Here are two classic guitar amps found on countless records, stages, and studios since their inception. They are perfect for nearly any style of music (with the right pedals) and have the perfect blend of features. They're lightweight, dependable, versatile, and sound amazing!

Never heard that before. I’m just getting into the Vibrolux bought two of them one for mods. I think the two tens are the way to go for club level gigs. Time will tell.

Thanks, Mike. Very informative and I like it because it confirms my bias RE: Deluxe Reverbs being all-round great but wanted to hear a head to head with a Vibrolux. I will watch and look forward to more of your videos thanks to your humor and nice playing. You almost lost me with the drive to the studio because I came for information. I love a good story as much as the next guy but it was my first click so I wanted to hear those sweet amps ASAP. But I also love drive-thru Starbucks and Mark Agnesi videos so hopefully we’re friends for life. Cheers

Dug your playing style: very organic, down to earth; unlike others that are so technique perfect and sterile of feeling. You got a good sense of humor with some self-depracating bits, which is cool. Your comparison does a good job of highlighting the qualities of both amps. I,too, have a blackface DR and a blackface VR. Like you, I prefer my DR for the same reasons you stated at the end of your vid PLUS the reverb and vibrato sound is much more lush and dreamy. Play the blues, brother!!!

Sounds like just the camera mic on the vibrolux.... but than later in video the room mic is on both? check it before you upload maybe?

Hey man! Great demo and great sounds! I'm torn between these to amps. I play a les paul. A couple of people gig vibroluxes with volume on 4. Also they rely heavily on pedals. I'm a guitar straight to amp kinda guy, working the knobs on the guitar and really dig the deluxe but haven't had a chance to try one. So, I was wondering how do they compare volume-wise? How much do you have to crank the deluxe to match vibrolux on 4?

Why such low volume? Tube amps are made to play cranked and always sound their best cranked up most of the way.

Great playing....As far as the amps they have their different voicing due to 6v6 and 6L6 tubes, also 12 inch speaker vrs 10 speakers. Great comparison....thanks

The Deluxe reverb sounds so much better with the stock Jensen! My person experience is the Et65 dumped too much of that top end that fenders are known and loved for.

Vibrolux has more of a mid range presence. DR is more typically, Fender mid-scooped.

Next time you a/b these amps delve into some chord structures and progressions as well instead of one liner broken up edited bluesy riffs that every single goddamn demo seems to be on KZfaq lol. Cant really hear the voicing of the amps at all. Chords would give a much more accurate a/b of the two amps across the spectrum. Shout out to being in Boston as well! Cheers to being fellow guitar neighbors lol.

I have a blonde custom vibrolux with stock Jensen's and it sounds a million times better than the one on this vid I think it sounds muddy and non descript the deluxe is far better

Why do you only have treble on 6 and bass on 3? I was told by real experienced long time players that turning up tone knobs does not add tone, when you have them turned down, it takes away the possible tones of the amp. Meaning they say put the tone knobs up fairly high, and balance it out at high levels, to get the most potential best tones form the amp. What do you think about this? This is what some long time players said to do. Wouldnt you want to have the most possible tones, higher levels, balanced out of course? Vibrolux sounded a little better, I would like to hear both cranked up a lot more to get the most accurate sounds.

Arguably most magical fender tones ever comes from Jerry Garcia’s twin reverbs (modified later on). He always ran his bass knob on zero. As in, completely off. Treble 9 or more and used guitars tone and middle 6 or 7 to taste, for bass. All depends. Speaker, room, guitar, player, style, etc

I own a 1966 VR and it sounds nothing like this demo. It sounds as if the mic on the VR isn’t even on, and the sound is being picked up by the mic on the DR. (Listen to the amount of from ambience .) The DR sounds great and correct ( I foolishly sold my 1965).

Even though these amps are similar in that the VR is a step up in size, cost, power, they are very different. You have 22 watts, a single 12 vs 35 and 2 10's, 6V6 vs 6L6, different circuits, etc. Also a VR is NOT lightweight, mine is 54 lbs! Anyway, the VR has muddy sounding speakers so sounds terrible compared to the Deluxe. You'd have to have the same make speakers in each and the same tubes to compare as close as possible.

I suspect it has something to do with the recording equipment. The amps sound s little thin which is interesting as I know they aren't in real life. I like both of these models of amps.

I have both of these amps and they're both great amps and sound nothing like this. Don't know how you managed to make both of them sound so bad. The worst I've ever heard two of the best amps fender released. There's other videos of these amps that shows how they really sound. Yours is by far the worst.
