Since I downsized my shop by moving to Denver, Colorado, I knew I needed to also downsize my Miter Saw. After lots of research, I settled on the DEWALT 20V Miter Saw. It only needs one battery and I bought 2, 5Ah batteries so I would always have a backup. It weighs just 30lbs and I have to say - I LOVE IT! Now here's the deal: I was SUPER skeptical about it. I have owned both the DEWALT top of the line 12" Compound Sliding Miter Saw AND the BOSCH top of the line 12" Compound Sliding Miter Saw so I know what is like to have the best. But with both of those saws, they were big and not easy to move around. I also feel like I don't need such a large saw right now with my current shop situation and project load. I bought this saw earlier this month. There was a deal going on which gave you a 4 amp battery and charger for $35.00 more than the bare tool. While I already had two 5 amp batteries, I thought this price was a steal. Your finding for this saw were the same as mine. This is a great saw. I especially like how quiet it is.

Even after I bought the 12" FlexVolt miter saw, I am still keeping this saw and I have found that I still use it more! There is unfortunately no laser guide. This function should be a must for all new power tools of this kind.

The dewalt shadow line is their version of a laser line and is far superior as the light casts a shadow over the blade giving you a precise line on the material. I like it a lot.

can you cut 2x4? I am undecided to go for the big 12inch or a small as this one

Yes you can easily cut a 2x4 on this saw.

Dewalt should make sliding miter saw that has a 10” blade coupled with their 60v flex battery.

You come across as you knew this saw was perfect before even putting it to any test that really matters: how accurate is it, and how well does it cut.

Did you consider getting the Milwaukee 7¼ miter saw instead ? I know its brushless and double bevel unlike your dewalt saw .

I love Milwaukee and sometimes wish I had bought into their system years ago but I never did. Since I already had a few DeWalt tools and batteries I thought this was a better option. But I am certain that the Milwaukee you mentioned is awesome!

@@diywithandrew ive checked out the dewalt one at home depot but unfortunately they don't carry the Milwaukee one in store but I'm sure I wouldn't be disappointed with it but nothing beats like seeing it with your own eyes . I'm invested in both dewalt and Milwaukee , I do have have dewalt stand but right now homedepot has the Milwaukee saw for 400.00 tax included thats only 100.00 more then the dewalt one so I'm just going to go for it and purchase the Milwaukee one and get the stand later since I don't mix red and yellow .

I have both platforms and from my experience i prefer the black and yellow. The red is not that much better also I have not had good results with the red lithum batteries. I have 2 4ah and 2 5ah black and yellow batteries that have been beaten to hell for alomst 8yrs now and they still go strong. Cant say the same for the red ones. Thats my experiences however..

Na.. Milwaukees much better in my opinion. Has dual bevel and if I remember right it's even a bit lighter too.

I really like Milwaukee. I have never used that one but I bet it is great too.

You don't need dual bevel you just flip the work its faster and more accurate the dewalt is more powerful doesn't bog down like the Chinese owned Milwaukee

@@loucifer323 once again.... Old Lou got your facts wrong! And your opinion is just that. While I do disagree... Rather sounds like excuses instead,otherwise they wouldn't be making DUAL bevel saws. But hey it's your opinion, and I would assume you don't own any other dual bevel saws too then. Take care ole Lou 👌

@@reddawgrup1779 They also put rafter hooks on a lot of tools that nobody uses either, I'll bet less 5% of woodworkers use the dual bevel, I'm guessing you never been on a jobsite where time is money

@@loucifer323 lol... Been a carpenter since 1983 probably longer then you've been alive by the sounds of it, but that doesn't mean I'm right about everything either. But if given the choice between dual bevel or not, I'm choosing dual bevel everytime with all else being close to equal. Not even a close call!!!
