Over the last couple of years there has been a dramatic change in business models. Many of the fastest growing and highly valued companies are platform-based firms like ber, Amazon or Google. The major change happened in the way the companies create value for their customers. Do you think a platform company creates just as much value as a traditional manufacturer?
Paul is currently finishing his PhD thesis on open interfaces and platform strategies at the Technical University of Berlin. He was invited to speak at multiple international conferences and was asked to join the research group of a highly recognized MIT professor in early 2017. During his time in Boston as a visiting research fellow at the Sloan School of Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he worked with experts on the topics of technology evolution and platform design. Prior to that, Paul has worked for a startup company and a digitalization consulting firm in Berlin. What would you like to see in the future? Amazon, Google, Facebook, Uber, and AirBnB are some of the most successful companies of the 21st century and are examples of different types of platform businesses. However they exist only thanks to one shared, open platform: the internet. More firms should take advantage of the possibilities which the internet provides and should make use of platform desig

I appreciate the effort. But in 2019 this could have been said in 5 Minutes. Very vague stating of already existing business ideas

While I appreciate the effort, the examples and the delivery is rather...clunky . I'd recommend Sangeet Paul Choudary, who gave a lot of talks on this topic as well if I wanna know more.

Not defending BMW as it's is not a good example. But this guy has mistake market capitalisation with Value. Common error. Uber has destroyed more values than it creates.

UBER has destroyed the taxi mafia when a taxi ride would cost like a transcontinental flight. I don't care if most of that money was the cost of license or whatever. I don't want my trip from airport to hotel cost as much as my 3 day stay. Thanks UBER for crushing one of the largest rip-offs of the modern days.
