I know this is a really old video, but it's nice to see that DFD has been keeping it together in the years since I temporarily departed. I hope when I get back to perhaps get a ride-along with them and the department in my hometown.

Those Sutphen Towers are easily identifiable! Rode one as a probie, BEST ladder/bucket I've ever been up or down!

Engine 53 Needs new lights. I really don't like the strobe light effect on the engine. I want to be able to when I hear the sirens to see the flashing lights.

It’s probably the camera that had a similar frame rate to the lights strobing, so it happens to only record frames when the lights are off.

How is the department doing budget wise? I hate to see Detroit in poverty and all that, my pet peeve is when cities don't have a stable emergency services department D: Great video I subbed

Greater Toronto Area Emergency Videography Thank you! The staff do their best as they can. In the last decade a less of money or nothing was spent for the DFD. Detroit need a longer time to take the equipment on an acceptable situation.

Do all of DFD's rigs keep a spotlight on during a response? Noticed several had a cab light on while responding.

Think if you switch on all the alarm buttons the spot-/searchlight goes on.

Just wondering. Several have the spotlight activated on the driver side...and some on the passenger side.

It's a strobe lightbar, meaning it's harder to catch on film. Strobe lights act really strange on video, but I do agree, the bar is hideous

+ButtThuck Yes, ok, understand. It's a nightmare to get strobe lights there and right here in Germany or somewhere else on the film.

Hehehe. Ja, bei JJ wirds dann mal zuviel. Und dann auch noch XY fährt ohne Einsatz vorbei, XY kommt heim, XY... a sinken dann die EInschaltquoten. Merke ich ja auch.

Jepp, ein klein wenig ungeschickt - und nicht nur da (ich beobachte auch einen netten Holländer, auch ein extrem fleißiger Filmer, dummerweise sehen fast alle Ambulanzen da tüpfelgleich aus und oftmals sind's auch dieselben...). Sei's drum. ;-) ;o)
