Thank you, you're the best. I did my Ford focus headlights, first attempt, it didn't come well, a bit hazy. Then I learnerd about 2k clear coat spray can and how bad they are on the lights. Sanded them down again and applied LENS CLEAR spray can and came out like brand new. The can has an amazing spray patten and it was easy to lay down clear like a pro.

Hey, thank you so much! Love the videos and all all the knowledge and information. I had a question after you do the polishing is it beneficial to do an alcohol wipe or does it not matter because the polishing prepares the surface perfectly? Thank you so much going to keep watching and learning.
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 10 ай бұрын
Never use anything at this point except the Polish.. a lot of people use alcohol which will lock in the wrong substance and residue even though predominantly alcohol does not leave residue behind but in this case it does react with the polycarbonate to leave a certain residue behind which you either notice immediately or in the long run.. also the alcohol will dry out the light stripping the oils that have just been replaced or locked in to the headlight which is beneficial for clarity and headlight health and longevity... He's an alcohol and things like this after the step promotes dryness of the headlight which decreases clarity and increases the chance of cracking and permanent damage down the line even though it'll come clear still... Just in layman's terms no stripping agent after this it's totally counterproductive and anything you want for headlight restoration.. nothing's going to clean and prep a surface better than the heat of 7800 RPM Plus... No cleaning agent...

Yo Pro, thanks again. I overheated the lens at the polishing stage. Caused little honeycomb stress cracks. Fortunately It was on a vehicle I own and not a customer's. I know heat is important at that stage too. At what speed do you polish and how do you avoid burning like I did? Robert @ Clearlite Systems

You’ve stated that the orange pads should not be washed as it will interfere with the end result. Would this apply to Rupes yellow pads as well for both headlights & paint…

I have done several of my cars by hand/ wet sanding and then I use my cordless drill for polishing. I still use your method one of our cars was extremely difficult I ended up going all the way down to 220 grit and building it back up to 3000 grit. My neighbor came over and said my lights look better then factory new lights. He asked how much I would charge him, I'm not sure, the whole process takes me about 2 hours start to finish. Can you give me any tips on what to charge? Thank you.

Good day to you ! I am new to this and I just wanted to ask for your advice. Now I got a 2011 E class and it is started to haze (not yellow). I have seen different methods like people wet-sanding 500-1000 grit then applying 2K clearcoat to get it clear and protected , and others wet-sanding 800-3000 and then using compound then polish then using protectants like Sylvania UV protection. I understand you do not wet-sand to create heat on this model but does later models require this ? And what if I live in a hot climate already 🤔 I am a new subscriber thanks

All the other methods that she referred to are quite inefficient to this one... If I was you I would use this method as you see the results.... Definitely never put your cake there on your light unless you just don't care about your car or seeing correctly at night... I'll have that restoration require heat and friction to get the max efficient headlight restoration... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/npNoda6Gqryrgo0.htmlsi=jZf-bcQwCmVFwxSy kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y9hdqLmV1t-UlIk.htmlsi=fBPGq163GDXTXqc2

I've tried this exact method about 5 times now, and I still get micro scratches after the wet sand step. Other than using a different drill, I'm using the same exact products and procedure. I haven't figured out if the scratches are leftover from the first step, or from the second one, but the final wet sand doesn't get them out. Only thing I can think of is maybe I'm putting too much pressure while sanding, and should lighten it up. I'll see on the next one.
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 11 ай бұрын
Nine times out of 10 most people new to this it is too much pressure on the first step the p800 is not going to leave too much scratch behind even if you press pretty hard.. It's almost always from the previous step or steps... Only pressure you're applying is just to keep it flush.. laid flat over the headlight.. that's it it doesn't take any muscle or any strength or pressure literally a 3-year-old could do it with one hand if they can hold it... I'm talking that kind of pressure... Also the second most common mistake is not going deep enough with the p800 not using it enough...(also the hand sand p800 is very important) But at the same time it can very much be your drill... What drill are you using?
@madwax1360
@madwax1360 11 ай бұрын
@@theheadlightrestorationpro thanks for those tips! I'm going to try them next one I get. My drill is a cordless Makita, I don't know the model, but it's bigger and has more rpms as the Ryobi you use. I wonder if that's part of my problem. I find it being faster, it doesn't seem to glide along the surface as well as yours, and it's a lot harder to control.
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 11 ай бұрын
More than likely that is your issue you have to be able to control it.. and multiple videos I say that the drill cannot be a heavy duty drill.. that is a heavy duty drill.. The RPMs have to be less than 1800... The torque which is probably the main issue has got to be less than 700 or you will definitely be jumping around on the headlight and having too much torque on top of that equals gouging out deep gouges in the light which are hard to get out especially if you're using the same exact tool to try to get them out... I'm like 90% sure that's about 90% of your problem.. Either they touch bases with this on my latest video...

No problem... Thank you for watching.. to find somebody who does the service the best thing I can think of is to look on Google is the best source.. Pay attention to the reviews and also their illustrations and portfolios. Just ask their process.... #1 always sanding #2 clear coat

@@theheadlightrestorationpro ok so look for someone who sands and uses clearcoat? Wait, I thought you said in one of your videos that certain clear coats are bad? Which one is good? Oh also how long does quality restoration last? Thanks

You're going to have to settle for what you can get unless you do it yourself.. It's going to be hard to find someone who does it exactly the way I do it.. Probably not going to happen...

Have you used the spraymax headlight 2k clear? The rep at spraymax said it wasnt as hard as the regular 2k clear, which of course you have stated is a problem with using regular 2k clear.

Springmax is the last thing I would put on my vehicles headlights.. I'd rather polish them to do that..lol After that regular 2K... I wouldn't use the stuff not meant for headlights and the one that they made for headlights is pretty much identical just has more efficient or more abundant UV protectant.. same thing.. that's why I had some red snap cap to introduces the hardener..
