Spot Free Water makes waging your car so much easier. Especially during the summer months when it is hot out, the sun is out longer, and you car dries before you can finish washing it. In todays video I will be reviewing the Unger Rinse N Go Deionized water system. You can get this unit on costco.com for 179.99 (at the time of this video). It comes with everything you need to wash you car spot free including 2 resin filters. But is it worth the money? I will be testing this to see exactly how much spot free water I am able to achieve from this unit and find out if this is a good option for the diy'er, or if you should look for something else... ENJOY!!!

Little tip for anyone you can actually regenerate DI resin many times for a little as $30-$50 depending on the size of tank you have. Only 2 chemicals needed Lye and muriatic acid. I have a video I’m editing to show how it’s done. Haven’t brought new resin in so long.

Great review enjoy your testing and showing real world results. Since the quality of spot free rinsing is relative to the amount of water used I would like to see if you could test as I don not have the equipment on how much water is used . I am trying to find out if rinsing soap with garden hose from city supply then using spot free or straight spot free to rinse soap? Then compare garden hose city water rinse then use pressure washer with spot free or just pressure washer spot free to remove soap? So in the end I am looking for the most efficient way to use the spot free using garden hose or pressure washer. Pressure washer use seems it would use quite a bit more water then garden hose, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, the higher your source TDS, the quicker it'll burn through. My house has ~400 TDS out of the tap. I'd be burning through my retirement trying to use this thing. Much more economical to buy bulk resin if you really want DI water. I've given up and just wash on days when I can actually dry before the water evaporates.

I think a two stage 10 inch filter system with two resin filters would be much more cost effective than this. This though was designed for most retail customers as a two stage needs to be mounted and is a little more work with adapters. I like The CR Spotless as well and I think I will try and review the Adams or some other. I have very good water at 60ppm so I can go a long way on less resin. At 400ppm you need the bigger system just so you don't have to replace as often and I actually think the more resin the longer it lasts as it has more resin to flow through. A way to make you resin last longer is to add another two stage carbon and sediment filtration especially if your water has a lot of chlorine and chloramine. That carbon filter will save you some money in the long run taking care of those chemicals before deionization.

Love the video, not so much the product, too little resin for hard water. Giving the Envig Car Shine (3 cartridge) setup a try. Only 3 lbs of resin(1lbs *3) with 300ppm water and will see how long it lasts rinsing 2 cars every 2 weeks. Calculated 66 gal for 3lbs resin at 300ppm w/4gpm flow so 66+ at 1.5gpm of Ryobi 1800. The Ryobi 1800psi you reviewed. Plan to buy 3 replacement cartridges and cycle a new one in as the first depletes and rejuvenate when 3 are depleted.

I buy my spring water and at least 1 gallon of distilled water. So I keep a supply of distilled water on hand. Our water here where I live in Northeastern Kentucky is very hard water. Do to the Chemicals they put into the water here I was told not to drink the water because of my allergies. That's why I drink spring water I even cook with it.

That’s what I use on my ceramic coated truck, after I rinse I spray my truck down with Technicians Choice Ceramic Detail spray as a bead maker, I then wipe down with my large drying towel. Then I blow out around all the badges, mirrors, etc. Last I touch up whatever areas have, door jambs, and wheels. Works for me just fine, work in the shade either early in the morning or late evening.

I pulled the trigger on the deionized water set up from The Clean Garage which is the same one as the adams one but with a different logo and cheaper. I’m super happy with it and highly recommend it. I just don’t think the adams one is worth it because it’s literally the exact same unit from the clean garage with the exact same quantity of resin but under $400. These companies just buy it from the same place and slap their logo on it. Griots garage has a pretty competitive one too but the reviews steered me away from it. If you’re interested in a DI system I’d suggest you buy one so you can rinse and walk away but for the first 2 washes I’d pay close attention to the car because the water that will trickle from the crevices will not have 0 PPM and will leave water marks.

Where in the United states are you going to get water at 100 ppm ? I do not wash cars but i was in the RO/DI game of building systems for the window cleaning / car detailing and i am probably sure you could get away with 20 -30 ppm to wash a car and have great results but i could be wrong. I honestly think the whole DI thing for washing cars / solar panels and windows is over rated. You will have no problem with a good RO system to do any of these cleanings . Well water would kill this system within 1-2 washes. This would be a cheap DI system to hook up after your RO and pumping it into a water tote/tank for mobile detailing
