon doesn't appear). It's pretty interesting; you should totally watch a video on the timeline at some point. But just be aware: it gets a bit confusing when Ocarina of Time is brought into the picture.

Shulk is from Xenoblade Chronicles! (The lines that Pit said were victory quotes that Shulk’s friend says after a battle). Xenoblade is a really great series that gets better each entry! All of them are Switch exclusive with 3 main line titles and a spin off “Xenoblade Chronicles X” which was only on the Wii U and was never ported to switch. The characters Pyra and Mythra who came in as DLC are from Xenoblade 2.

Her abrasive attitude - especially toward humans - is a testament to the saying "nature can be cruel". - The Shadow Bug comment on Mr. Game & Watch is a reference to Brawl's Adventure Mode, The Subspace Emissary. The Shadow Bugs that form the Subspace Army's monsters are actually extracted from Mr. Game & Watch's body. Oh, but he's primarily based on the Game & Watch series. - Sheik is from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. She's actually Zelda disguised as a Sheikah, in order to conceal her power from Ganondorf. The gender-ambiguous appearance does help. - In Brawl (Pit's debut game as well), Ike appeared as he did in Path of Radiance. In For, his look comes from the sequel, Radiant Dawn. - Chrom is technically the protagonist of Fire Emblem Awakening, but has been relegated to Robin's Final Smash. He does become playable in Ultimate (and the Guidance on Robin changes). - Gordos are actually spiky balls. They're typically stationary, or float in a set path. - It's common for Meta Knight's mask to break off every time Kirby defeats him. And yes, he pretty much looks like Kirby (though with stark white eyes). - Yeah, Falco actually is a pheasant. All the members of Team Star Fox are based on creatures that are prominent in Japanese folk tales (fox, pheasant, hare, toad). - To be fair, Charizard are typically about 5 and a half feet tall - which does loom over the young Pokemon Trainers, but wouldn't reach a lot of adults' shoulders. - As of For, Olimar also has a character alt in Alph (protagonist of Pikmin 3). - In Shulk's Guidance, Pit quotes a couple lines from Reyn, Shulk's friend from Colony 9's Defence Force. - Viridi's comment on the Mii Gunner is a nod to the Wii's prototype name "Revolution". - The DLC fighters didn't get Guidances of their own. Instead, they had an anonymous Guidance where Palutena has no data on the fighter, and Viridi identifies them as "an intruder from another dimension". - Ultimate has updated Guidances for Link, Sheik, Zelda, Ganondorf, Ike, and Robin - as well as Guidances for Dark Samus, Daisy, Ice Climbers, Pichu, Young Link, Mewtwo, Roy, Chrom, Snake, Pokemon Trainer, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Lucas, Wolf, Ryu, Ken, Cloud, Corrin, Bayonetta, Inkling, Ridley, Simon, Richter, King K. I personally think you guys would love the Xenoblade Chronciles series. The first game is where Shulk is from. It's where I would start if you guys would like to resct to that. I would then move into Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and then Xenoblade Chronciles 3. The Xenoblade franchise is one of Nintendo's fastest growing and most deeply lored series ever. It can give Warhammer and a bunch of other deeply lored series a very big run for their money. Also, there are Snake's Codecs from Smash Bros Brawl that are really funny as they are the predasessor to Pit's and Palutena's guidances. Also, in the newest Smash Bros Ultimate game; Pit's and Palutena's guidances have been updated for all the new fighters that have been added to the roster so that's also another thing worth checking out.

This one is Smash 4 (Super Smash Bros for Wii U) If you guys want a more update version of this, you should look up Smash Ultimate’s Collection of Palutena’s Guidance. It’s quite different, from the Wii U one so it’s not exactly the same.

Kid Icarus uprising, where these characters are from, is like this for the whole game. It's such an awesome and funny game.

Wii U is my favorite Super Smash Bros. game, oddly enough. It and the 3DS counterpart are super colorful and embrace a bit more whimsy compared to other Smash games. Paultena's Guidance is a fun feature. It's nice to see the Kid Icarus cast give their two cents on all the fighters. Mind you, I'm not much of a Kid Icarus fan, but Palutena is a rather funny, big-sister type figure to Pit. As a big, big Mario fan, I found their conversations amusing. I like the callback to the Year of Luigi and how Bowser can be a major villain in one game, only to play golf or Mario Kart the next. Pit himself fanboying over Mario was fun to see. My personal favorite conversation was with Robin. I don't play (let alone know anything about) Fire Emblem, but the cameo from Chrom was fun. I also liked how both Palutena and Viridi poked fun at Chrom's assist role in-game, but I digress. You two seem like a pleasant couple. It's nice to react to these kind of Smash Bros. videos.

Probably should have went with Super Smash Bros Ultimate version. That has all these ones and more new characters. Though it didn’t cover all the DLC ones, so a bunch of fans from “Zelda Universe” created their own Palutena’s Guidance for the DLC characters. As well as a parody called “Hades Misguidance” where characters from the Icarus games just either give more information and/or funny banter. Also, there’s something similar to this video in the previous game before this, called Super Smash Bros Brawl. In that one, Snake from the Metal Gear series in his own stage can call his allies for background info (called Snake’s Codecs) on his opponents. Pretty fun stuff to watch there.

this was such a fun video! the character redesigns, as far as i know, started with smash brothers brawl in 2008, when they redesigned pit and palutena to fit with the more realistic 3D style. in that game they didn't get to talk much outside of pit's action-based dialogue (when he attacks, for instance), but then those redesigns were used for a game in 2012 for the 3DS called kid icarus uprising! THAT'S the one where everyone gets a fun personality and quirky dialogue. it's a very beloved game inside its circle, even if it didn't end up being super well-known or popular. people have been begging nintendo for a sequel for years!

Shulk is from Xenoblade Chronicles 1. The RPG franchise is one of the best stories available to Nintendo consoles, with three 100+ hr games, and three several-dozen hr separate DLC campaigns. I have no idea what to recommend react-wise. you really gotta experience the game as intended. Maybe try and watch Xenoblade 1 cutscenes until the end of the first area. It's pretty cohesive w/o the gameplay for the adventure's beginning. Most of modern Kid Icarus is just *Uprising*, a 3DS game. Very ambitious for the handheld, very good. Most of the game has the divine cast commentating as Pit fights for his dang life. Definitely an action comedy.

Wasn't sure if this was covered in the comments or not, but in the event that you end up reacting to the Guidances for those characters that were introduced in Ultimate, don't be surprised if you hear Viridi with a different voice. From what I understand, they had to switch voice actors for her between the two games.

There is also Xenoblade Chronicles X and there is one character name Kosmos who is from Xenosaga series. (She is a special guest.) I recomend you two to play the games and don't watch anything if not want spoilers. ^^

22:30 No Squirtle here because it didn't make it in. The Wii U Smash Bros. was made alongside a 3DS version and being a handheld console meant that it couldn't handle too many characters on-screen at once if played by multiple players like Ice Climbers who is a duo character, or Pokemon Trainer who could swap between Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard and the swapping mechanic by itself caused problems. So all but the super popular Charizard were cut from both games until coming back in Ultimate because they wanted both versions to have the same roster.

So the thing about Link is that it's not so much a multiverse as it is a set of timelines. The Legend of Zelda, following Ocarina of Time, splits into 3 different timelines, the Child Timeline, the Adult Timeline and the Hero Timeline. The child timeline is basically Link going to the King of Hyrule and telling him the truth of Ganon's identity and deeds. The Adult timeline is where Link is an adult but instead of winning the final battle he loses and Ganon rules over Hyrule. While the Hero Timeline is similar to the Adult Timeline but Link actually wins the fight. Also yes there is a legit timeline where he loses. Anyway the Links in the games are not the same Link in fact every single one is a new Link. This is due to the events of Skyward Sword which takes place before OOT which explains why Link, Zelda and Ganon appear in almost all LOZ games.

Shiek is from the Zelda game series and it is Princess Zelda in disguise; she uses it to go out mingle with the townsfolk and fight Ganondorf and his forces instead of being the typical Princess shut away in her castle away from her people or simply being captured. In some games she'll do both, get "caught" as Zelda than break out and battle and fight as "Shiek"
