Hey guys! So, I removed my hair extensions and I decided to try a weaveless 2022(go a year without hair extensions), Lord willing! This is the truth about why I stopped wearing weave. So I’ll be explaining why I’m giving up on weave, my journey of 10 years of hair extensions, and my 2022 hair growth plan! I know this is probably dramatic but to me it’s not, I’ve been wearing extensions for over a decade because I was lazy, and didn’t know how to take care of my natural hair, I’m excited to start this natural hair journey or should I say straight natural hair journey until it’s long enough to wear a wash and go :)! It's not a coincidence that when I started feeling iffy about extensions, all these "why i stopped wearing weave" videos popped up and to be honest, I don't NEED it like I thought I did and it's about time I stop being lazy:)
Hey to all the newbies :) I see you and appreciate It🤗

I’ve been having a major hair dilemma for the past 2 years and lately I’ve felt like I need to let the weaves go. But it’s so hard 😩I appreciate you sharing this! Your natural hair is beautiful!

You’re not the only one. Others have told me they’ve been feeling the tug to let it go too. Thank you, what’s helped me is looking up videos on ways to style short curly hair or stretched hairstyles for naturals. I feel you but we’ve got this 💪

Girl!!! You did that though, your hair has always looked SO good and natural. I had no idea that you ever used any kind of clip ins or extensions until you mentioned leave out a video or two ago. Your natural hair is SO beautiful! Sometimes all you need is a good hair cut to shape it in a complimentary way to make you fall in love with it! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend going to a cut it kinky stylist who can cut and shape your hair in its natural state so you don’t have to spend so much time styling it. HOWEVER if you plan to straighten your hair I wouldn’t go that route simply because #1 too much heat can cause heat damage so your hair won’t curl and #2 keep in mind that if you get your hair cut in it’s natural state, when you do go to straighten it, it won’t be the same length
@Offthebeatenpath.

I agree with a cut and shaping of the fro, I can’t wait to do that once it gets a bit longer, Lord willing! I’ll be staying up to date on your vids for hair inspo😍

You hair is GORGEOUS. I do relate not having VOLUME. Roller sets and sleeping in rollers work instead of wrapping it, even when stretched.

I used rollers for the little bump here 😂 but have never tried it with stretched hair, I’m sure it’ll be way more voluminous without flat ironing so I will try that, thank you!

I was natural for 6 months in 2020 and I just didn't have the patience for it anymore. It soo much work, my husband is obsessed with my natural hair but I told him braiding and putting rods at the end just takes too much time lol I literally have a whole box full of natural hair products. I want to try knotless braids one day. my husband loves braids

I have always been afraid of weave. I heard they were bad for athletes because sweat would get trapped under the tracks and itch and you can't itch. I just now got a consultation for a sew in....but now I am rethinking it.
@Offthebeatenpath.
@Offthebeatenpath. 2 жыл бұрын
I would go and see what she says, a consultation is the best because you can ask all the questions. I agree with the full Sewins, even partial you can itch that good unless you have a rat tooth comb. But I love the individual row sewins. It’s like Microlinks but more secure

i am literally the opposite as you...kinda. i spent all of 2022 learning how to manage my straight/stretched natural hair. I focused on silk presses, roller sets, and blow outs, I also learned how to master mini twists bc I consider that a straight style as well (installed on blow dried hair and then I mist the ends with liquid at the end so they curl). My hair got sooo healthy with one issue...braids, I did braids a few times last year and i learned that anything smaller than medium/large knotless take my hair out. So for 2023 I would like to install a sew in twice and add that to my "low maintenance straight hair care" for 2023. I plan on getting a kinky straight sew in with the perimeter out, I plan to rollerset the perimeter and leave out to keep the heat low.
@Offthebeatenpath.

Sewins helped my hair a ton so I’m sure you’ll see great results from it! I’ve been doing a lot of stretched styles and silk presses!
