Hello, Peter, I really enjoy ur walks through the nursery, definitely not a waste of time. Get to see all those beautiful trees through your eyes, and hear their stories. I will never get the opportunity to see ur lovely plants or buy them, because I'm living thousands of kms from the UK, down here in South Africa. I collected about 50 bonsai starter plants from North Washington state in the US, finished making a bonsai pot with native clays from my area, but the iceing on the cake at the end of the day is watching your video this evening.

I was glad to see those magnolia stellata at around 17 minutes! I had a conversation with Peter on KZfaq a couple weeks ago about those magnolias, if only I lived in the UK, one of those would be in my yard ASAP! Thanks for the tour Peter, everything looks beautiful! That crab apple group Tebow (Pardon if I misspelled his name) made, around 24:40 is awesome too!

Peter your videos are totally amazing. I have always wanted to try growing bonsai but thought it was something that was unattainable without years of study, mastery, and/or huge bags of cash. Watching you has made me feel confident enough to try growing from cuttings and seeing what happens. I love listening to you and watching you work, it’s become a favourite pass time in just a few short weeks. I’ve already learnt so much and I’ll definitely continue watching and learning from you. Thank you so much for sharing and showing that, bonsai is for everyone.

Wow that was stunning and really enjoyable. I for one will never tire of these walking tours so much info and inspiration. I love how that oak tree is throwing out new buds like crazy lovely to see the follow up on these. Please dont stop these tour. Amazed at how many species and wonderful trees you have. When I come visit it will have to be for a week so much to see and enjoy. Thank you so much for sharing

used to visit there over 40 years ago when had started to to gather my collection....sat talking in front of the bungalow about the trees peter had for sale..( long time ago ) used to grow my own Deshojo maples from cuttings. trick was to use a silver sand ( washed with a handfull of compost mixed in ) and Water-retaining granules. worked quite well as had lots of little white roots in a few weeks ( very fragile roots i might add )

It is awesome getting to see some color. I would love to visit your nursery someday. But I probably won’t get to. But I just got to so luck me. Thank you again.

It is always incredibly difficult to choose, but this may be my most favorite of your videos to date. I saved it, because it was so long. I watched it tonight while putting up spring ceilings for my vegetable garden. Thank you so much for all you do for a bonsai. Bonsai for everyone!

What a wonderful tour, Peter. Thank you for sharing it with us. I love magnolias, they are one of my favourite trees, but it is very difficult to get them here as bonsai. I have a sprout just germinated from seed, but I've read that it could take 10 years to give its first bloom. Anyway, bonsaist patience, I guess. I can't wait to go to the UK to visit your nursery. Sending you a big hug from Madrid, Spain.

My mountain maple is just like yours. I actually planted it from seed from Sheffields in England 32 yrs ago. So cool.

Thank you so much, Dear Peter! Your videos helped me a lot to keep my very busy mind sane and I just started my bonsai journey with too ordinary red norway spruces (picea rubens) I dug out. I will keep them in a cold wintergarden with strong indirect light from east. Looking forward to the upcoming growing season in their training pots. It's a (hopefully) humble start of my journey and you are 100% the motivation to start with Bonsai. Additionally I wanted to mention, you are true master in a wise teacher's mindset and Bonsai. The timing of the flowering/leafing is partly determined (epi)genetically. So it may vary depending on the climate of where the ancestral tree grew. Of course current environmental factors also play a role.

I would say that about 98% of the Deshojo seeds I bought from Herons have germinated along with the crab apple seeds and the Small Leaf Maples, but up to now none of the Trident Maples have broken the soil but I am not worried, I can concentrate on growing on the Deshojo Maples.

Thats good to know. If you sow the seeds correctly - you get very good germination as our seeds are fresh.

I followed your video on sowing the Maple seeds so not sure why no Trident Maples have broken the soil at this time but can always try again after your next seed collection in the Autumn, I am just happy the amount of Deshojo germinated.

Hi Peter...i watched your video all the way through and appreciate all your hard work that goes on at Heron's...thank you for showing us those beauty's...my Deshojo i purchased from you is showing a very healthy and bountiful lot of...bright red leaves and is very healthy...unfortunately the 2 Dawn Redwoods i got from Heron's didn't survive the winter frosts up here...my fault and lesson learned...i didn't cover them properly to overwinter, so this winter i covered all my trees with a doubled up layer of protection...and all are budding and starting to come into leaf, all the best take care GL&H Bonsai,ing Gordon.

This walk-through was AMAZING! Great job teebo by cleaning up looks great! It would be soo hard for me to part with any of those maple specimens. Can't wait to see those satsukis in bloom. This was a wonderful walk-through Peter I feel honored! Hey Peter out here in the US we have a tree now blooming called cercis chinensis or also called redbud. Does anyone bonsai these trees or do u have any of them cause they are amazing in bloom?

I used to make Cercis silaquatrum bonsai but difficult process, so we dont do them anymore. They have beautiful purple flowers that bloom on the bare trunks and branches.
