A step by step tutorial in which I show you how to make great looking Ladybugs. They are surprisingly easy to make and you can experiment with different colors to make Ladybugs that really stand out.
I show timelapses of making these 3D pen creations, while also narrating, so that I can highlight the important parts and give you tips.
I also demonstrate the simple techniques of using a mirror and styrofoam ball as tools to aid in the creation process.

This how to has a lot of great tips for beginners. Your voice was very soothing maybe you should try a meditation video next. I think you forgot one key ingredient, a staple of any PP video, the J-B Kwik

Great tip to use glass with lack spray so pla adhere. I would like to ask, have you tried using 3rd party filament on doodler create ? I assume it takes 3mm diameter filament but the hot end could be an issue as some brands have different melting temp.

Thanks- I only used the hair spray with ABS. When I made a test model using PLA, that worked fine on the mirror without the hairspray. So definitely use PLA if you try this out. I did try generic 3mm filament and it did not work. I heard from other sources that the PLA 3Doodler sells is not the same as generic 3D printer PLA, in that it is their own formulation made to melt at a lower temperature. Based on my limited tests, this info appears to check out.

@@PotentPrintables That sounds interesting, i will definitely give it a try. Oh I didn't expect that regarding the filament. Maybe it would work with an easy print pla filament, or in 3doodler pro since it has variable temp but its very expensive unfortunately.

The process of watching him use the mirror is so painful unless I'm not understanding something why not just use a sheet of glass over the stencil that way your not guessing where to place the plastic or trying to redraw the stencil on the mirror and your also not wasting wax paper just seems like a more practical solution that's also more sustainable. Unless there's some unseen benefit of the mirror ? Im and industrial design student Thinking of making a design/ maker channel that includes tutorials on programs, 3d printers, 3d pens, and any tool and techniques that allow oneself to quickly create things anyone feel free to fallow me and perhaps I'll post a link at some point once the channels up and running

Will the doodler pen explode or become conveniently useless, without using their proprietary marketing filament bs ?

I tried using generic (non 3Doodler 3mm filament) and it did not work well. I also heard from a different source that 3Doodler uses a different/custom blend of PLA, so the nozzle temperature is different, making normal PLA not work well.

@@PotentPrintables Thanks for your answer. That's what I thought, it's one of those greedy proprietary systems, Apple style.. Just bought another pen, but a serious one without restrictions 😁
