In this video, we take a deep dive into the Delonghi Eletta Explore. Why a deep dive? At nearly $2,000, this is a big investment. So, I show hot espresso drinks, hot milk based drinks, cold brew, cold cappuccino, travel mug Americano, hot cocao, and more. We even weigh out the dry weight doses to see just how large the pucks are. Finally, we takes some temperature measurements to see how hot, and how cold this machine produces drinks. See the links below for more information,

I bought the new philips Lattego 5500 about 3 weeks ago. Had different drinks daily as a family. I recognized that the milk foam is really terrible. The espresso quality was pretty good, but if you prefer to drink milk-based drinks, then I wouldn’t recommend philips at all. At least with the current Lattego technology. Today I gave back the Philips machine and bought the Delonghi Eletta Explore and beside the Material differences, I could definitely feel the higher quality of the machine. The foam is much finer and the fact that you can adjust the „foaminess“ of your milk ist great. Thank you for your time and the great video!

Exquisite, exactly what I was waiting for. A very thorough demo on functions and UI of this great unit. I had no idea I would be this interested in watching a video about super automatics. You gotta know its a delonghi super auto, when you hear them start. I have a magnifica S at my office and it sounds exactly same way. It's always weird to me how you say, that your beans are 3-4 weeks old, in my area all local roasters roast on daily basis (I guess pour over/filter is more popular and customers always ask for their beans to be ground) so I have to wait a week before indulging in a cup of specialty coffee. Cheers!

We have a Magnifica ESAM 4200 that's in its 15th year - regularly serviced, parts replaced as needed and it works pretty much as new. We also have (an even older) GCP and MDF grinder: I prefer the espresso from this combo but the Delonghi makes about 90% of the coffee in our house because it's so easy. They are great machines and it's interesting to see what a modern one can do. Thank you for your videos, always interesting.

Excellent review! Still, it makes me appreciate my simple Melita filter machine even more. Less time spent cleaning, and quicker set-up :) To me, a real "superautomatic" machine should somehow take care of everything, and not require multiple steps of cleaning, or replacing the milk container for just hot water.

I did a ton of tests, and found the 2x Espresso and Doppio+ to grind the longest (around 10 seconds). As for espresso, it was like this: Espresso Aroma 1: 5 seconds Espresso Aroma 2: 6 seconds Espresso Aroma 3: 7 seconds Espresso Aroma 4: 8 seconds Espresso Aroma 5: 9 seconds So, it ranged between 8 and 14 grams or so (about 1.5 grams per second of grinding time), based on those trials. Thank you for the review!! My intention was to purchase a Sage (Breville) Barista Pro coffee machine. I know they're from different categories, but after seeing the review for this machine, I'm at a crossroads. Is there a significant difference in the quality of the coffee shot between these two machines that justifies the effort of making coffee manually? What is your recommendation for me? Thanks in advance!!
@TomsCoffeeCorner
@TomsCoffeeCorner 2 ай бұрын
Well, I am not going to go out on a limb and say this is as good as, or better than a semi-automatic portafilter machine. But if you choose the maximum dosage (intensity), and watch your ratios, I think it's going to get most users pretty close, depending on how developed your palate is. And I think that is why these are so popular. A lot of people would prefer the convenience of a superauto, over a semi-auto. I did a video on it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rbJjl7N5l67Whas.html

Hi Tom! greetings from Spain!. We love coffee at home, and of course your job with it!. We learn a lot with you, please continue doing what you do. I have a simple question with this machine. ¿The brew group of this machine is the same in the delonghi rivelia? The reason for this question is because we are considering buying the rivelia. We are looking for a super automatic machine able to make great expresso (10 expressos per day at home) and that particular machine sims to have the same brew group like the dinamica plus or eletta. On the other hand we aren't interested at all in the milk steamer (we don't use it). Now, in Spain we can buy the rivelia without the automatic steamer at 579€ and we think it is a good choice. Is my machine not functioning well or was my expectation too high ( I thought the coffee will come out as cold)- hot milky drinks (latte etc..) and espresso is pretty decent .. taste good
@TomsCoffeeCorner
@TomsCoffeeCorner 6 күн бұрын
Well, the iced drinks require ice to cool them down more. I think the only drink that comes out cool is the cold brew, which is at about 40 degrees C. The other drinks require the ice to cool them down further. The milky drinks should be about ambient temperature milk foam, if you use the white milk carafe. Cheers!
