I would argue that learning challenging spots with static tension in the hand/arm and by using too much force is not desirable, and even dangerous, especially when you practice the weaker hand. My approach is to rather improve coordination, dexterity, and to learn how to use gravity together with stabilization of knuckle bridge and nail joints, in order to make your playing feel very strong, but natural at the same time.

11:53 An exclusive tip: Mirrored Practicing. For a reason explained here you might also start practicing scales in opposite motion first, both hands start from the center in opposite directions and back.
Here is a small list of studies dedicated to the left hand. You can get most of them for free on imslp.org. Please remember to focus on coordination and dexterity rather than force, and plan well the spots where you would release tension. For this, you break longer patterns into shorter sections as demonstrated in video, and first would learn them by making gaps between group of notes with immediate finger release between groups. Diminish gaps gradually, but maintain a sensation of release in such spots even when not making breaks anymore.
Please share with me and others your own favorite left hand focused pieces in comments!
