😫 🛑 I can't believe so-called professionals are still polishing headlights which is a scam especially when your charging as much as true headlight restoration. (2008 Lexus RX 350)
I've done "OVER A THOUSAND HEADLIGHTS" and growing, more and more every day. I've tried DOZENS of different ways and combinations of products. I know what's best.

It takes me about 2 hours but I am still wet sanding by hand. I follow your process however still don't trust myself with a drill. I need to get some old headlights to practice on.

1 or 2 switch on drill? Turning left or right? (it matters on this drill because turning right is faster) Do you hold the trigger all the way down? What setting drillbit-22 do you use?
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 10 ай бұрын
Lot of questions bro.. this questions are on different videos throughout the channel.. if you watch a couple videos I'm sure you'll detail explanation of everything you ask.. I use on a high setting..(definitely shouldn't unless you're used to it it took a while to get me used to it) Turning right or left doesn't matter the speed variance is extremely minimal, right and left only it matters on your preference and I switch it back and forth depending on what part of the light (some parts will throw the drill directions you don't want so all you do is switch) I hold the trigger down full power and I feather it depending on what points I'm at.. I keep the drill bit setting higher but not all the way up it's it varies.. Thank you for watching a lot of videos up..

Oh yea I was wondering since you have so much experience can you recommend some good alternatives for 3m sandpaper if it might be out of somebodies price range? Something that can be used to hand sand instead of using a drill and doesn't cost as much as the 3m pads?
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 10 ай бұрын
Not really .. If you haven't noticed I'm kind of a quality person like I want the best quality work and I use the best quality products... I don't really know anything about using cheap stuff as in general it's usually an efficient stuff..(I've learned this from experience and in good faith can't recommend much) But if you're talking about it by hand anything you get that's for hand venture slabs of sandpaper is going to be cheaper than these pre-cut disk... Is extremely cheaper.. I would advise just do what you're going to do.. This is showing you what you're going to achieve when you're using the best products and supplies using the best method that's all I'm promoting for a reason.. I can see if you're just doing this for yourself on your own vehicle that's fine even then you should want the highest.. When you compare the price of the actual light and vehicle it's very miniscule and fractional... Will you compare if you're doing this for paying customers the price is damn near irrelevant at the overhead of the situation is non-existent... (The best investment you can ever have is to invest in yourself - and do not sell your craft short)

I will finish up for a client and there will still be some scratches from the drill I don’t know if it’s because I’m pressing to hard or what but I will buff and polish for 20 mins and they won’t come out

Love it! How come you don’t use the drill for polishing?
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 10 ай бұрын
Not fast enough and to much torque..you could but nowhere even close to what you need in terms of speed which produces friction and heat which is the main reason it produces that ultra clarity and smoothness...drill 1,700 RPM or so - Polisher 7,800 RPM or so ...HUGE DIFFERENCE..

Your videos are super bud. Just a quick question - I see on some videos you do thr wet sanding on the p3000 stage and other videos you use it on the p800 stage. Does it make a difference as to what stage you use the wet hand sand method at? Cheers.
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 10 ай бұрын
Always on the 3000 trazact pad it is a wet sanding pattern you do not sand with dry on that at all it's not designed that way.. 800 is more of Hit or Miss you can do it every time it's not going to hurt anything but it's not always going to change something on all lights.

I'm working on a Mercedes sprinter van with badly pitted headlights and it keeps eating my 500 disc's I tried everything . What am I doing wrong.?
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 10 ай бұрын
That's probably an extremely hard coating what's a lot of Mercedes come with especially heavy duty equipment like this.. The disc might be too weak.. this is why I sometimes go up to a p320 or p220.. hopefully you mean that you're using a p500 "p" (as they are different).. also hopefully you're using a 3M as they are going to be much higher quality than any other disk you can get (brand)

Hey mate, I imported the sand discs you suggested, 500, 800 and 3000 trizact, all from 3m, waiting the deliver. But in my country your polish foam pad and the polisher are unavailable, I found other options, a 3 inch polisher and sander but with 2 speeds, 2600 rpm and 7800rpm, which one should I use? One more question, can i use a very soft polish pad or would be better a more soft than that which is a wax pad? Thanks
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 10 ай бұрын
You want to use the fast setting but tested and play with it because it takes a lot to get used to and be really careful in the corners and bins and sensitive areas.. and you want a firm pad doing the lights not a soft...
