I'm a veteran rider, the back of my vest says Marines with a giant EGA. Never had an issue, I have spoken to a few MCs I see or meet on the road... #1 rule I use is respect. And that goes a long way. I have even been offer to "stop by" and I always thank them for the invite, but politely decline. Never an issue, and always hey open invite... alot of people don't realize that some MC were started after WW2 by veterans to maintain that brotherhood and to let off some steam. To me, the open road, and the wind in your face is what freedom truly is. Good information

After WWII is exactly where it started but most sprung up after Vietnam I believe because of the way they were treated when returning home a lot of those Soldiers and Marines felt alienated so that was the only family they knew and I think that’s where the outlaw part comes into play too with the drugs and stuff that mentality was passed down from those guys not really giving a shit what anyone else thought.

I'm an Independent Rider and the same thing happened to me with some guys of SYL 81 (btw i m from Portugal) ... I was using a small patch that could easily be mistaken for a HAMC patch. I removed the patch immediately saying I had no idea. the guys invited me to go to a kind of club house and explained everything to me and everything turned out well. your video is excellent and people really need to know and pay attention to how they do things. Great Respect from Portugal.

I agree with you never underestimate anyone but it's not about that individual it's about club to club. The one percent club is usually a lot bigger than your 99% clubs and even if both clubs had the exact same amount of members right down to the prospects it still comes to whether or not it could start a war between the two clubs and let's face it that wouldn't end well for the 99% club. That's why it's best to have the blessing of the dominant club in the area so things like that are less likely to happen.

@Ernie McCrackin that's how family works, our state club was formed for military guys to stay in touch and hang out. The same as your service uniform you put your cut on with an oath to your brothers. That's family, love, and respect... if it seems gay to you it says a lot about you.

@Daphne Lynne does stupid hurt? MC club Banditos was started by a former Marine to maintain brotherhood after deployment. The patch if any is because who you ride with are family, just like those who you deploy with.if they don't mean as much to you then you're a fraud and don't deserve a cut or any rockers.

Thanks for educating people on the 1% culture. People can make innocent mistakes due to ignorance. I made a mistake like this when I started riding 20 years ago. The Hell's Angels President, of the chapter in the area I was in, questioned me about the vest with patches I was wearing. I designed my vest from what I saw in biker culture, not knowing the protocols and 1% culture. I explained that, he realized I had no clue, but I was respectful of him, so he was respectful of me. I apologized for not knowing the deal, and I told him I wouldn't wear the vest. I later met up with him, showed him proof I had taken the patches off the vest and we were good. I wish I had known the deal then, a video like this can help people learn the culture before making a mistake like the one I made.

A small local MC I rode and hung out with and was offered to Prospect for got shut down by a dominant club when they put on a 1%er patch. They rolled up to their clubhouse in force and doused the patched members with lighter fluid and gave them a choice: Give them up or have them burned off. They gave them up. The dominant doing the talking said they were cool with their club until they put that 1%er ♦️ on. Glad I didn’t Prospect or I could have been involved in that situation. Thanks for speaking truth and educating people. #Ghostin

@@InsaneShiyn They didn’t do their homework or realize how serious true 1%ers took the diamond patch. These dudes were just trying to look cool and got handled. I was there the night their President handed out the ♦️ and I was thinking to myself that these guys aren’t a legit 1% club and were definitely posing and knew I wasn’t going their club now. It wasn’t too long after they sewed those patches on that their cuts got taken away and club disbanded. The President was so shook up he quit riding and sold his bike. Hahahahaha it looks familiar because apparently I commented on this video previously and didn’t recall doing so 😄 That’s what concussions do I suppose. Protect that grape 😄

@@InsaneShiyn some of these clubs get the big head. we had one here that did a similar thing and was ask to take it off, they didn't and when checked, they 100% dropped their cuts. @AaronCo29
@AaronCo29 2 жыл бұрын
@@MarkedInBlack Very true, it fell on that Pres and it was ultimately his decision to start it, but it was the rest of the club to take it and put it on. I have seen a few clubs over the last few decades try and do this, they all get shut down, or patched over and I am 100% sure, these clubs know enough to ask questions, more than likely, the Pres never ask for permission, but said it was ok'd by someone, and I have seen guys get a Harley and start riding to the local "Biker Bar" and start hanging out and it goes to their heads, those guys are the ones that sell their bikes and quit riding, and it doesn't matter if they had their own club, or rode with a support club and get OIB. They realize the bike put them in that position and it could have cost them a lot of pain, or their life, so after doing some soul searching, they sell the bike.

When I was riding with Southern Cruisers Riding Club (not an mc), we were given the ok from the confederation of clubs, as long as we followed specific rules. No rockers, at all. Rc, not mc. Never refer to any patches as a cut, or colors. For the years I rode with them, we followed the rules, gave respect, and didn't have any issues. We also avoided confrontation, cause we were just riding, not lifestyle.

I used to wear a patch. We went through all the stuff with coalition and dominant club etc. Ended up disbanding because there simply wasnt enough of us left healthy enough to do it anymore. Some good folks up north adopted our charter and patch, been growing nicely ever since which makes me very happy. Never had any problems. I ride clean now because I ride all over the country, sometimes to other countries. To each their own, I have no desire to deal with the potential drama or the patience.

One of the biggest things I've learned, being in the MC life is that if it ain't in your heart, it shouldn't be on your back. If it's on your back, and it's in your heart, then you'll die before you let it get disrespected, let alone taken. Getting the patch is hard. Keeping it is harder. Easiest way to tell a motorcyclist from a biker: The motorcyclist will be willing to live for his patch and his club. The biker will be willing to die for them.

You didnt mention right to travel but thats not always a giving, my brothers would rather me give up my cut than die because we have a true brotherhood and they would miss me and yes the cut is VERY important but the man makes the patch not the patch making the man and they could take every stitch of fabric from me but death or not they can never take the brotherhood or soul from me. I am a CVMA (Combat Vets Motorcycle Association) member we have a 1 piece back patch, sometimes some bars on the bottom. Like “Vets Helping Vets” or deployments like “Iraq” “Afghanistan “ etc name tapes and chapter patches etc on the front. We personally locally have never had any problems with local MC’s, and I’ve not heard of any problems elsewhere. I like to think we don’t have problems because CVMA has been around for quite awhile nationally and we stay in our lane so to speak lol It goes without saying if you ride, whether you have 1piece patch, no patch, whatever the case may be, when it comes to being face to face with an MC, respect goes a long way, those guys are in a totally different ball game. You don’t want your ego overriding your mouth lol chances are if you show respect, you will get a level of respect in return. And if you have a 3 piece patch and you’re not in an MC.... just do yourself a favor and burn it lol

Good information, bro. I almost got into it with a 1% in a small town night club and it was over a girl🤦🏽‍♂️(she was being messy to begin with). I had no idea about the bike culture , I ride alone (wasn’t on my bike)and plus we out numbered them in the night club, so we were ready to mop the floor with them. And I’m glad a mutual friend defused the situation, caused learning from you , it probably would’ve never died out.

Nothing wrong with wearing a cut with patches as long as they know the rules on the rockers. I see a lot of people trying to dress to impress and I just let them be. I laugh a little at them trying to dress a part for the weekend warrior or spring and summer badass- but heck it’s not a problem til they start posing with 3 piece patches, a cube, and wearing a territory patch

Couple of 1% approched and asked if we had ridden our bikes to the pub which we hadnt, anyway 1% wanted my vest. I stood up to him respectfully and told him I would remove the vest and go and put it in the car, the guy I was with knew a few full members of the 1% and it was agreed that the vest got put in the car. Good outcome considering.

Great video. One thing that I'd also add for the internet tough guys is that you got to think about your brothers too if you're in a 99% club. The dominant could easily turn their attention to the club as a whole (not just you) and that's putting your brothers and possibly their families (if their wives/girlfriends ride with them) at risk too. If you want to be a tough guy, put in the time, blood, sweat and tears to join a diamond club. Then you'll understand what it means and you'll also be riding with brothers that are ready to fight/die to protect that cut.

I’ve been asked to take my cut off, depending on the area I am in. Sometimes I just forget because I’d be out riding all day hitting up a few bars. I just apologies and go about my business. Doesn’t happen often, but when it has happened, no one has threatened to take it. I’ve been told to reach out and call before riding through different areas of Texas. The only people I know getting cuts taken, are a bunch of mouth pieces looking for trouble. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Worked at a Harley dealer when I was younger. Members of a dominate club worked there with me. More members of that dominate club were always on the property. There was one mechanic working in the back that road with a different club. Not an enemy club but a club different then the dominate club. One of his homies rolled up at lunch time rocking his cut and some of the dominates there hanging out slapped him up and took it from him. We hot-wired his bike for him cause his only key was in the pocket of the cut.. Story don’t end there.. President of the dominate club beat the ever living piss out of the dudes that took the cut and made a scene at his place of employment. Still remember seeing the one dude the next day and he had a bruise from the bottom of his chin to the top of his head. Dude straight got knocked the fuck out.. Very cool guys to work with. They offered me a probate spot a couple times but I was like “nah, I’m just looking to ride my bike and get laid, not trying to be a killa.” They would always say “when your minds right, come see me.” Never took that plunge..
