After about 3 weeks of ownership, I noticed some water coming in from the handles, and wasn,t super stoked on the lock cylinders they decided to use. Jumped into fusion to design some handle covers to help keep the weather off the handles and the lock cylinder.

I understand that these are small issues and every option seems to have its quirks. I just hope that as issues like this are brought to the company, they try to find better parts moving forward. It seems like Lone Peak is addressing issues as they arise so hopefully when my order is ready in August, it will be all sorted out and leak free!

Don't think they have any plans on changing the handles anytime soon, but possibly! I know Kyle told me that on the second version of the camper they plan on changing them, but not sure when that will be

For what it’s worth, I haven’t had any water intrusion in my handles and I’ve had in on since early December.

@@dirtywooky6557 yea, I think a big part of it is wheel and tire offset and location. Everyone will have different experiences with it for sure

Badass! Can you do a freeway speed test to see if they stay in place too? I'll definitely be purchasing some if you end up putting them on etsy! Good stuff man

I haven't hit the freeway yet. But I did do a run down the highway here at 60, don't tell the cops, and I have no issues so far. But I want to test these for a week or two to make sure everything's kosher before I decide if I want to put them up. It's a very long process to make them, but I have no problem doing it if the interest is there

@upper_left_adventures thats good news! I appreciate the time you're investing into making these things and dialing them in. Thank you!

Would printing a plug for that hole work?
@upper_left_adventures
@upper_left_adventures 4 ай бұрын
A plug would help, I looked into that, but there is 3 holes total, the larger one and 2 smaller ones, and still have the issue with the lock cylinder being open. But a plug would help probably 85% of the issue with the water, and swapping to some sort of cap for the lock cylinder would most likely fix most of the issues. Hard to tell how dirt and mud will do with the latch mechanism over time.

Have you thought about designing a rain gutter for the front corners?

Yea, that's on my list of things to look into. Going to try out a few options already offered online. Rv roof gutters and a few things have been designed for gfc that I may try

I'm actually taken back at how much you have to fix on these.

To be fair, I think I was the first Colorado with the camper and so the SEAL issue has already been fixed on their end. If I wanted to drive all the way over there I'm sure they would have fixed it for me but it's easier for me to fix that. And I don't think there's a single camper on the market that comes with any sort of dust cover on their handles. I expected there to be a lot of issues with the camper when I got it as they just started pumping them out. Go fast camper is about $3,000 more and they have leak issues on every single one of their campers. Still no regrets

It honestly happens with all of them, regardless of brand.

I don't have this. We have a Tune M1, but I like to watch others videos to get ideas. That being said, if you are concerned just Google any brand and you will see minor nitpicky stuff with them all.

I appreciate all the videos you’ve been posting, but I have to be honest: they’re making me consider canceling my pre-order.

I still even now would have no hesitation pre-ordering a camper. To be fair, I think I'm one of the first Colorado's and they've already fixed the SEAL issue on the production side. And there is not a single camper on the market that I can think of that comes with any sort of dust cover on their handles and they all have the same issues. And to be fair, go fast camper still has leak issues in every single one of their tents that I've talked to people about, and they know the issues there, and they have never fixed it. Take everything I post lightly, as I'm a tinkerer, so even if there is nothing wrong, I'd still find things to fix and make better. Are travel trailer that we paid over $30,000 for I have completely redone the inside of it LOL
