Hi Mary! Thank you for these tips on drying, during this crazy time in our world, this is most important to have. I was wondering (which I didn't see in this video but maybe in others) how long will these herbs last and what is the best place to store them. Thank you so much, you are my go-to for learning about the science, if you will, on the process of living a healthy lifestyle. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your week.

Hi Mary, when you dry thyme herbs, what container do you put them in on glass jars or plastic containers? Also, I didn’t know if you put herbs in the refrigerator and forget that they get very dry in a week or two. Do you think they are still good to use them, and if they still taste good after a week or two being inside the refrigerator can I still used them, or they are spoiled. I taste the thyme, and they still has they same taste. I know that I am asking more than two questions.

When you dry bundles you can use a rubber band because as they dry the stems shrink and the bands shrinks and pieces don’t fall out of the bundle

Lorie Mahon - Hi Lorie, Thanks so much for visiting and thank you for the kind words. Glad you liked the video. I Didn’t make a video about storing them. That would’ve been a good idea! But usually what I do is crumble them up and keep them in jars in my pantry. You can also add an oxygen absorber if you want to keep out moisture if you live in a human climate. im growing mint and lemonbalm (found the lemonbalm in the wild and propagated them), and i was trying to dry out the leaves ontop of a cardboard box that was unfolded but then someone knocked over the box and all the leaves fell down to the ground! i was wanting to make some tea out of the leaves and then i decided that i should branch out a little more and started growing some lavender to add to my litle tea garden. would you recommend just hanging them up in the garage for a week to dry them out?

Well I’m happy for you. But herbs left in the my kitchen at the lake will go mouldy quickly due to the high humidity. And nothing grows all year round on the Canadian prairies. That’s why I have to harvest all I can inA very short time the things that do grow which is not lavender and most herbs need to be resewn every spring. Still it’s worth it. 😉
