Earlier this year took your advice and bought a bike dryer, it makes drying the bike so much easier, more thorough and faster. Also took your advice and have applied ACF50 to my bike. Guess I'll be taking your advice again and picking up paint sprayer for my compressor. Thanks for yet another fine video.....

Hi TMF, just tried this out today myself. Works a treat. I've had a compressor for a while now (sand blasting, putting air in car tyres etc.). Got tired of pumping ACF50 by hand all over my bikes with the little atomiser that comes with the bottles. Bought a spray paint gun via Amazon for about £12 - what a difference to an otherwise tedious job. Big thanks for sticking to it (although I originally commented on Twitter that I would not persist on the air tool path).

Great video, glad you got it all working. Just for information the rear adjustment screw adjusts the needle, undo it more for more product or less for less. The front adjustment screw is to adjust the cone of the spray. You can make the spray wide like a fan or make it a bit more direct and more narrow

Wa Hey, well done TMF, been waiting for this one, worked a treat. The screw you twist3 at the back of your gun pulls the needle backwards allowing more liquid through and adjusting the spray pattern from a wide to a narrow fan. Painted a few cars in my time you know !! Well done, just ACF’d my GSA (the old fashioned way) but then I’ve only one bike, but it was all thanks to you and one of you previous vids. Thanks again good job, cheers buddy 👍🏍

I just tried this for the first time today and it's so easy it's like cheating!! I sprayed it all over, then just wiped it over with a micro fibre towel to even it out a little. Done! Something to note about ACF50: I looked in the garden sprayer bottle that I used a few months ago and the ACF50 has set solid. So make sure you store it in the bottle it comes in!

Excellent video - have done all three of my bikes following this approach - including a new GSA. I was pretty shocked at just how bad the BMW is for rust starting! Its done maybe 15 miles from new, was washed after its maiden run, garaged an then washed as above, and thankfully ACF50'd.... the other two bikes are Italian and have nothing like the corrosion issues I could see with the BMW!

It's a good idea to check out what pressure goes through the gun, I have one like yours & it's 45-55psi, you can set that on the compressor on the regulated gauge. The screw on the back of the gun is for paint flow & the one by the side is air , so you can get the right mix. I looked in to getting my Harley dine by an agent & it was going to involve travelling a 100 mile, paying 80quid, so I bought my 50litre compressor from Lidls for 90 & got a selection of tools , tyre gauge, spray gun, blow gun, & a paraffin gun (the ref one like yours) for 25 quid from Screwfix, just had to put connectors on the end. Well done you done a good job 👍👍😎

It was great to see you so excited when it worked. Do you coat a bike even if you don’t plan to use it over the winter months and what is the effect on the exhaust by way of any discolouration or staining. I bought a tin years ago but have never used it as I don’t ride this end of the year. I’m guessing it’s good to protect from condensation sitting on fasteners etc when the bike is just sat for months over winter ? What about any residue left on the tarmac. Is it slippery?

Hi TMF, glad it worked out for you this time. From past experience with spoked rims you should really get some ACF on those spokes and nipples, I’m not sure if they are stainless steel on the CRF?? If they are fine but if not I would recommend really getting something on them, I learnt the hard way. They can corrode really bad at this time of year. I take the wheel off and brake disc off and spray loads on my DRZ rims, then apply ACF grease to the nipples. Looks really awful but wash it off in spring and looks like a new rim still.

TMF, top adjuster will be for the needle, so how far you can pull the lever in, which affects how heavy the spray will come out. Other one is for the fan size, bigger the fan, the wider the spreader and vice versa 👍

Good video TMF but...Instead of the spray gun try an air brush, they’re around £6-10 on Amazon. More accurate and you need less air pressure 20-30psi . Also, remove the wheels and do them by hand with a brush, spokes and hubs as well. If you need to removed the brake pads give them a good clean with brake cleaner and apply copper slip before putting back in, do the sliders as well. With the wheels removed you can spray the callipers and inside the swinging arm getting the ACF50 in all the right places. Remember to clean the discs with brake cleaner afterwards.

Oh the joys of your first compressor - you'll find all sorts of unnecessary uses for it . I just like the blokey tool involvement and the whole expanded tool buying opportunities - nail guns and impact wrenches etc. The only problem with them is the row they make. Too noisy for a workshop really. I pushed the boat out and bought a Jun-Air dental compressor - makes about the same noise as a fridge - opens up another world of possibilities. I use a spray gun to apply the ACF 50. Atomises well and uses a lot less. Much better than the bottle and cloth method. You'll be at it all the time now.

I guess I can use the same method to apply FS365. Will give it a go. You appear to get more excited washing motorcycles than riding them.

You need to connect the hose to the other compressor tap and use the regulator to regulate the air pressure to "low pressure" I normally use 15-30 PSI depending what im spraying

I wondered what all that was about - cheers - what's the function of both taps then?? (No instructions with the compressor)....

@@TheMissendenFlyer you can run multiple air lines off of the compressor if you like. most use only the regulated side.

Some air tools are high drain and need as much air as they can get. 20psi works great and you don't get a massive cloud of the stuff. You'll use less as well.

@@TheMissendenFlyer The left tap is full pressure (tyre pressure gauge, air gun ect) and the right tap is the regulated tap for spraying. If the knob is wound all the way in it'll be full pressure, unscrew it and select you're pressure...... The pressure in the line won't drop when lowering the pressure untill you release the line pressure...... Just press the spray trigger when lowering the pressure

I watched Bennits test on protection for bikes , the test took months to do . The results showed that XCP was the best , it was significantly better than AC50 and the shine on the bike was brill.

This product is used extensively by motorcyclists and boat owners here; it was originally developed for aeronautics use. It will not remove existing corrosion or rust. It will prevent corrosion and rust very effectively, however it is not a paint; it is the consistency of a light lubricant. I apply it 2-3 times a year to my motorcycle. An excellent product. Here in Oz, ACF-50 Anti-Corrosion Lubricant Compound - is available in a handy13 oz Aerosol, treats three bikes each season.

I take the saddle off and do under there, lots of electrics live there and need protection too. Also using a spray gun to do my Interceptor in a day or two.

Also take seats off and spray electrics and frame undeneath, use a detail brush to do the brake calliper metal and fasteners and wipe the wheels..the thickness of it helps not get on tyres and discs/pads. Certainly do the fasteners on the calipers if nowt else but i paint the whole caliper and the detailing brushes £5 on ebay for 5 dont fall apart and allow u to get behind the caliper. I spray all the underside of my plastics too and when you come to wash the mud/crud just slides off. In between acf 50 which i do twice a year i use gt85. Its briliant but does wash off so regular application required. Compressor air gun will also do the same job as your hoover drier😃

I just bought the 1ltr bottle but I have access to a compressor, so most definitely doing it this way. Maybe over the top but I might take the wheels out and remove the pads, to get full coverage?!
