I was so discouraged at my on the job training that I thought about quitting. I cried the other day because I felt stupid, like I wasn’t getting it. Your video REALLY helped me (more than my trainer has) and you explain things really well. Thank you. I decided to keep trying :)

i am also new as an assistant and yesterday i worked with a substitute dentist for the first time and she was so sweet and she gave me tips and today i worked with the regular dentist who is a perfectionist with demands and did not do anything right in her eyes i have cried because of that and wanted to stop. she doesn't want to assist with me anymore... it also depends on the dentist how understanding they are.

I just started as a dental assistant today. It was very hard as I wasn’t trained correctly and was thrown on the spot today to assist for the dentist. I’m being trained on the job it’s very difficult being new in this industry

Ashley Fortier I started back in mid April with absolutely no experience & am finally starting to feel very confident! It is very very difficult I agree but it definitely gets better. Everyone would tell me when I started that the more I chair side assist, the more I’ll learn which is hard to hear when you are a nervous wreck like me but it’s 100% true. Dental assisting I’ve learned is very repetitive! Hang in there because it gets so much better & you will do great.

@@anastasiasantiago8385 Thank you so much!! You are so right!!! I am finally catching on a bit. I am a nervous wreck also, my hands are finally starting to steady and I nolonger fear stabbing someone's gag reflex while excavating . Thank you for your kind words of encouragement!!! Good luck and happy to hear you are doing well. I wish you great success for your future.

Ms. Monge Valenzuela Mesial is the surface of the tooth that is closest to the midline of the mouth, which is the vertical line that divides the mouth in half. Distal is the surface of the tooth that is the furthest away from the midline of the mouth. It is hard to explain without visuals, so my advice would be to look at diagrams, this helps a lot when preparing for your boards.

No wait time, very efficient, pleasant and professional staff. They were very thorough in all steps of my dental visit and explained everything to me in simple to understand terms and pointed out things that other dentists never have - this office goes above and beyond in your visit to make sure teeth health is the best it can be and also offered great suggestions to me on how to maintain. Thank you!

Another way to help remember the teeth numbers is they go in a "box" or "square" when you are counting them. like 8 9 24 25 or 1 16 17 32 and so on. That helps me. Your videos about this stuff really helps me. I am on externship and these definitely help break it down and make things easier.

I’m currently on externship and in my opinion I find the experience on the field much more understandable than what I was taught in class lol but it makes things so much easier if you just keep in mind that premolars are 4,5,12,13,20,21,28,29 if you know those knowing the teeth numbers makes it so much easier!! Love reviewing this!! Thanks so much!!

Thank you. This is the first of many videos I'll be watching on the quest to becoming an assistant. I didn't go to school for this, so I need all of the help that I can get. Currently partaking in on the job training after a year of being a care coordinator. I've done a lot of things as a healthcare professional, and am excited to get on to the next chapter. If I had known about the benefits to working in dental versus medical I would've avoided hospital settings and went straight to dental. Anyway, I really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge with the world. Hoping to return to work day by day, surprising my peers by knowing things they wouldn't expect for me to know. I appreciate you! 🖤

The way I learned it (currently in dental assistant school), I am actually doing the course in French in Canada, and the way they teach us is that when facing the patient, there are four quadrants top right: Q1 top left: Q2 Bottom right: Q3 and bottom left: Q4. The 3rd molar on Q1 starts at 18 until the first tooth (in French its incisive centrale) then on Q2 it starts at 28 to 21. Then on the bottom right 3rd molar so Q3 starts at 38 to 31 and Q4 it starts at 48 to 41. Sounds confusing but it’s interesting how terms change depending where you live.

Hi and I halt working as a DA in 2000 due to be becoming a caregiver for my mom. Did it for almost 20 years and I liked it. Unfortunately, most of the offices I worked at was horrible with jealousy, no team work and politics. My favorite was Endodontic, so maybe you can do a video on that. Enjoy watching to review just in case I want to return to the field. Wish the had that needle protector back in my days. Keep up the good work.

I know this isn’t always the case for all offices but I was truly blessed to get this office. Really nice people. I’m a fast learner also so everything is just coming to me naturally as it was taught to me in school. Don’t be nervous or let the pressure get to you. Just relax and remain confident even if you aren’t that excelled or proficient in a certain area just be willing to learn and willing to help others around you.

Dentists may know what sweet teeth are but not really what they are used for so I am here as a good spiritual soul and healer to let them know. When you take sweet teeth out you can use them to remove a bad spirit nearby by putting them in their feet or liver. You can also use them to heal good souls that need some help put the sweet teeth removed in any sore or dark spot in their spirits.

We count the teeth completely different. We have mouth parted in to four quarts. With the front teeth starting as 1 towards the wisdom teeth that have always the number 8. So according to that for instance it's starts in the first quart with 11, 12, 13,14,15,16,17,18. With the first number resembling the part of the mouth your in. So first quart, and the second number for the tooth. For the baby teeth it's quart 5,6,7 and 8. For instance it would be 51,52,53,54,55. 61,62,63,64,65 and so on

Hey I'm studying right now dental assisting in college and I have the textbook and workbook, we just learned about tooth surfaces and numbers( also how to count them correctly) if you want I can send you pictures of it, so you can start becoming more advanced in your knowledge (: you'll be a much more valuable team member and will be likely to get trained to do more tasks, and if you decide to in the future you can become an RDA! If you wanna see that chapter I just told you about I have insta I can send them through there (: good luck with your training and hope you get lots more duties and tasks!! 🙌🏼🤍
