Harvard Law’s first deafblind graduate, Haben Girma, excelled in large part because people created accessible technology. Haben, who works at Disability Rights Advocates, encourages the development of accessible services and products. Recognized as a Champion of Change by the White House, Haben moves us towards a world where people with disabilities access the same services, on the same devices, and at the same time as non-disabled consumers. Technology designed with accessibility in mind truly transforms the lives of people with disabilities. Through this thoughtful discussion, Haben invites everyone to design products from the ground up with universal access in mind. To learn more about Haben, visit habengirma.com. Public speaking is *way* harder than it looks, and DAMN her responses were intellectually beautiful. Can we appreciate how insightful and structured her speaking was, how relatable her body language and energy, even with the tough crowd... I wanna see her irl!

Honestly watched the entire thing and was amazed. This person is amazing and cannot wait to hear about the strides she will make in the DA community. Hopefully Google will take to account her comment made about KZfaq videos being captioned better. :D

I have spent all day watching her videos, and seeing just how wonderful she is. However, can we take a moment and talk about how cute and adorable the friend she went to law school with is.

Thanks Ms. Haben Girma for your introduction and inspiration. Thanks President Obama, Vice President Biden, and legislatures for supporting the rights of people with disabilities. And I still want to be an Attorney.

***** You're right that she doesn't have one, but she could have a braille computer at her fingertips with notes and you wouldn't see that with this camera angle. Just saying. :D

Josh Tremblay How does talking about her possibly having notes or slides at access, as many speakers do, take ANYTHING from her? Is she only impressive if she pulls a rabbit out of her hat, or can she stand with her own content? Why are YOU puttng some emotional value judgment on this? You're a jerk for trying to play some kind of pity thing on this tiny technical point.

not really http -- more so how apps and sites are designed to take disabled people in mind. http has almost nothing to do with it.
