I bought one sometime ago after first seeing you use one - absolutely brilliant. Just for info of your viewers I bought a Bruhl blower - very powerful and unlike yours heat is either on or off, not variable, but it gets quite hot. It was £89 then and is top quality. I thoroughly recommend this make.

Thanks TMF, I went and spent a shed load of money on all kinds of cleaning products having watched your videos. It's a huge help seeing what you use and recommend and I now own one of them dryers. The wife cracked up when she saw it and now can't resist telling people I bought a dryer for my bike. At least you understand.

Thank you for another informative video. I went the pet dryer route for my Tiger 800 and it still amazes me how much water blows out from the radiator!,I can say it works a treat when set to hot, never had a specific bike dryer but the pet dryer has been used for 12 months with no problems. Think it was £55 from flea bay, hope that help someone who is worried about a pet V bike dryer.

Just purchased a pet dryer, rated at 2.8 k Watts with variable heat output. It comes complete with various nozzle attachments. Looking forward to cleaning my GS1200 and blasting away all the moisture. Will also try this out when I wash my car, especially around the rear hatch area where water always seems to pool up and on the alloy wheels.

Thanks for this. Was considering one of these a while back, as you rightly point out, drying any bike is a pain in the arse so anything that makes the process easier is got to be a good thing. On another topic. Puncture repair! I'm new to biking and never had to change a tire or repair a puncture. Would be great if you could put a video together about what a novice needs to do understand. Just an idea. Keep up the good work.

I dont own a bike but love (read obsessed by) the channel. I own a detailing company in scotland and highly recommend the dryer for the bikes they are a god send, Polished Bliss also sell some dryers Black Baron hand held is a good machine, Ebay sell these dryers but beware of buying outside of the UK, i also use an RCD with it... just incase. when your vehicle is waxed or sealed it makes drying so much easier, have a look at Tac systems UK for paint protection coatings.

Great video TMF. Mate, your GS looks in showroom condition given the mileage and time you have had it. Well done! On my GS found the wheel rims hard to get clean and actually tarnished on mine over time (have wire wheel rims) . Also grit within cylinder head air vents hard to get at as well. Tooth brush might be the go there.

Hi TMF. Been subscribed for a while now and appreciate all the hard work you do in giving us these vids. Recognise 99% of the roads you film on as I'm only in Stoke Mandeville and grew up in Hughenden Valley / Bryants Bottom. I too am a big Triumph fan and suffer with the same OCD cleaning illness! Saw an earlier video you did where you used a dryer and I had to have one. You advised it was from eBay but they were out of stock for ages. Then saw one being used at a Harley dealer being dragged around on its side all battered. They said it was brilliant, had had it for a few years and used several times a day. So bought one. Master Blaster, made in USA but there is an importer here. Expensive at about £220 but well built. I made a trolley for it as they all tip over easily. Far better than my airline and less likely to cause damage from fine jet air. My 70 year old biker friend and neighbour scoffed at it, borrowed it, then bought one! P.S. I know you're not a cruiser fan, and I'm not really into the chrome, bags and tassels thing either but I've a new Thunderbird Storm and wondered if you'd thought about reviewing one of those? Throw a leg over mine if you do. Who needs Sky TV when you've got TMF, Captain Rambunctious and others! Sorry for the long comment!

Great advice. I picked up a unit at Costco (do you have Costco's in the U.K?) for about $25 dollars. It does not have the heat option but works great for the price. I got the unit after watching your original bike cleaning video and this method has cut cleaning time in half. Another great product is S100 spray on bike cleaner that I highly recommend. Cheers!

We do have Costco over here, but, they don't carry the range of gear that the US stores do. No sign of a dryer online and haven't seen any bike kit in the store. They have a few bits n pieces for cars, such as oil, car mats and wipers, that's about it.

@Audittr2108
@Audittr2108 5 жыл бұрын
kingbullykutta - The heat comes from the heat that comes off the electric motor. It doesn’t have a specific heating element in the same way a hairdryer does for example. So the air it blows out gets a little warm rather than hot in any way but being a twin fan model, it blows out something like 170 mph if memory serves. I can dry a car in 25 mins so a bike is no bother at all. The warmer air helps things along but the power is what does the job. It’s nice though on a cold day as the the hose and nozzle get warm and keep your hands toastie!

Hmmm, that is a good Christmas/birthday wishlist item, thanks TMF. Currently I use a towel on the bike and on the car to dry and prevent streaks, but it doesn't properly dry the hard to reach water retaining spots. My normal rule of thumb is to wash first, then towel dry, then ride to blow out any remaining water which would lead to corrosion. I used to have a compressor which was great for that task, but it was rather noisy when pressurising the cylinder beforehand (so not as practical as a dryer and no heating option either). Could borrow the wife's hair dryer and face the wrath if caught ;-), but it doesn't have enough power to do the job properly. In places where there are a lot of minerals in the water system, failure to properly dry means ugly spots on the paint finish.

I bought two of these to compare them side by side. A cheap £55 "GRANDMA SHARK 2800W" which is the same size as in your video. Then a larger £135 "SHELANDY/GRAVITIS Professional 4.2HP" which is about 50% longer than the above. Both worked well and the latter was about 30 > 50% more powerful at 'blowing' but the heat output wasn't as good as the former (probably as they use the same heating element). TLDR; buy the cheaper units if you want value for money.

Good devices but tend to be too expensive for my liking. As you mentioned, I got a dog drier instead. I can't tell any difference between the two (probably because they're the same thing) except for a printed paw shape and half the price tag! I wouldn't want to point it at a dog though. Far too powerful.

Actually the one I linked to is £60 cheaper! I did have a report below though that actually the pet dryer wasn't quite as robust as the dedicated bike dryer, all I can say is they look similar to me! Caveat Emptor I guess! All the best - TMF

I think it is really good to keep a pair of ear defenders in your garage or shed, like these ones: www.screwfix.com/p/se1348-comfort-ear-defenders-29-8db-snr/41054 Yes, of course ear plugs are a good idea, but often you will have oily fingers and you will think to yourself "it'll be okay for a few mins" and go ahead and use the noisy thing. With the ear defenders they are so easy to put on that I think you are more likely to use them for those short noisy jobs.

I bought a pet dryer for about £70 which worked well for a bit but the motor burnt out after a few times using it. Turned out to be a false economy. I'll be investing in a better quality pukka bike dryer next time.
