As an Italian myself, I can tell that from what I learned the government decoded not to build a bridge between continental Italy and Sicily for 4 major reasons: 1 there would be no roads to connect the bridge to the rest of the railroad system 2 even if that gap is very small, the water is very deep 3 there is a fault right in between the Mediterranean that passes between the Messina canal so there would be a risk for earthquakes. 4 we really suck at building bridges

I think that following the Good Friday Agreement, which explicitly mandates that Ireland can reunify at any time and without needing Britain's permission, it's a stretch to still call NI an occupied territory. The thing that has kept NI part of the UK is the will of the people of NI. (And by the way, that will is visibly weakening - there's a Stormont election in May, and Sinn Fein are currently leading in the polls, so that border poll might not be too far away...)

Hey! you should look into african hydrology and the congo river, its actually a huge river but Africa is a Mesa so the rivers rush a lot faster and it leads to a lot of stunts in growth for African countries. Sending love from Georgia (USA)!

just correcting you here Britain did go for Europe including claiming France and going in a war but were not successful so did not really have any colonies or take over Europe
@augustobarbosab.773
@augustobarbosab.773 2 жыл бұрын
They did have "colonies" (depending on your definition) in Europe though like Malta and Cyprus (as mentioned in the video). Also, England did maintain territories of France: the islands of Jersey and Guernsey. And technically the queen does hold the title "Duke of Normandy" because of those islands.

One place you missed that is incredibly well placed is Oman. But not because of their territory south of the UAE it's what's north of it. Oman controls a plot of water called The Strait of Hormuz. What makes it important is that it is the gate to like 90% of the world's energy. Whoever controls The Strait of Hormuz controls the oil and by extension the world.
