I'm glad Saba won. The song really comes alive with the live performance and the camera shot during the bridge is beautiful.

Saba’s live vocals were swapped in the video you saw, as she had some in-ear issues in this performance which threw her off a bit and made the vocals a little shaky. Luckily she did sound a lot better and more confident in her super final performance!

My friends and I (all Lithuanians) were in arena on Saturday and we heard songs for the first time. The only song we liked was Saba, so we were happy that she has won. Audience was supporting "Johnny" song and we just couldn't understand why, luckily Saba has made it through 🙂 Visually and vocally it was the most interesting of all.

Honestly, it was a very well produced national final by Denmark. The performances were all good or great imo. The superfinal consisting of my top three was a pleasant surprise. Sand is great and I hope Denmark gets back into the grand final this year. It's my 5th place currently.

Saba was my number 1 when the studios came out My top 3 on the night all made the superfinal so I was so so happy I loved Basim and he deserved to win the televote (he was my number 2) The jury got it right though by going for Saba - Denmark’s best shot at qualifying

Saba is really growing on me, and watching the performance i can see a potentiale in it, a dark horse for me in May, if she gets the vocals right

If you're wondering how the guy with "i need your love" qualified, it's probably because he's from the Faroe Islands, and they always get a huge support in Denmark.

I loved Saba's performance and it really elevated the song by a lot! And as a dane, it just makes me super happy and excited to see people actually liking our song this year! And also not seeing us at the bottom of the scoreboards is so nice for a change! (still early on, but it still means something) I don't think I've been this happy about people's perception of our song since 2018! (2019 was very borderline for most people, even if we qualified, it was also very barely). I really hope Saba qualifies and we get to join the final once again! It doesn't matter where we end up in the end~ (but words say that jury will probably like the song)

Basims performance was great by the way. The staging was quite cool, it was a better version of Maps (Ireland Eurovision 2021) staging mixed with the staging of Heroes. It was a very fun watch. I really thought it was going to win.

I watched only the last part of the TV-programme Danish MGP, with the 3 songs. Out of these three, my favourite was the one with Janus Wiberg; maybe hard to qualify from the semi in ESC. My fingers crossed that Denmark will qualify this year! ❤ Last time was in 2019(?). Thumbs up from your neighbouring country Norway.

Saba revealed that the team spent some of their own money on lasers and lights so that would probably be the reason why the staging was so much better than the others 😅

It's generic but good generic! It's very heartfelt and passionate and the staging is already great by Denmark's standards. Further improvements to staging at Eurovision could lead to this being amazing. It's like Tattoo's sequel. Denmark might sail through this year given that they're in the weaker semi final.

The guy in the front in the yellow t-shirt is apparently an avid music fan and especially Eurovision. Goes to a ton of concerts and always has that energy, don’t know it myself, but several people told it in comments somewhere else.

In hearing Shane talk about Janus, I get flashbacks to another video where Shane said he does not pay too much attention to the lyrics. Denmark should be glad that Saba went through despite coming third in the televote, I am assuming that those who voted for Basim would have had Saba as their #2.

Interesting that you could hear that in the KZfaq version of the live performance the song in fact is NOT live. If you were in Denmark or use a VPN you could gain access the national tv station web tv platform and watch the REAL live performance. In short her lower register is shaky especially in the beginning of the song. The chorus still slaps! 😊

I think it has potential. Not my cup of tea but if they aim to just to qualify then i think they stand a good chance.

Aura's performance was a bit like they took everything from a very weird brainstorm session and threw it all together 😂

DR uploaded the Basim live performance before unlisting it for some reason, and now it's just deleted. However, someone else has uploaded the full performance if you want to watch it. I wasn't into "Johnny" as a studio cut, but I understand why Basim won the televote. He's a very charismatic performer, and the lyrics had a poignant backstory which resonated with people. Regardless, I think Saba was the best option in terms of qualifying chances. "Sand" sounds like something Sweden would send (after all Swedish songwriters were involved). If it makes the final, I think the juries will rank it high, and do okay in the televote.

Oh yay, another video, you are delaying my bedtime Shane 😆 Aura's performance was interesting, let's call it that. Oh, and that person in the front jumping up and down was like it all night, regardless whether the song was an upbeat number or a sad love song. I think he had too much sugar and caffiene (and perhaps other substances as well 🤪) I really liked Ublu's song, and I actually think it should have made the superfinal. Think it would have been a really cool and difference entry for Denmark if selected. Chu Chu's song was a mess in studio and a mess in live for me, and quite an underwhelming performance really, and vocally were rocky in places. Janus, first of all, he stole Sara's swinging lightbulb from UMK. The live really did elevate this quite a bit, and vocally he was really strong. Ah man, thats a shame you couldn't find the live performance for Basim. I have one word to say to you Shane, and that is ROBBBED. There was a robbery on Saturday night, and Basim was the victim. Going into DMGP I had resigned myself to Basim not winning as nobody was really talking about him. But after all the performances from places I was reading it seemed that people were moving more towards him being the deserved winner. He gave a great vocal and the staging was good, and he really connected with the crowd and audience just like he did back in 2014. This was a really missed chance from Denmark I feel. Right Saba and 'Sand', or as I like to call it 'Bland Sand' (is that harsh of me? 😆) Also whenever I hear that title all I can ever think of is The Simpsons, when they are watching the Sand movie in school. '...where would we be with a life with sand? SAND SAND SAAAAAAAAND' 🤪 Anyways, the fact I am talking about The Simpsons prior to talking about the song should tell you everything on my opinions of it. Also regarding the vocals, you would be correct about it 'not being live', she was increadibly shaky on the low notes on Saturday, and DR have overlayed the studio version over the top of it here in this video. Apparently there were in-ear sound issues going on, but yeah, this audio isn't a true representation of the night. Also, the light show is covering up the fact that there is basically no song underneath it all. I honestly have no idea why people have gone crazy over this. To me this is just utterly dull. But I guess we all have to have one entry we just don't get.

Saba and Basim were my joined winners of the live performances, and Janus was really nice too, so I understood why he was picked as well. No song I hated, Chu Chu was just my least favorite. Janus had great vocals, but maybe people internationaly would see it as a too safe/basic ballad if it had won, unless his strong voice would really sell it enough. Basim did great and really had the crowd going, but I can also see with the overall performance and song why Saba won.

It would be unfair of me to be too strong in my opinions here Shane because i really wasn't invested in DMGP this year. Saba's song is fine. Very "Melfesty" and sounds a polished, Swedish product and that isn't a bad thing. This is "nice" but does "nice" cut it in ESC? I wish Saba all the best in Malmö 👏👏

Saba was my favourite from day one, so I am glad she won. But, I saw the live in direct and her voice was not sounding that perfect as in this clip you are watching. She actually had sound problems and had to take her earpiece out. Inmediately after the show finished, it was taken of KZfaq and the clip that is now available and is supposed to be live is definately retouched, I swear. Nevertheless, she did SUPER and I am really happy she won. I love this song very much but, is it a ESC winner...nah. Basim did very well, but to me it was a bit underwhelming. He looked like he was really having a good time though. Aura was an absolute NO for me 😂😂. The staging was based on the picture of her single, didn't you see that? Janus gained a lot of points with me too because of this live performance (I am also a sucker for strings 😉) so after this final I wanted or him or Saba to win. Have a good night sleep 😘

In the live show Sabas vocal was not so good. In the official video the vocal has been «fixed».

Good: radio friendly song with nice staging. Not so good: vocals issue and lack of charisma + the 1 half of the 2 semi is going to be full of powerful female acts and I'm not sure this will stand out.

Saba’s original vocal has been swapped in the official video. Her live performance was bad, especially the first verse with the low notes. So when we see people’s reactions to ‘Sand’ now, we can expect most of them to be positive towards the live performance when in fact she was disappointing on stage - actually in all three performances. Hopefully, she will improve so we won’t see another embarrassing vocal failure from Denmark as we did last year. The song itself - well, too much of a slightly above average Melfest song (and it’s written by Swedes). I would have preferred Aura or Basim.
