Adrenaline and Around the Fur were, and still are, the two most Deftones albums in their discography. They've definitely come back to that core sound in later albums, but nothing as cohesive of a sound as those two.

You can tell the guitar player is on Cloud 6 billion, as a fellow player myself, the energy he exhibits is pure endorphins and adrenaline from performing. It’s a feeling better than any drug on earth. Makes me so happy to see bands get gigs like this, it’s what you dream of every night as a musician.
@BuckScrotumn
@BuckScrotumn Жыл бұрын
I always tell people it’s better than sex, it’s better than drugs, it’s better than having sex on drugs. I remember one time while playing a really good show, as my head swung up (I was the drummer) everything seemed to move in slow motion. I could see the sweat flying off my head towards the ceiling, the sweat from our bass players head raining down on me as he stood on my bass drum, and in that moment I realized that I had never felt such an incredible connection with another human being as I did those 3 dudes on stage with me in my entire life. It really did feel like the 4 of us could take on the entire world.

@@mwiinga6052 they did in my opinion, as song writers. Self titled and SNW were not albums I would have expected from the band that did adrenaline. For me diamond eyes and koi no yokan were not the most experimental but showed how good they got a writing catchy fun songs. Gore was a really good last album it felt like a happy version of the self titled record. With ohms I’m still kind a meh on the record but overall they are great band to check out, they have a lot of great songs. As a fan gore would have been a good goodbye.

They were always more of a studio band. Not saying they can’t play but just the type of sound they have in general doesn’t translate well on stage.

I wonder if people who've never heard of Deftones in 2023 listen to it and do what we all did when we heard Chino's weird rainy day crying down the mic style and winsed.. Then 2days later wondered what that song was stuck in their head.. And then, they return
