I bought black Opal and Fashion Fair because of Desiree. She's very active on Instagram with the brand. I grew up on FF, but it became tough to find until the relaunch . I have a black Opal eye shadow palette . The shades are pigmented and the shades I wear most. Pinks, blush, brown, plum.

I'm Kenyan and when we saw makeup with our faces in different tones in our cosmetic shops, we were awestruck to say the least. It was my first makeup that I bought back in the day. It inspired Kenyan women to also start Kenyan makeup brand. The rippling effect of seeing someone do it goes across the world.

@@wanguikariuki7673 My mom allowed me to wear chocolate raspberry lipstick in the 11th grade and eyeliner .The eyeliner was under my eye's not my lipstick. The lipstick was creamy and pigmented then and I hope it still is today. I have chocolate raspberry in the brown bronze tube. I'm actually digging out of the tube with the end of a lipstick brush.

It’s interesting you said FF was hard to find at some point. I have two memories of going to Macys for FF & their counter never had a designated person working at it. It was always other makeup brands had women working them & id have to wait for one of them to come over to help me once trying to steer me to another brand.
@ItsMyLifeDaralynn
@ItsMyLifeDaralynn Ай бұрын
@@NOLAGirl4Life I use to have to wait a long time and they would come over with a deep sigh. Some would suggest that I try other brands and I would politely tell them, no with a smile. I wished that the models for FF were actually real women from that time period , because I feel it's lacking the passion and representation from our time. I remember my mom getting off work and before she's kick off her heels I'd tell her I needed to run to Macy's because I was out of FF lipstick. I believe it was about 10 bucks back then. My mom would wait in the car and I'd stand in line for my lipstick. I had a high school friend that wore it at well, and would would always pull out our cute pink compacts to check our makeup. Fun times , in fact my senior year book picture I have on FF lipstick . Fun times !

You use to model for FF? Wow! Thanks for sharing . I think today FF, should use some everyday women as models. Women who actually grew up wearing it and sneaking into their moms pink compacts , like I did....hehe Mix the old with the new ... meaning the OG's with the new generation models . Fresh ideas are always needed. If they ever, ever, ever, discontinue Chocolate Raspberry lipstick, someone is going to have to answer to me. 😂😂

I have one suggestion regarding her make-up products. Please consider in renaming them to your name. You have a lovely first name. Make the products your own. I haven't seen Fashion Fair and Black Opal on the market in decades. I will certainly look out for them. Consider having a fragrance-free make-up line too. I always look for those products due to my sensitivity of fragrances/perfumes. I haven't seen an interview with Desiree since she interviewed me years ago. Great interview!
