To my understanding, Destiny "befriends" people like this simply because he finds them interesting and enjoys getting to break down their insanely different ideologies and perspectives. Destiny himself tries to make it quite clear that he doesn't consider these people his friends, just acquaintances/people he knows. Hopefully that clears some things up a little bit, Sir Gut

Am I crazy or is having a parent in a different state for work not common? Like I’m confused on why that’s even an issue being brought up. I know this is not a good comparison probably but there are business trips that can go on for months, truck drivers on the road for days at a time.

In my experience, it’s uncommon. I had one friend whose dad was a truck driver, one friends whose dad was in the military, and rarely my mother went on work trips. We were definitely in the minority. Additionally, Destiny is a streamer. He doesn’t have to live in Miami.

It happens often enough given the nature of work and families, we’re not all monoliths. And let’s be honest, being “involved” in your kids lives doesn’t mean you are giving them quality care. We have no idea how and when destiny communicates with his child and it’s none of our concern unless we believe something harmful is occurring, for which there is no evidence for. People need to stop projecting their restricted materialistic thinking onto others.

As a streamer who can work from anywhere he could have decided to live near his kid . I have been watching destiny for a while and he sometimes streams for 12 hrs a day and then is scrolling tender and going on dates afterwards. He could be doing better but over the past few years it definitely didn’t appear that he was dedicating a lot of time to his kid . He doesn’t seem like a bad dad . Just a cliche . A lot of dads are very comfortable living away from their children and just calling occasionally and visiting for holidays and bdays .

I live very far from my dad, like a litteral ocean is between us... I have an excellent relationship with him. We talk regularly at least twice a week even if it's just to stay on a Phone just to see each other doing chores... He's an amazing provider and emotional support. He's a real lighthouse in the dark when it comes to my life... You can be a good father and be far away... it's a bit hard sometimes, I wish we could be together all the times. But honestly it's just means that we are even more happy to see each other and make the most of our limited time spend together. What's count as fathers, is to try your best, make efforts to be there as much as you can even if it's just throught a Phone...

I think Destiny is struggling due to his arrogance. He's been humbled multiple times lately. First by Nick F. I cant stand Nick's views but Destiny objectively lost that debate because Nick was more well versed in Geopolitics. Destiny has a habit of assuming the capability of the people he debates before debating them and presumes that people with bad morals also must lack intelligence or make bad arguments. Then when he is shown evidence that disproves his points, he struggles to concede the point. He is a sore loser. I like watching him but this is something I notice. He attaches a lot of virtue to political parties as opposed to the substance of the argument. He isnt actually trying to gain perspective for people he doesn't like due to their politics. He is oddly in an echo chamber and or epistemic bubble. He hasn't argued with people at his level or beyond and it made his ego really big. He can accept losing to another liberal but not "conspiracy theorists ". I'm tired of people being able to shut down arguments by calling people conspiracy theorists. That just isnt always the case. Some people just know more about a topic than you may, and that is ok. Just learn, grow and be ok to change your opinion in the face of good evidence. Some stuff Destiny believes is easily disproveable, but because of the implications of that evidence pointing to a specific ideology he refuses to concede.

I hate when people say that the quantity of time u spend wit ur kids is more important than the quality. That is wholeheartedly not true. I would lnow seeing as my father lived in the same house as me my entire life and still did not lift a finger to raise me, or be present for me though he was physically there. He didnt have to go to work he literally was in the house 24/7 and did absolutely nothing as a father. The man would barely feed us unless threatened by my mother. So no, physically being there means nothing. The quality of time spent as a parent with your kids is wayyy more important than the amount of time. Being present does not soley mean to physically be there. Most times physically being there does not mean that you are present for that child. There are plenty of people out there that are physically around their kids and still aren't there for their kids. But you wouldnt call those people parents who are present for their kids. Ive had people tell me at least your father was in the house with you, mine wasnt around. And my answer was always neither was mine. sure i saw him everyday but he wouldnt speak to me, he wouldnt feed me, wouldnt care if i went to school or not, didnt teach me anything, wasnt there for me in anyway, didnt make sure i was safe when my mom was at work. Its not about the quantity of time but the quality of time.

I have things i also disagree with Destiny on, but what bothers me about this is that it seems like he leaves room to be a workaholic dad. Its come up over several years and there seems to be a vague excuse or downplay of it. Even though now hes debating these red pillers and using some of his own examples about how to be functional in relationships. Just seems a bit cheap. Dont like Sneako either but im a bit tired of these politics streamers posturing about their morality and then downplaying something that is kind of hypocritical to that morality for years.

Every time you call someone’s destiny is willing to talk and hang with a friend and try to levy some moral judgment over him as if it’s impossible for him to hate everything that person stands but still treat them like human makes me genuinely find you less mature and more petty. Like framing nick or Myron as friends of destiny can’t only be described as bad faith frankly. I know it comes out of ignorance and idiocy frankly but eh seeing more efforts to be more good faith till you know otherwise about more of the truth would be nice, though can understand destiny lore can be abundant and convoluted lol, regardless have a good day (I watch way to much destiny and feel like I can understand a lot of his actions or reasons behind things so feel free to ask cause I understand there’s some points that can be brought up in my comment that I left out so I don’t have a 1000 word comment for no reason.)
