Wow. Good for you. Sorry you had the radio silence but he was/is still young and impressionable. I can honestly say that I still did some stupid and emotional things between the ages of 18-22. By 22-23 my more "grown-up" mind began to take over and I was less emotional, less reactive, more mature. It's funny bc when looking into Amber's personality disorder SOME of it reminded me of my younger self. Not to such an extreme of course but still THINGS reminded me of sort of my more selfish ways, and I was definitely more me me me (it was really mostly towards my parents who I had issues with). Then I read about how psychologists have a more difficult time applying the label BPD to teens due to their emotional immaturity. But it still can be applied. Anyway...the first portion of it did give me a bit of a feeling of "whew" bc in no way, shape or form do I act (probably by the age of 22 or so) in the much more emotional or selfish ways I did as my younger self. It really didn't even fit my overall character THEN bc it had little to do with friends and more to do with anger towards my parents. Anyway...I just went off on a tangent lol. My real point was that hopefully your (son?) is sort of gaining some emotional maturity...maybe his "adult brain" is slowly separating from his childhood one, which has been clearly manipulated by your ex. I hope that's the case, and his contact with you will continue as he begins to think more for himself and is less under that childhood influence that parents can have. Really great though to hear that things worked out in court for you. Men really tend to get the short end of the stick and it's nice to hear of stories where one (you) fought and prevailed

1000% I've been exactly where you have as well as Johnny my x didn't wear any rings either I've been hit in the head so many times as well as hair being pulled out and till this day I've got absolutely no feeling on the top of my head years later and scars of the abuse I've suffered from DV. AH shows absolutely no signs of trauma such as Depression ,anxiety, suicidal tendencies and trauma bonding. She seriously needs to STF and leave JOHNNY alone
