☆ in this video, let's watch some tiktoks about depop sellers and discuss what a long-time depop seller thinks of the new wave of hate happening on TikTok (that's me). THESE COMMENTS ARE SO SAD AND LITERALLY BULLYING! the wave of hate is totally awful and no seller deserves to be ridiculed and bullied online, no excuses. these comments and videos are doing more harm than the actual sellers, like c'mon guys. also, I forgot to block out the usernames of some depop sellers and tiktok commenters and creators in this video, and if I catch any of you saying "I came from Hannah's video you suck" or anything like that, ill eat your toes for breakfast. don't do that please. thank you babes.

“Vintage curators” have an actual physically real store, usually. Selling clothes on depop isn’t a job or real, it’s exploitation no matter how much “work” you put into it. I do my own laundry too, I don’t start an LLC over it.

i love looking at clothes on depop and think it’s a great place to buy used clothing from, because i don’t like fast fashion. but i also find it very hard to buy clothing off there sometimes. for example: i’ve been looking a lot for old levi’s but i cant find any under $80. and my mom said she didn’t even pay that much for them when she bought hers in the 90’s or 2000’s. and i completely understand that it can be rare to find them, but i also think pricing can be outrageous. and i agree with you that i think it probably goes back to when one person sees how much it went for and then it’s just a domino effect of high prices.

yep!!! also fyi: i agree levi’s should not be so expensive especially since they’re the most common brand of denim, not even designer! i suggest checking out goodwill for levi’s, the men’s section especially!

i sell on depop and honestly most of what wrong with the app is not really the sellers but the company allowing things like dropshipping and spam tagging bc it makes them more money . Also if you want to have a chance to be on the explore page your item must be over 20 dlls and to be a top seller you have to sell things at +20 dlls value . I try my best to keep a low price on my stuff and still make a bit but I know my shop most likely wont be as noticed bc i would have to sell with higher prices just so the company can make a higher amount of money. :/

i agree with everything ur saying! i might make a video about everything wrong with depop, including the fact how top sellers complain about issues and depop fixing things that aren’t broken.

Fellow Depop seller here! Love this video, you explained it well, I've gotten quite a few hate comments on my tik toks before, and I'm sure I'll continue to get them the more that I make them. People on tik Tok are so quick to judge thrifters/resellers before doing their research on what they're speaking on(in most cases) I've been told to rot in hell because I thrift LOL. I agree that there are some bad apples on depop, along with anywhere you go, shop ect. but the way TIKTOK generalizes all Depop sellers/thrifters is really toxic. And these will be the same people who ALWAYS buy/support from fast fashion.

Imo a lot of sellers post things for a higher price because it leaves room for negotiation. I think constant lowballing from buyers probably has influenced the prices on depop.

I appreciate your comments on keywords in the Depop descriptions! I always feel like such a dork with tags but Depop really does push listings with keywords like that and specific formatting for your intro sentences. I hear sellers complain about it more often than not too honestly. Thanks for all your informative work!

Also some sellers accept offers and list the price a little higher expecting people will offer lower. Obviously that doesn’t excuse ALL overpricing but listing something maybe 10-15 more than it’s worth if you accept offers is understandable

It's all about supply and demand. I know it's shitty that things can resell for higher prices but some companies actually produce limited stock of certain items to generate a higher demand for it and therefore gives their brand more value. Hopefully that makes sense. I can't speak on everything, but I know there was like a north face brown puffer jacket that got SUPER popular because Kendall Jenner wore it, so the resell value went up into the $300-400s. Also for brands like brandy Melville, certain pieces are only sold at certain stores, and aren't even available on their online website so some people consider certain pieces "rare." I totally agree with you though, BM should NEVER cost $100, and drop shipping is whack. I mainly thrift/shop second hand. But yeah, just wanted to share! Love this video and love your vibe

Just got in a fight with my mom about it, we both like that girls are reselling clothes from thrift stores and making money from it but I hate drop shippers which is where the misunderstanding came from. Thank you. I would def buy like a 100 dollar vintage dress but not an 85 fruit of the loom T-shirt

Honestly.. I hate when measurements are wrong. I always wanted this one belt and measurements were 25" to 27" I'm a 26-27 so I knew it would fit. I didn't know it meant that was the length of the whole belt 💀💀💀 I couldn't even get a refund
