Ahh nothing better than watching a before you buy video after buying it

I actually like the fact that you are overpowered by the end, you worked hard for something and you earned it.

I remember playing the first Deus Ex many years ago and on my way to my first briefing in the headquarters building, I decided to walk into the ladies rest room. I walked in, turned on a faucet, and walked out. Later, when I met with my "boss" to be briefed for my mission he said "there are reports that you were in the ladies washroom - stop it" (I'm paraphrasing). That was when I knew I was playing a *good* game. Still my favourite.

I played this game for so long and to this day I think it’s one of the most densely packed games I’ve seen. Tried to do an all stealth run but near the end I got swarmed by a bunch of enemies. I loved it.

Going to get the game to hold me over until Cyberpunk.

I played the game for a few hours and realised I've made a huge mistake, I played with objective indicator on. I'd decided to turn the objective indicator off when one of the mission required that I find a fake cleaning company, the pocket secretary made a detail description of how to look for the place, apartments next to the station, look for a swan logo. Then I thought to myself, but what's the point with all those extra details... the indicator just takes you there anyway? At that point I realised the game was likely designed without it to begin with, but had added it to make it more accessible. Once turning it off, the game was much more rewarding, almost giving some VTMB vibe at times.

From an artist standpoint, I'm actually fond of the change from the gold and yellow filters from the last game, considering that the "golden age" of augmentations ended when the incident happened. Which means its going to be much more darker and grittier in terms of colors and tone. Although in some scenes when they need it, there will be that filter.

I played stealth in Human Revolution because I COULD NEVER FIND AMMO TO GO GUNS BLAZING

I really miss the black and yellow filter from Deus Ex Human revolution it made it unique

For those complaining about him spoiling Human Revolution: Adam literally spoils the entire game the moment you start up Mankind Divided.

To me this game will always be 11/10. I'm doing my 4th playthrough and it's not gonna be the last one for sure. The plot, characters, locations, level design, dialogues, overall design, atmosphere and above all the soundtrack create an absolutely addicting and totally incomparable experience. Please, go and buy this game people! Give them Your money so Dugas and Eidos Montreal can make Adam finnish off the Illuminati in the last part.

I personally love characters who have clear motivations and intentions, but when a misterious character is well done, then I love it even more. Lord Baelish for example, you can never know how much and if he is involved into something, but whenever something happens, I always keep Baelish in the back of my mind.

Great review as always. Just picked the game up with all dlc for about 8 bucks. I remember I tried this game when it initially came out and after playing it for roughly 15-20 mins, I decidedly convinced myself I hated it and it was terrible. Biggest things I disliked was the shooting felt way off, it felt light almost like I wasnt shooting any bullets at all even while unloading a full clip. Also I didnt like the going in and out of first-third-person. I then started seeing nothing but 'very good' all the way to downright 'incredible' reviews. I then started reevaluating my take on the game, and found that my second criticism about the switching between first and third person was a bit of a pessimist opinion, when after time, I grew to not mind it and eventually liked it alot. But going back to my first criticism about the shooting, I still felt it was off but continued to play through it and opt for a more stealth playthrough so I wouldn't have to deal with it as much, and what do ya know? Lo' and behold, after about 2-3 hours of playing I was more than comfortable with the shooting. Which albeit still, I feel its not great and can use more punch to the weapons and feedback that feels like your unleashing clips of lead into humans. Its not as bad as I once thought. Now chalk this simply up to me maturing as a gamer, whereas once upon a time I played this as a young COD and shootem up fan, as opposed to someone who now loves games with deep lore, lots of notes and what not to read, getting lost in environments and the worlds built, and overall just becoming a full blown adult gamer. Point being, I realized that it wasnt mine or the games fault, when I initially tried it. The game was what it was, and I was who I was, at the time when we first tried having an experience together. Me as a younger Michael Bay like, who wanted loud explosions and non stop adrenaline rush like set pieces, I wasnt ready for a more contemplative and intelligent action game that rewards you for slowing down to a stop sometimes to smell the roses. I now love strolling around, looking in every nook and cranny for lore. Me and the game have both reacquainted ourselves to eachother at a time that works out much better than it did our first go around. !

I love the dialogue system in mankind divided, you actually have to think about what you say unlike fallout's color coded difficulty bs

I started my second playthrough after getting the Pacifist trophy and I'm watching this video to see what others think about the game. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

This game is so damn good. I love stealth and this game let's you stealth through pretty much all of it.

You can find the game for $5 now; at that price it's a no brainer. Once you've gotten past the first 30 minutes or so and adjusted to the aiming and movement it gets way better. I'm going through ARC city with just an upgraded pistol (silenced, laser sight, holosight), and it's a very satisfying play experience, stalking your target and taking them out in one shot without being discovered.

Just bought this game and it literally blows my mind in a way other games like Dishonored our Thief never really did. I mean Dishonored 2 did blow my mind, but this is just so much more than in DH2! You mostly have 1 infiltration objective and 10-15 different ways to complete the objective: A few ways through hacking various devices or objects. A few ways through exploration. A few ways simply through parkour and agility augmentations and several ways through clever use of aufmentations like Invisibility for example.

This is a solid game that needs to be played for a while to fully appreciate the mechanics, aug options and scale. I completed it and would give it a solid 8/10. You don’t need to pay for any praxis or even unlock all the aug options to fully enjoy it. Not for everyone, especially if you are just looking for a shooter or have little patience to explore the game fully - but it is very rewarding if you do.

This game is just so insanely fun to play that I don't even care about the story being lackluster. I have to admit I didn't even really pay too much attention to it throughout my playthrough. I just wanted to infiltrate bases, to assess different situations and come up with ways to tackle them, to hack shit, to ghost my way through and that's exactly what I did! Now I kinda wish I could play Human Revolution again but with Mankind Divided's gameplay!

You've finally convinced me to buy it. I will as soon as I see it on sale again.

it does feel very 'Deus Ex' themed and I'm loving the game. The stealth aspect of the game is the best part and IMO is the best way to play it.

I like games that litter the environment with stuff to look at. This to me looks "next gen" now if I can interact with most of what I see and a ton of stuff has physics applied to it I will be addicted to this game just walking around. What system was this video shown on?

so to summarise: patch in a gold hue-ish filter and it's pretty much perfect. i actually liked the music in this one, it's a really good atmosphere

You steered me toward getting it but I own human revolution along with dozens of other games and I haven't played it. By the sound of it... I need to play it first. Seems like an awesome game. I remember the first one of these I played on Playstation.. that game was amazing!

Hey Jake. Great review. I have always played FPS's and am really curious about this franchise. The graphics, scenery etc looks awesome. I never played any other game from this group but it is tempting. I have both PC and Xbox One so I would probably get it for my Xbox. I like the idea of having the choice of either using stealth or just plain out guns blazing. How long of a single player campaign is it and are the ones before this as good with the graphics and action.Thx

I'm confused. Is this first person where you're locked to third person when you enter cover? Or can you switch on the fly like Fallout or GTA?

Really great game. The ingame dialogue was what stands out the most to me. Its not cheesy like most other games. I didn't know much about deus ex games before MD. Really looking forward to play human revolution

I first started upgrading the smartvision and the arms. I'm trying to go for a mor stealthy/non-lethal approach but sometimes its hard to maintain and honestly sometimes i just cant help myself

I'm going guns blazing on my first playthrough right now. I will day this about both games, everytime I sat down to play either, my wife will sit down to watch this game like a movie. She remembers the npc's and will make comments on them. It kinda speaks volumes IMHO about these games. Even though she doesn't play she seems to enjoy them as much as I do. can't recommended this series enough.

Any time PS Plus gives out a game for free I usually try it out anyway, but while it's downloading I check out this channel and some other reviews. Personally you didn't steer me away at all since I didn't really beat the 1st one or play it much since my friend bought it for me when it was old. I think I'll have a lot of fun with this one!

I pre-ordered the game on PC and have it downloaded but i am going to wait until the DirectX12 patch comes out in a couple of weeks. I wanna play this in all its full eye-candy glory.

Bought it today for PS4, still in the starting area after all of this time because I'm taking it slow. I never played human revolution but I'm loving this! I try and go stealthy on most occasions when possible and the combat is just good enough to enjoy when you do get into those sticky situations. cover to cover works great and the environment, characters and NPC's seem believable so I'm happy. The PS4 does however jitter (rarely though) but manages a almost solid 30fps and feels really good, I honestly after about 15+ hours would recommend this game if you haven't already bought it :)

Just finished the game. Now I know what you were saying about the ending. Worst part is that I finished off the boss with a melee finisher, which left him unconcious. I didnt get to kill him before the cutscene started.
