When my father in law died I had such an awakening about death being real and I started to declutter my home and get rid of so many things. I stopped shopping frivolously and I started curating my life. I also made a bucket list of all the things I wanted to do before I die. That was 7 years ago. I have been able to travel more and gotten out of debt, realized that my relationship with my children meant most to me. I am now 51 and I have this gum disease. I am going to do my best to take care of my health and continue fulfilling my bucket list. Thank you for all you shared it today and just know that I will never forget you.

So, Dr. Al died of cancer at 76. That's no different that most men who "do all the wrong things in life like drink and smoke and eat junk food". One might say, just live. Have a positive mindset and stop worrying about everything all the time. The news is "over-news". Stop listening to so much information online and on the TV and just get happy. Read more. Change your mindset. Cut-out negative people. Don't be negative nor a worrywart. You never know when your time is up. I've met many "health nuts" in life who are unhealthy because they worry about everything and don't think. By the way, I am very fit and kick ass with about 3 workouts a week. I eat decently but don't deprive myself and like beer in moderation. Good luck!

Around 33:00 Dr. Danenberg mentions xylitol being destructive to the biofilm's attachment to tissue. In other videos Burhenne advocates for the use of xylitol for precisely the reason that it prevents adhesion of bad bacteria. How can one determine if xylitol will be helpful or harmful?

I listened to this interview last night and bless Dr Al, may his soul rest in peace. I was saddened when I saw his passing announcement on his website. At 31:59, he mentioned that we destroy our healthy biofilm by chewing xylitol so that the biofilm doesn't regrow. Firstly, I am very confused by this because from all the videos that I've watched on xylitol, it is always the same message - xylitol affects strep mutans and leave the other bacterias (bad and good alone). Why then would xylitol harm or prevent the biofilm from regrowing if it only affects strep mutans? Strep mutans alone doesn't make up the entire biofilm. Secondly, you even published a video recently about chewing xylitol gum and its benefits - why didn't you say anything when Dr Al mentioned xylitol in a negative way? I understand you are busy but I sincerely hope you can reply to shed light on this because I think more and more people are chewing xylitol from seeing all these videos from YT influencers like your good self, Dr Ellie Phillips, Teeth Talk Girl, etc etc...if it's detrimental, then please address this so that people don't harm their biofilm? Thank you.

For, a pioneer has been lost. and yes, let's try to clear up the xylitol issue because I recently bought xylitol and also have been showing it for beneficial teeth and gum health. Thanks community! 🙏 🥰

There is a video from three months ago that the host speaks on the research shown with regards to chewing Xylitol gum; and the results that expectants mothers pass on to their child. So what I gleam was this and it’s that xylitol plays a huge part in creating a healthy mouth.
@lebooshdiaries

@@oiputthatback7361 i watched that video. But what i am interested in is why a very experienced doctor like Dr Al would say otherwise. It never hurts to hear the why. Most creators who push for xylitol are usually selling xylitol as an affilitate or have a xylitol business. In that sense, sometimes it's hard to take everything they say 100%.

I’m at my wits end about my teeth. I have been told by my dentist that my teeth are not going to last more than a year or two because I have periodontal disease. So he wants me to have a deep clean not by a hygienist that’s not good enough but by a periodontist. I have receding gums and bone lost. He said I have gingivitis but my gums don’t bleed I have no loose teeth, not only that it will cost £2.100 worrying me sick.

Great conversation, but I have something to note that is in general the case. Nobody is talking about this profit driven capitalist system in which a half of the Americans cannot afford the treatment like LANAP and even if they could somehow pay for it it would increase their stress levels and mess with their so needed sleep cause it would add to their debt and push them deeper into the depression. This is the main reason, plus the horrible diets (also caused by the same system) why we have so much of this and other chronic diseases.

He doesn’t mean the tartar that’s so huge and hard. He means a slight film that’s minimal. Meaning to focus on your variety of bacteria by colonizing yourself with variety so that the variety of colonies can colonize your mouth and biofilm so they keep the bad bacteria at a lower level. We need the bad bacteria in balance. DONT scrub your gum line to death .

@26:06 this dentist does not recommend anti-microbial mouthwashes, like what? Those with alcohol or chlorhexidine such as brands Savacol and Curasept? Or even brands like Sensodyne, Colgate and Listerine are not ok? He is concerned about destroying the good bacteria. But even when the bad bacteria are removed, they can easily come back right? I mean our mouth is exposed to food and air every day. If bad bacteria can easily build up even after a good clean, why not the good bacteria?? He recommends Hydrogen Peroxide, doesn't that kill both good and bad bacteria too? I do not get it.

All those other ones contain alcohol, fluoride and chemicals. Where as Oxygen Peroxide sends oxygen into the blood stream while helping healing and killing bacteria. You’d only use it while you have the mouth problem, after that you can use Herbal mouthwashes.

I asked a very young dentist about getting a retainer to stabilize 2 front teeth that have decided to move because of a tooth that was pulled when I was a teenager. The dentist started into a rant about bone grafting and bacteria infecting my whole body and back wiring and a whole 15 minutes to justify 2 years of work for $5,000. So, when I was at the Dollar Store that afternoon, I bought a $1.25 a soft plastic overnight teeth grinding guard which is working very nicely, thank you. I am also increasing my use of castor oil, Neem toothpaste, and garlic. Those 2 loose teeth had been firm and stable until I had Covid-19 Delta last November. My theory is that Delta came in through my nose and weakened my upper jaw defence systems. Then I keep bumping those 2 loose teeth with hard foods like nuts while the 2 loose teeth keep trying to re-grip properly and heal. The soft plastic of the teeth grinding guard is supporting the 2 teeth nicely. The gums feel much better, and the 2 teeth are not wobbling now. I would still prefer a retainer. Since athletes wear mouth guards, I will go to a sporting goods store soon to see what they sell that might be helpful because I would like to give those 2 teeth back support in addition to front support. I got an A in microbiology at UCLA, not an A-, a flat out A, and I resent the dentist having tried to frightening me with bacteria getting all inside my body. I already know the human body is constantly host to microbes. The human body is so constructed that it will heal itself, if possible. What I had specifically asked the dentist was for a retainer to determine WHETHER my gums can close tightly around those 2 teeth again or not. It was not even at a dental appointment. The dentist was at a public fair booth to drum up business. The dentist did NOT win me over. I have only ever lost 2 permanent teeth because my pain threshold is do high I don't notice a tooth ache until it is too late. If I want serious dental work done, I will go back to the dental clinic where I had an implant done about 10 years ago. I already knew that if these 2 teeth are unable to stabilize I will have to get 2 additional implants. Over the years I had discussed the tooth extracted when I was a teen, and dentists had said I ought to have 1/4th of my teeth fixed down and veneers glued onto that side. Gross. Mask wearing reduced the sunshine and fresh air the mouth normally gets. Nobody ever told us during the long pandemic that we should take care to give the mouth fresh air and sunshine outside. I would really like a dentist who would meet me half way to see what natural healing my mouth can do. I'll give it a couple of weeks.

Mask wearing also causes hypoxia which leads to acidosis of the blood which in turn causes the good bacteria to die off and the bad bacteria to flourish..,the big c is a severe fungal infection that’s settled into the ravioli of the lungs..( I call them ravioli cuz my phone has autocorrected it to that so much it’s habit now lol) the ravioli are where O2 & CO2 are transferred into and out of the body..the fungal ball gets too large blocking this process which is why patients experienced low oxygen but were still able to appear to breath normally…a patient ignorant of this even being possible and what causes it…wouldn’t have any clue why they’re not able to breath without constriction of the bronchial …the protocol the hospitals followed for the big c treatment is the absolute opposite of what should be followed…their protocol actually caused it to get worse and is what caused the death…I found all of this info on the NIH website while researching the medicine that is effective in curing the big c which was also what the NIH recommended but quickly changed once the info was shared …that medicine that we aren’t allowed to mention is an anti parasitic drug..if it is curing this novel whatever within hours of taking it..,why are we still calling it a virus? Which is nothing more then a renamed bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infection they’ve known about…novel is a joke…it’s also made me realize what the truth of it all is and that we are not in a country that has our best interest in mind..,

And most dentists are not even aware that they are really terrorizing their patients with unnecessary, invasive, dangerous procedures and putting them into impossible debt with these treatments, and lack of REAL preventative care. This is why we MUST be proactive about ALL aspects of our health and keep doing what we are doing now, which is searching out the information for ourselves. Never put any aspect of your dental or medical health completely in the hands of "medical professionals" no matter how ethical they seem to be.

I had a small abscess on my lower gum below tooth 31 for about 14 years which I forgot about until recently the 31 tooth became loose so I visited the dentist. The dentist says I have periapical periodontitis & there is a small round black area around the tooth on xray where the bone has been destroyed. The dentist just has done a root canal cleaning & administering NaOCI 3% and requests that I have multiple follow up visits to repeat the procedure. Do I need to extract the tooth to prevent the spread of the bacterial infection or can my tooth be saved?

I had a dentist once measure my gum pockets. When they did the one on a root canaled tooth, they used a piece of gutta percha...Later that day the top of my head was freezing. I couldn't think straight. My daughter said I seemed slower and got a "blank" look on my face for several years. I do believe it's associated with the gums. I got this reaction from this and it lasted. I'm still not all the way right. It left a scar so to speak.

Subscribed! I'm 38. I have all my teeth. I didn't have any fillings until I was 30. I have had some discoloration in the back teeth along the the gum line and it looks like some gum receding. I don't know if the gums receding is what is causing the discoloration or visa versa? But I went to many a dentist who commented on wanting to fill a particular tooth and I don't see how a hole will help. Since I'm in my 20s dentists insist it must be filled. I am trying to do everything I can to prevent any more holes in my teeth besides the few they did when I was 30. I need to add that when were kids our parents were very lack luster so the pestering about brushing never occurred in our home. We were lucky to have toothpaste and a dentist appointment was a rare occasion. One good thing that came out of that is I was probably the only student who came out of highschool without a filling in sight. Thanks so much for this video!

This needs to be studied . There might be a “zone” of biofilm /plaque which doesn’t get hard, that’s protective. We could feel blessed to have these platforms that propose these perspectives so that we can do our own experimenting on ourselves. This plants the seed in our brains that creates a curiosity to obtain more certainty. Debating with our own self experimenting with photos will elevate us the consumer to higher analysis and thinking ability for having higher expectations from those specialists treating us for health issues . It’s going to get better because of these various observations.

I'm totally broke and can't go until I get a job with insurance (yes, I know this is bad but I truly cannot afford it). Is flossing, rinsing with hydrogen peroxide and coconut oil safe for now?

I live in rural America. When I was growing up there was only 1 dentist in my town. I live in the town over now and we might have 3 dentists. Even in the larger town 35 miles away where there is 20-25 what they go by is precisely what insurance will pay. It can take 3-6 mos for them to hear what my insurance is going to pay. It doesn't matter how much infection i have they're NOT working on me until they have those insurance $$$$! And since insurance pays for 2 cleanings per yr. incl. the polishing part that is what I'm going to get! I have never been talked to about periodontal disease specifically, even though I know I have it. My dentist and all the dentists i could see use metal fillings and I have alot of fillings. I almost don't want to hear this because I am at the mercy to these basic ways of dentistry. I'm not wealthy so i can't go far away to see a dentist like these two.

Frankly, you best option is probably to make your own with a choice cold pressed oil, like coconut, add in baking soda to lower acidity, and essential oils you enjoy like peppermint (has good effects on blood flow and bacteria). Use whatever soft bristle brush you like and don’t over brush or brush too hard. Don’t scrub. And quit sugar in all forms other than found in Whole Foods. That’s the way of nature. No need for flourode if you eat a Whole Foods diet, fast often, drink alkaline spring water and brush occasionally.

Two to three normal bowel movements a day is ideal. Stool neither too soft nor too hard. If you have loose bowels or constipation that is chronic or reoccurring, that is an indication that your gut biome is not balanced. If you have frequent or reoccurring heartburn, belching, flatulence, bloating, discomfort in the stomach or abdomen, etc., all signs of gut biome imbalance. A good place to start for me was to regularly eat fermented foods like unsweetened yogurt (skip the sweetened kind; add fruit instead), fermented pickles, sauerkraut, kefir, and miso paste. Lessen or eliminate highly processed foods/fast foods/packaged foods, lessen or eliminate refined sugar and excess salt, avoid fried foods (get an air fryer instead, no oil), find out if you have any food allergies or food sensitivities, all of which cause inflammation in the entire digestive tract. Avoid alcohol and excess caffeine.

So I been brushing with “natural” toothpaste sweetened with xylitol for several years now. The primary reason being I hate the taste of mint toothpastes. I brush daily but have had signs of gum inflammation. Now I wonder if the xylitol is not healthy. I would love for someone like this doctor to developed a really healthy toothpaste that does not harm the heathy bacterial environment of the mouth, as well as a mouth rinse. I do not use mouthwash. I feel like I don’t know what to brush with. Alot of the natural toothpastes also seem abrasive which I do not think is good for the gums. I wish someone would finally come up with a good product.

The prodentim worked awesome for the bleeding gums and stopped the progression of decay due to periodontal disease that was a rapid onset…boron, k2 & d3 along with cell salt supplements that u also take by placing under the tongue and dissolving …it’s made the inflammation go away and has improved the overall health of it all…I take lower doses because of the deficiency I had previously…take a tee spoon of baking soda and a half cup of purified water….must be purified…warm it and mix baking soda well..swish with that for as long as possible then brush the entire mouth then swish with the baking soda and water again…out of everything I’ve tried and read, it’s the most effective at killing the microbes causing periodontal disease but doesn’t kill off the good bacteria and microbes we need to maintain and heal …taking the prodentim and supplements will whiten teeth naturally….which tells me that brushing really has little to do with keeping teeth white…and drinking purified water…im beginning to think it’s the water that’s causing the huge amount of problems suddenly arising in especially Americans…and fluoride is not good for us…dentists are taught sodium fluoride is the same as the natural element found in ground water that helps with bone growth and density …that’s actually fluorine and it’s in very very small amounts in ground water…older dictionaries will give the definitions of them correctly…fluoride is what was used to make the pows during ww2 docile and passive…it eats holes in the bones and the calcium deposits (teeth) lol….

Interesting - I am wondering why he doesn't recommend referring out or including an integrative RD - Registered Dietitian on the dental team - we spend thousands upon thousands of hours counseling patients on these very topics - it takes more than a couple of hours to learn all there is to optimize immunity and the microbiome through nutritional intervention. And, people need help in making the changes. Just telling them what to eat doesn't lead to change. An RD that takes an integrative approach can help patients immensely.

They need to schedule the dentists for more then a crash course in this topic! Most laugh at u if u mention a microbiome! Mine did and he taught at the university! It really scared me away from even trying to get in to see a dentist again…he wouldn’t even do an X-ray because he thought I was a Medicaid patient assumed by the condition of my teeth…mine was sudden onset without much warning…within a few months my teeth suddenly had decay at the base and crumbled…and I had ok teeth especially when in the low carb diet..,carbs were entered back into my diet and that’s when the tooth pain came back and then this mess happened..I knew it wasn’t just not brushing enough because if that were the case.,our teeth would be the first thing to decay at death but they’re actually the last thing to decay after decades…they’re decaying while I’m living but in a human corpse they don’t decay at all sometimes staying intact long enough to become petrified…
