I contracted dengue fever whilst traveling in Cambodia, it was absolutely horrible! Remember to stay hydrated and get lots of sleep! When the itching occurs this is a positive symptom that the virus is being defeated.

Also I wanted to thank you for a very quick and thorough lecture. I am a NP student and we do not here about Dengue much in Kansas. I believe that will soon change.

Are there any long term sequelae from Dengue Fever infection? My father served in the South Pacific during WWII. He had Dengue Fever twice (therefore two different serotypes, correct?) one of which brought on pulm edema. Twenty-five years after his service he was diagnosed with severe heart failure after a MI at age 49. He had 12 siblings and none of them, or his parents were diagnosed with heart failure. Most have lived into their 90s. Could Dengue have contributed to this development?

Thank you Dr.Raihana for the beautiful presentation. When I was working in dengue ward I found the patient s used Aspirin , NSAIDS develops more bleeding manifestations. So during dengue season doctors should be careful using this drugs. I think your lecture will be very helpful for GPS , and medical students aswelas for other doctors

Dear Nancy MD ~ In light of this research, why is the US Federal Government which apparently released these GMO mosquitoes last October, now realizing the outbreak of Dengue fever in Hawaii? As well as the Zika virus in South America? Did they actually cause the spread?

CAC Giloy Capsule as the name suggested “Giloy” is the main ingredient of this medicine. It is a potent immuno-modulator herb. It is beneficial for improving the immunity and prevents from common infections. These tablets provide palliative treatment in fever. The vati reduces Kapha dosha, pacifies Vata and detoxifies the Pitta dosha. It is beneficial in general weakness, recurrent infections, periodic fever syndrome, etc.

is it true that Dengue can cause secondary viruses, like Mono, Epstein Bar..if so what re the long term effects.....I had Dengue in 1998, along with Epstein Barr and Mono...Dr's told me that this would attack my joints. Does it also cause fibromyalgia..

Permanent humidity conditions, the heat of the season, plus the rapid growth of plants and grass, favor the reproduction of these annoying insects that, in extreme cases, go from being a nuisance to a public health problem.

The cold, at least that is the popular belief, promises some peace. But while the dry climate and the low temperatures "scare away" the mosquitoes - if these conditions are maintained for at least three days -, they look for ways to get even closer to the man and take shelter in the houses, where the environment It is more comfortable for its development. Then, the problem of dengue - for example - does not disappear with the change of season. "It is true that the biological activity of Aedes aegypti decreases with the cold, but they live with us at home, where the climate is more controlled" El frío, al menos esa es la creencia popular, promete algo de paz.
