I own this laptop, I bought it about a year and a half ago. It's pretty nice for how cheap it is, although my battery is starting to weaken, hopefully it's not going to fall too quickly! Also feel like the laptop isn't put together all too well (again, I know it is cheaper than most), but the frame around the screen is starting to loosen in the bottom left corner. However, for browsing the web, typing papers on Word/Google Docs, and watching movies on Netflix/Hulu, this computer is solid and does the job quite well.

I have a dell inspiron 15 5588 with touchscreen, 6 gig memory, 500 gig hd, and quad core i3 1.9hz and it is one powerful little machine! Worth $500.00, I got this brand new two years ago for $325.00 from walmart. A must have.

I have this laptop but I’m trying to figure out if it would work for the oculus rift, the problem I’m having is that the hdmi cord for the oculus headset doesn’t work with my hdmi computer port because the port doesn’t plug into my graphics card so could I still plug in the headset and run it

I have a dell inspiron 15, 5000 series with the 2 in 1 touch device and 15.6" HD display. I enjoy using the laptop, as it runs smoothly, and is easy to use, however I have had an issue with the mic any time I record a video. The main issue I have with my laptop is that when I use the built-in mic and webcam my audio cuts in and out. I will be talking in a normal tone and volume when i record the video. However when I play it back, the audio will go from high to barely a whisper or sounding muffled.. it sounds like the mic is covered almost. Also the fan in the background causes a loud humming sound that is often present. Have you had these issues as well? I really dont know how to solve this :(

I have the same but backlit keyboard and touchscreen with 10 point pen access are two other features which I think you probably forgot to mention.

Well i just got this laptop a few days ago and i havent done much with it other than youtube and games. I think its good enough for uni. Cant really say anything yet but what i can say is that it does not game well. The FPS in Fortnight on low-medium settings is 50fps, but it occasionally drops to 10fps (often in a fight). Playable but not enjoyable. The best thing you can do is play League Of Legends. Oh i have Radeon (TM) 530 and Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 installed

@@Anticlimacticwhale 1 year later it's not a gaming laptop that's super obvious. Do more research before gaming. From a gaming laptop user. PS I play Fortnite at 180 fps on epic settings for the price of $720.

Purchased two Dell laptops over the past year, one being a 15 5000, and both have bad hard drives already and won't boot. I'm spending my day off to spread the word out of concern and respect so you don't go through the same extreme frustrations I have, please don't purchase a Dell!

It would depend what Editing software you were using, I'd say it would struggle with Adobe Premiere Pro, you could do it but the timeline would be laggy and it would take ages to export. I really only use this for photo editing and browsing. You could always get a higher spec model that has dedicated graphics.

it actually runs pretty well if you reset the computer and choose the "fresh start" option when you get it. the reset gets rid of all the bloatware and makes it run like a dream

I've been using photoshop on it since I got it with no problems, not the quickest for exporting etc. But runs fine.

It can but Dell won't let you allocate enough ram on the graphics card. I got mine with a vega 8 graphics card but it won't let me use above 215mbps of ram
