I've had this idea for the past couple months to buy a rebuilt title Gen 2 Coyote Mustang GT with a 6R80 Automatic transmission to start a drag strip build series! Out of all the Mustangs ever made the Gen 2 Coyote Mustang has definitely had the most success when it comes to the horsepower they produce, their looks and the fact they can be raced over and over again!

Hear me out!! We will play around with the 2024 Mustang for a bit and when I feel like it's time to freshen things up, we find a *REBUILT TITLE* Gen 2 6R80 and completely chop it up to start a "budget" drag build!! Derek said exactly why I went Gen 2 with my 15, 84k miles and I'm building a whole new block to transplant into it in a few years. Doing proper maintenance on a Gen 2 even if you beat it to hell I don't see them breaking often.

Love the Gen 2. Me and the wife have a 2017 saleen white label in grabber blue. So far all it has is a tune, but long tubes on the way and I'll go from there. It's an absolute beast with its suspension package and fun as hell to drive. I'll send you a pic if you want!

My brothers 2014 Q50 3.7 and also tuned is at almost 200k miles and it still runs strong. Took it to the drag strip multiple times and has gotten on it so many times. It’s on a stock transmission as well and has had 0 problems. Can’t go wrong with a 370z or Q50 with the 3.7 V6. The new VR30 is on a whole new level though and is a twin turbo V6. Mustangs are pretty reliable too for an American V8 muscle car.

If the clutch pedal is squeaking, there’s a very good change the welds on the clutch pedal are broke, it’s a common issue that I have went through myself on my s550

I also think Minion would look more aggressive if Brandon put a nicer spoiler. I’m a fan of the 2020 GT500 wing with the Gurney Flap, like the one on your Mach. That’s what I would do if I had a s550.

I have a 2015 GT Premium auto that is a F.B.O. on E85 with 50k miles just had to have motor mounts replace driver side was leaking fluid so I did the BMR motor mounts

@@DerekBaranProductions eh with gen 2 heads it will lift a head before the bottom end pops, gen 1 and 2 bores are steel lined! gen 3 bottom just has beefier casting in between the water jacket! gen 2 heads love boost because of the increased air flow from larger intake and exhaust ports, and larger valves. on the other hand some late 2014s even have boss rods! the gen 3 cylinder bore is larger though! that's why the gen 3s are 5.035L compared to the gen 1 and 2's 4.951L displacement! this is because Ford reverted to plasma transferred wire arc thermal spray bore lining of the cylinder walls instead of steel liners in order to allow a slightly larger bore size in the gen 3. The block casting was beefed up to compensate for the absence of the steel liners. But the gen 2 heads have a slightly bigger head volume than the gen 3 heads, so the compression ratio is 11:1 compared to 12:1 in gen 3. can make more power with less boost with the higher compression gen 3! and this is why gen 2 can handle the most boost!

I wouldn’t even rebuild, plenty of people who have boosted high mileage gen 2s. Do a compression test if you want to make sure you have a decently healthy engine and throw the boost if it’s solid across all 8. I’m in the same boat 2016 gt with right at 88k miles, and it’s getting ESS soon as it’s paid off.
