I prefer rentals (white vans) they cant track shit in those. Let it idle. Fast and furious it, plug your belt it and throw the other part of it behind you. (So long as yer in a area that yer constantly stopping in)

Lmao! I lightweight prefer the white vans too because of the same reason! Lol! 😂

@martinmanaoat989 unless your totes are wacky out of order and way too much overflow so you can't walk thru them.. but I love the white vans on down season

Boy oh boy you're fortunate. My DSP doesn't meet up until 1110. We're the last DSP to leave between 1220 and 1245 depending on how fast they gather out routes and I don't get to my first stop until approx. 25 to 33 minutes afterwards. But it's all good though bc I'm getting more familiar with Alexandria already and my time is getting better each week.

Oh deng man, yeah I feel bad for those who start the later shift and having to be out later! I hated it during Nov-Dec cuz it got dark earlier lol! And yeah you’ll eventually build up speed the more you familiarize yourself with, your organization and area. Sucky thing is, as long as I’ve been at mine, they’ve switched areas like 4 times now and getting a new area sucks cuz it feels like starting over again lol

So I’m just curious, how does the whole fueling the van up work? Like do they make you pay for it yourself? Or do they give you some kind card or something?
@martinmanaoat989
@martinmanaoat989 2 ай бұрын
Hey there! You receive a card and you have a designated gas station or station(s) you can fuel up at! Hope that answered your question!

So.... technically... you have a workforce labor law suit here... They demanded you clock out for your 30 minutes break (which is supposed to be non interrupted) for a safety mechanical issue that happened with a work vehicle that they cleared for use on road. I would've reported that to your boss and the head amazon safety person at your warehouse. Had that failed while you were driving... oof... Showing them them vid as proof might hurt you a bit... but your dsp should have it on record for that van. That's not something that just happens. That van had issues they previously ignored. Could be easy as fuses, or short circuit somewhere.

Funny thing, my boss is the one who told me to take my break while I waited for back up and then told me also, that the vans do that. So since he was confident in that, I trusted it but still am a little stand offish to the fact that they really don’t do checks on the van to really make sure it’s all safe.

@martinmanaoat989 hang in there...dsp start good, but end up just money grabbing hungry... so long as you get your route done just ignore them. But if other sketchy things come up that you feel just doesn't feel right. Document it and save it on your personal phone. Be it emails, text screenshot, etc just to cover your arse so they can't come back at you for stupid stuff. There's a reason they don't want us to unionize. -.-

does every van have backup cameras that work ?
@martinmanaoat989
@martinmanaoat989 4 ай бұрын
At my DSP, sometimes you will and sometimes you won’t. Best thing to do if you’re not comfortable with it, is turn it in for another van. It is a safety issue so it’ll be no problem to trade. Thanks for the question!
@ashleynine4512
@ashleynine4512 3 ай бұрын
Cameras usually fail due to cross wiring for the netradyne camera. Pops fuses. Easy fix. You're lucky if your dsp actually has it looked at. Otherwise remember that you are c driving a big van with a shit ton of blind spots. If your backup or rear view isn't working, you better have your side mirrors adjusted and get out and look.

lol no worries bro! This was just an educational video to show what can go wrong! Nothing super serious but it was a hectic kind of day but nothing you wouldn’t be able to handle! At the end of the day, everything was A O K! Don’t stress! It can be a fun job and plus the best part, no manager breathing down your neck all day long! Lol! Get paid brotha and good luck!

I always wish for sweeper or "stand by' ... that way I can finagle my way to go home lol Is like 'naaahhh let them get thier hours...I want more sleep... though for my "friday" (which is Thursday) something stupid always... and I mean ALWAYS happens...esp cuz we 'short staffed'... another bs thing DSPs tells us... 'uhm no... you KNOW how much drivers, plus 2-3 extras you have the next day... you put in BIDS for route previous night!!.. come out here the next day during stand up meeting like "oh they have us more than we expected "...bullshet ' ...

That’s funny cuz I sometimes will pace myself knowing I’ll get a rescue cuz the thing I wonder is how they distribute the totes and routesThe other day I got 11 totes with 20 stops while some of my other co workers got like 18 totes with 150 stops. it’s not always like that but it’s like that. Also yeah all the BS my DSP comes up with like they hit us up sometimes with “stay home today or take tomorrow off cuz Amazon cancelled routes” It’s hard to believe that Amazon would run out of routes? Maybe I’m trippin idk. And with the videos, I don’t plan on showing anyone on my dispatch cuz I’m also not there to make besties with anyone right? It’s a job for me to go to and dip when I’m done. Granted I’ve made acquaintances andnnnnnd maybe they could grow into friendships but we mainly just chit chat before we get our vans. And those meetings we got, I feel are useless cuz we gather around for them to just tell us “no violations, drive safe” wtf? Could’ve said that when we got our vans lol. At the end of the day, this is not my career choice :) Thanks for all the comments ash! I love reading them!

@martinmanaoat989 my worst was 20 totes and 20 something overflow...in a rental.... I asked for a rescue... I never got one. So I told them "well I'll let the bosses know that you had me out here til 6 delivering, instead of helping me... if I get yelled at, I'll show them the texts I was sending you but you never came thru..." ugh I really do wonder what dispatchers and acting managers do while we out here busting or butts... obviously not actually actively getting vans fixed or cleaned like they say they are -.-

@martinmanaoat989 amazon distributes route size and amount of packages. Your dsp doesn't. However, your dsp has the option to cut the load off they deem necessary. Then those extra they cut from you (if they do) go to flex route drivers. But again...money hungry dsp owners... they try their hardest not to do that, even though they running us ragged.
